Great views and highlights! It was cool to find out about Magnolia Beach and how you have access to showers there. Crystal Beach and Port Aransas are my favorite beach camping spots. 🏝
Hi Sherene! Thanks for checking out the video. Magnolia Beach is great, especially on the weekends, if you prefer smaller crowds. I’ll have to check out Port A, next time I’m out in that area. Thanks for the suggestion. 👍
As Karen mentioned in another comment, you do have to deal with sand getting everywhere, but free camping, free showers plus a sunrise and sunset everyday (when no clouds) is awesome! 😁 Go for it! 👍
Just checking up on your channel. I was hopping to beach camp in Texas in late February this year, but life happend again and I had to come back to homebase ladt week early. Maybe this fall... I hope you have had a great 9 months in your pickup camper. Safe travels.
I’ve been in Houston with friends and family for the past 9 months and the truck has been great. Now, I’m hitting the road, so looking forward to seeing how it handles rough roads..both the 4x4 and the build in general…how things hold up. 👍 Thanks again for checking on the videos.
Hey Angela! Well, thanks for the complements. You just reminded me that I need to include a bloopers reel at the end of my YT videos, because I couldn’t hit the ocean in my first 10 to 20 mins of shooting hoops. And as for hacky sack, I actually separated my right shoulder playing hack on the beach. I was going all out for a record (for my current age), dove to get one last hack and flipped and landed on my right shoulder. Luckily, through the magic of video editing….I look like a b-ball and hack stud. LOL!!! Well, I’m ok… Thanks for noticing. 😁
Yes, you do get tired of the sand. You either give up and leave or give in and stay. Haha! I can try my best to keep from tracking sand in, but there is mostly always wind at the beach which means sand is in the air. If the doors/windows are open, you’re gonna get sand in the van. 😕 I just made it part of my routine, coffee, breakfast, take the trash, sweep out the sand and wipe down counters. Good thing my van is small….not much in the way of counters to wipe. 😁 Thanks for the question, Karen. 👍
Wondered what happen to you. Well if you plan to be in Wa state, I can show you the Olympic Mountains and great camping places. I’m still setting up my Safari for some good camp trips.
Well, WA & OR are the only states out west I have yet to step or roll into, so definitely on the “one day” list. Also, most of the Eastern part of the country. Lots still left to see and experience out there. Good luck with your Safari set up. Great vans!
They do love a good flag. On Weekends, you could see up to 3 flag trucks cruising the beach to sell their goods. Based on the number of flags we see….must be a good biz. 👍
I would say 8-10 mph winds is normal with gusts up to 20 mph. When rain is on the way, especially from the gulf, there’s no stopping the wind so it could easily double. I remember one night, I left my shower tent up and a storm cropped up and I had to take the tent down in the middle of the night. FUN! But also exciting. 😁
@@DemigodNSX For sure! Also gotta follow the surf report. High tide can be a challenge if it comes while you’re sleeping! That makes it a fun challenge! Haha! 😉👍
Yes! I absolutely worry about salt corrosion and rust. If I had a new vehicle, I would probably do an undercoating and some sort of protective layer on the van paint. My van definitely has begun to rust more due to long term stays on the beach. It sucks! But, I loved the experience and will take the hit when I eventually sell my van. 😕 Good question. 👍
5:20 you had me at Showers 🚿 😮
Indeed! Magnolia Beach has the best showers of the 3 beaches. The others have them, but they’re harder to find. 😁
@@TravelingTroy I may get there in 2025

Wow Mr. T, you are all net with the b-ball & your h-sack is pretty good too!

Nice beach camping. Didn't you get tired of sand in the van?

TX Loves their FLAGGS 😅

Nice beaches. Do you think it's too windy for an SUV with a rooftop tent?

@Traveling Troy Thanks for the reply. Gotta stay on top of the weather reports I guess. 😄👍

Do you worry about salt corrosion on your van? Can you camp farther away from the beach to limit the salt water issues?

Big Troy' when are you headed to AZ this year? Would love to show you my new white Astro; (my 5th one). We could meet at Lake Havasu. 🏜
Hey there. Currently, no plans set, but it is getting hot, here in Houston, which is when I usually roll out for higher elevations.
