    Is that true about tomatoes? I've sowed my seeds indoors ready to plant out at the end of August. I thought it would be too cold to plant them out now.

      In the sub tropics, like he is talking about, absolutely. We grow tomatoes all year round here is SE Qld but by far the best time for harvesting is now and into the beginning of spring....near to zero disease and pests

      @Pink Salt yes towards end of August. In saying that I live just outside of Newcastle and I can get tomato plants all yr round but the few tomatoes that grow never ripen during the cooler weather
