Jordan I'm sorry to tell you this, but Dasani quite literally has salt in it. Apparently that's kind of common in certain bottled waters, but especially Dasani. Dasani had also been banned in the UK because of the amount of Bromate which exceeded the UK's limit for bottled waters. Edit: OKAY LISTEN. I know they weren't outright banned and i'm sorry I said that. They voluntarily pulled out after the water contamination incident ruined their reputation. Thank you to those who corrected me though, honestly. Just so you know… Or you just may have forgotten science class, especially chemistry. 1. Our bodies need salts to be healthy. 2. Magnesium and potassium are salts. Both of them are in Dasani.
You’ve proved the power of branding, the importance of a good name, and the persuasiveness of graphic design. Dasani made a good impression on you out of the gate at a time when you were Young and thirsty. It’s sold in refrigerated cases and cold water tastes 500% better than room temperature water. Seriously, invest $1.50 in steam distilled water, sold by the gallon at grocery and convenience, stores. Tastes so good! I will note that it is the prevailing opinion among researchers that most people prefer water to have a flavor, that is, they prefer water with mineral content, like spring water. I am not among that number. I’m one of those people who likes water to taste like liquid nothing, like the feeling of air conditioning, hitting your skin when you’ve come in from sweating hours, working in the garden. Righteous cold in your mouth. Since you claim to hate Fiji water, you’ve thrown my good opinion of you into revolt. What water did you drink as a child that Dasani is bliss and Fiji water is trash? Are you experiencing a little known side effect of some long-term medication? At the very least, in order to make your taste comparisons as valid as possible, you need distilled water to rinse your mouth between sips of the others. A control, to remove any residual, taste, or mouth feel so you have a clear palate for the next sample. And, the cups really should be glass. identical shot glasses, maybe? Also, have you brushed your teeth? Saliva doesn’t taste like nothing, we just become inured to our own, with food changing the profile as long as it’s lingering in there. You also might want to try the same test with the same waters at different times of day. That would mean you don’t get a reveal until the end. But it would also protect the results to a certain extent from the guessing game which clearly swayed you here. you weren’t testing for best flavor. You were testing for. Most Likely to Taste How I Feel When I Drink Dasani.

Yeah, apparently someone else in the comments says it depends where it was bottled. The Dasani I used to drink in my hometown was my favorite water in the area, but where I live now, the stuff is absolutely vile. Either they changed practices on how they filter and bottle it, or it really is just where they got the water from, and they put no effort into making it the same quality. Despite it being vile here though, there are still worse water brands out there, and honestly, I'd put smart water below it.

Jordan I'm sorry to tell you this, but Dasani quite literally has salt in it. Apparently that's kind of common in certain bottled waters, but especially Dasani. Dasani had also been banned in the UK because of the amount of Bromate which exceeded the UK's limit for bottled waters.
Edit:
OKAY LISTEN.
I know they weren't outright banned and i'm sorry I said that. They voluntarily pulled out after the water contamination incident ruined their reputation. Thank you to those who corrected me though, honestly.
Either way, Dasani tastes bad and can people stop insulting my intelligence because of a singular comment I made based on the info I had, thank you.
quit talking bs. there was a recall because of the unusually high levels of bromate after the recall coke decided not toput dasani back on the market in eu it not banned nor has it have been banned nor is the level of bromate they had normal for their water. Their water still taste like shit tho.
@@LemonSoulz
I said HAD been, I wasn't trying to talk BS or anything. Relax.
The bromate thing was an issue with how they were sourcing water in the UK
Just so you know… Or you just may have forgotten science class, especially chemistry.
1. Our bodies need salts to be healthy.
2. Magnesium and potassium are salts. Both of them are in Dasani.
@@Rumplegirlskin yes, but salt also increases thirstiness. You get plenty of salt from eating foods, you don't need to drink decontaminated sea water.
You have to choose your friends like you choose your water. Blindfolded during an intervention.
I never thought watching someone drink water would be so entertaining 😊
This video has encouraged me to drink more water, but to also drink higher quality water.
90% of the water you buy the bottle is either from a well or from a tap somewhere regionally to you. Hardly any of it is ever filtered or treated in any way.
Really?
@@Cimkinwing yes, it is far too expensive to ship it long distances. Water is heavy, and it's also abundant in the United States enough to where it not ship as far. The Only Exception is water that is bottled within the Great Lakes Watershed region cannot legally leave the Great Lakes Watershed region.
Drinking Core water as I watch this. 😅
If it's not poland springs I'm not drinking it
The best water is tap water put through a filter. It's cheaper, available on demand, and better for the environment :3
During the panic-buying early days of the pandemic, at any Walmart, Superstore, etc. locally, the bottled water section was completely empty, except for Dasani. Dasani, the water with added spunk.
Guessing you're either a Tom Scott fan or a Brit who was there for that lovely little slogan? 😂
That WOULD explain the taste.
Or funk
Yeah, I had to choose from Walmart branded water or Dasani for my hurricane emergency water, and I chose Walmart brand
Same here, every store out of water... except for Dasani... it just sat there... even during the shortage... still the exact same number of Dasani flats still sitting there.
Jordan : Dasani is my favorite water. Ik how it tastes.
Also jordan : they didn't put Dasani in any of these.
ALSO Jordan : do you know how hard it is to find pants that fit me.
*Bro got me dying😂😭*
I detest Dasani and Aquafina. My current favorite is Icelandic, but my all-time favorite is Jana from Croatia. I had it YEARS ago. Found it at a local grocery outlet. It was so good my child even noticed it. He was five at the time and he’s sitting in the backseat drinking his water and says ‘Mom, this water is really good!’ Haven’t been able to find it since.
I found that in Big Lots years ago and I agree. It's actually similar to Evian.
@@IrinaZumba yes!! I saw it at Big Lots and when I went back for it it was GONE! 😭
If you can find Borjomi water, try it! It's a naturally sparkling water from the country Georgia.
@@devotchkac8365 oooh... it would have to be from an Eastern European store... but it's an acquired taste. I'm not sure the majority of people will like it. I do though, but I grew up with it.
@@IrinaZumba last time I had some I bought it from a Middle Eastern store in Austin, I was surprised they had it! Amazon has it too
I really think that Dasani used to be better than it is now. When I was a kid back in the early 2000s, I typically drank Dasani and I seem to remember really liking the taste. More recently, I tried a bottle and even cold, it was nearly undrinkable
Nah dude, Dasani has always been gross. It has never tasted better. It was always been disgusting. For the majority of my life since I had my first one, I would usually go thirsty rather than drinking it again, and if there was no other options, I would gulp it down and drink the whole bottle as fast as I could to get the experience over with.
@@CrazyBarks I would have a hard time believing that I traveled all over the country with my family, and lots of places would only have Dasani, and every time I drank it, no matter what place I was in geographically, it always tasted terrible. The stuff is just gross.
My hatred of Dasani goes back to the 90s. It was disgusting then and as of 2 years ago when someone bought me a bottle because I was dehydrated it was disgusting then too (tap water tasted better).
As someone who drinks tap water in hotels, tap water in different places has such diverse tastes and often tastes better than bottled waters.
Don't drink the water in Phoenix - it tastes like it came directly from the bottom of a murky puddle of questionable origin. 😂
Don't drink NYC tap. I filled a glass before bed, woke up and the shit looked like sprite with spit floating on top. Bubbles everywhere, slimy, grotesque.
Are you not much traveled then? Seriously, drinking local water in diverse places can wreck a person's gut. For instance, Montezuma's revenge is from people from other places drinking the tap water in Mexico.
@donnawestbrook8992 the difference is the water treatment standards. I know where it's safe and where it isn't.
I'm visiting a small city in England and the tap water is better than must bottled water I've had
I’ve trusted everything I’ve ever heard you say until you stated Dasani is the best water you’ve ever had 😭

Ok, but have you REALLY tried filtered tap water? The moment when you realize that most bottled waters are worse than filtered tap water will change your life. And your wallet.
you must live somewhere where the tap water is good
@@PiinkiePiee right. The tap water in my town comes from a well and the town has gotten a federal allowance (permission thingy?) because there's more arsenic than allowed and they have a time frame of when they're going to get it fixed.
@@PiinkiePiee I live in a big city. Its needs to be filtered for me to drink it, but like I said, still better than a lot of bottled water.

I want to know what water Harvey prefers.
He either prefers diamond water or literal mud water and there is no in between.
Harvey prefers his water to be in his food, probably some fishy.
I'm here to find out which one he will give to Harvey now

I mean, a quick google search will tell you that the taste of water can and does change based on its container. So technically, you could still favor Dasani without it having much to do with the water itself, but the bottle changes things.
I guess but he still didn't like it in the Dasani bottle.
A high quality water tasting and a life lesson on who you can trust, what more could you want in life.
Worked at coca cola... The tap water in factory gets syrup added for soda or bottled to be dasani. Aquafina same in a pepsi plant! Its purified toilet water from your city

Fun fact for those who don’t know
Dasani has the most sodium out of any water, and places like carnivals, fairs, and flea market shops only sell Dasani bc it just makes you more thirsty and makes you go back and buy more

Worked at the coke plant in Elizabethtown Kentucky when they bottled Desani for local distribution. It was literally Elizabethtown water, just filtered.
So people would buy Desani at restaurants instead of getting filtered water from machines for free and was THE SAME WATER, BOTH FILTERED.
Desani is still local water to whatever city it is filtered in, just filtered. You could buy a Zero water filter and get the same thing.
Not true Dasani taste much worse than my local filtered water they throw minerals and shit in it which makes it taste really bad
Finally, a source we can trust! Jokes aside, love the video!
Honestly, though, they definitely changed the formula of Dasani because it legit used to be the best water; now it tastes like fish water, and I just don't get it.
They changed the bottles to plant based. For years my mom had my dad & I driving around to different stores to find the old blue cap bottles instead of the new green ones due to taste
looking forward to seeing you hit it big in youtube in the next few couple of years.
As a smart water guy myself, I’m glad I’ve been making the “smart” choice all these years
When the poll came up, my first thought was "Damn, I'd take Arrowhead over Dasani. And it's cheaper". And the reaction when Jordan liked the Dasani + Arrowhead the best in the blind taste test 🤣🤣 (and styrofoam makes everything worse too)

Living in Michigan we had 100% pure well water that was the most amazing water I've ever had. It wasn't filling and went down like breathing air. I miss it. I also learned a long time ago that pretty much any liquid varies in taste depending on the material you're cup is made of. Glass is far better than plastic, aluminum or styrofoam. Cheap plastics are the worse of course. So really all those tasted different out of those styrofoam cups than the bottles they came in. Even though you didn't try Evian, I wanted to share a interesting fact, Evian backwards is Naive.
You remember that they all came out of the *same* bottle, right?
Ahhh yes, the shallow sand filtered Michigan well. I agree - best water ever! I miss that water so much!
I am assuming you weren’t in Flint 😂
