Any award they've won is well deserved. What the brothers Grimm have been for German fairy tales, the Lovell sisters are for Roots Rock. They translate them into a music language we can understand and thus keep them alive. I am sure, they will earn an honorary doctorate in music history some day. Thank you Julie. Now I know which vinyl albums I have to pick again and listen to this weekend when the rain is pouring down.
Julie this version is outstanding. Thank you. LP's authenticity, genuine talent, and vulnerability are powerfully on display here. They are as real as it gets.
Thank you Julie! I saw this track on two concert recordings from them: New York Blues Fest., and KTBA (On the Mediterranean). Both are mind blowing. Of course, a concert is very different from a simple video recording where it's just the two of them. But that's what's beautiful about it: just Megan and Rebecca with their instruments and the music. No hocus pocus, just them and the music...😍😍🎸🎸
I love these recordings, thanks! 💙 I didn't follow them on socials back then, so I missed a ton of live stuff. Seeing this for the first time, love it!
That riff can also be heard in the original, composed by Willie Dixon, played by two guitar players, one of them (the brilliant solo guitar player) Hubert Sumlin, honored by Jimi Hendrix, but unfortunately not very much known today.
I don't think Lightnin Hopkins ever thought that this song would be covered by two white women, but if there is an afterlife he's smiling. Great job. 😊 🎉
Love Willie Dixon too. Love the Lovell sisters. Looks like you had as much fun performing it as I did listening. Howlin Wolf too. Ok- Etta James and Cream
I just discovered you ladies a couple months ago and it's so great to have REAL music again! I can't get enough of your sound.
two cute girls doing one of my favorite songs, what could be better👍👍👍👍👍☮❤
And that is how it’s done ladies! You killed it. ❤❤

I try not to give everything. Only the performance.
If you like them doing this song, check out the Blues Cruise version they performed with Joe Bonamassa. It's killer. 😻
@@audiophileman7047 For sure. That's the one where everybody fell in love with the Jeff Healey shirt I gave to Megan.

I wish i could day my algorithm brought me here but it was actually my obsession with Larkin Poe vs my 3 year olds obsession with Dan Bull 😂
It's important that I comment on what I'm thinking.
It sure is!
Never ever heard anyone talk about a spoonful. Just half empty, half full glasses. 🥂🍻🍷
Just learned Rebecca and Megan are performing here in April.
So excited 🤩
@frankboyd. Yeah. I just saw the tour dates. Nothing close to me.
