    MY LETTER TO U2-1987
I saw you guys on the Joshua Tree tour in 1987 at MTSU-Middle Tennessee State University Saturday November 28th 1987. The Bodeans opened up for you. I remember at the time Larry had a crush on Wynonna Judd and she came out and sang a duo with Bono!
I didn't have tickets to the show. A friend of mine drove us 3 hours from East Tennessee to see the show. We bought tickets at the box office for $18.50. We ended up 8th row center stage!
I remember back then the band held back tickets for fans who were willing to make the drive and couldn't get tickets via phone or record store locations.
Thanks again to Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr for making a special album and tour! I was 18 and had just graduated High School that year!
    All the Best!
    Gary Lagstrom

Heard my first U2 song in 83" I was 21, I remember thinking, they've got to be Irish, and I danced in my kitchen to ( Two hearts beat as One) still a favorite of mine, as most if not all of their early music💕💕💕💕💕My love for him hasn't wavered over the decades one bit 😘😘😘

Can't remember exactly when I heard U2 for the first time, but became a fan in 1987 when I was 12. My love for him has changed after my political views changed over the last 8 years. Bono isn't an activist any more, but an elitist.

Bono Vox is credited on their early albums. He knows where the name came from. There was an ear piece shop for the hard of hearing in Dublin with Vox in the name. They figured out the meaning and added Bono. Translated-"Big Voice"

I love this. Thank you for sharing. It was my understanding that "Bono Vox" ("good voice" in Latin) was a hearing aid shop in Dublin. Bono's friends saw that name on the outside of the store and applied it to Bono. The group Bono hung out with all had nicknames for each other, including the group itself--"Lypton Village."

Do you know where the Edge got his name?, it's crazy where it came from?

@@Barry3326 His head shaped like an edge. Larry's was "jughead" for the same reason.

Bono's spirit has always been intact. This video is a glimpse of this great man.

4:54 Bob dylan is from the 60's and was hardly an idealist. He was a realist. Bob Dylan was not a protester type and didn't think the world could really change. This was shot in 83 has rock n roll changed the world? can music change the world? has u2 changed the world? No. Nevertheless i think bono has got the right attitude. I have always been a cynic in regards to the goodness of humanity maybe we really do need christ to exchange our hearts of stone for a heart of flesh....u2 cant save us...perhaps only the son of the living God, Christi jesus. Ironically, bono in his song God part II sings..."dont believe that rock n roll can really change the world....." Nevertheless i love the Guy and his optimism !

Yeah, things have changed for the worse since the 80's. All mainstream music is used by the elite to keep the masses dumbed down. Being as big as they are, U2 are a huge part of this massive deception. All these false idols want your energy, attention and most importantly, your money.
