  • Exploring the Texas Coast this week in our little van!
    Starting in Galveston, we head south towards Corpus Christi to the USS Lexington.
    See our campsites at Jamaica Beach RV Resort and On the Beach RV Park, plus we take a quick drive along Magnolia Beach where there are plenty of oceanside boondocking sites!

    Fun video. Jett seems to enjoy the water. Anxious to see the Winnebago View in action.

    Hope to get to see the Texas coast in the Spring. We went to Austin in the summer to visit family. It was HOT! Hopefully the Spring will be a little more comfortable. That RV Park with the lazy river looked awesome! Thanks for sharing!

    Watching another. We are friend #780. We are in TX now. We love Galveston. We've been there many times and never been to the BBQ place. We stayed at JB RV resort too. Nice place. We've also never been to Magnolia beach.

    I want to do this lifestyle with my only daughter one day. I’m wondering how your son makes and sees friends? I assume he’s homeschooled? That is my concern with my daughter if I were to do this lifestyle. Otherwise I think it’s a wonderful way to live life! Love your rig too was eyeing this model for a while now

      We homeschool and we meet other families on the road that has kids. We always try to reconnect or sometimes travel together for a short time. Some RV parks also have many kids for our son to meet. Hasn’t been a problem to meet people for our son or us :)

    I was wondering, is this the only vehicle you have?
    I owe 2 more years on my 4runner. Thought about trading it in since it has 9,000 miles on it to help with payments on a Solis but, I'm also worried about if the Solus breaks down I have no other vehicle.
    So I'm thinking of waiting. I'm a Toyota owner so nervous getting a dodge ram van.
    I've also though of getting the van and have a 50cc or 150cc scooter on the back as a backup driver.

    Do you have any way of running your A/C when you’re boondocking? I’m thinking of downsizing to a Pocket from our Travato. We have a generator but I’ve only used it once for its intended purpose of running the AC one hot afternoon unplugged. Other than that we’ve run the blasted thing every month for an hour just to keep it exercised. I was thinking a Pocket with a big portable Bluetti lithium power brick (and SoftStart on the A/C) might work. Have you considered that? Or do you just run the roof fan?

      During the hot weather we usually do hookups. Then rest of the time we follow the weather where we don’t need AC.

      Trish, what do you think the cost of the portable Bluetti lithium power brick set up would be for this van? Thanks!

    Are there a lot of RV parks that take a van that isn’t self contained?

    • @ChanceP
      @ChanceP  Год назад

      Most will, it’s a class b RV. We haven’t had a problem. Most times in the van we rather not be in a park but boondock.
