“No, he’s not that big, maybe 10” had me dying 😂. For most of us that would be a once in a lifetimer!! Love the videos. That last one you caught was an absolute monster 🤙🤙
I was about to comment the same thing haha “not that big maybe 10” bout made my heart fall out the back side 😂
great !
Awesome vid man! Can't not love it
Salmon mate.

Wild rose country in the house.
Are they in New Zealand??
how many rods have you broken when supporting it with your left hand in the middle of the arch like that?
Zero
One day I’m going to fly there and catch the monster of my dreams , my biggest trout in the US is in Virginia, a trophy creek that they stock and have natives in it was 5.86 pounds and 24-26 inches I didn’t take any pictures of the length so I don’t really remember but I have a picture of him on the scale , I can’t wait to come out there in the future to catch a monster !!!
love your videos, glass of wine and just fishing perfection. Thank you!!!
also love the music, but need more sax lol. also that jack was just perfection!
Finally some good fish for you guys and the last one fought well too, good stuff:)
Ever tried catching one of these whoppers on a dry?
At 1:52, fish 1 , human 0. 😅
Awesome work Adam and Gareth. Now aren't you going to hook me up with one of those hats Adam? 😅
Should be my new side hussle making and selling those 😂
How can you tell what sex the fish is please
My son would like to know thanks very much
Generally a male will have a longer jaw and a upward forming hook on the lower jaw.
Female has shorter straight jaw.
Does anyone know what river this is?
Good hell I didn't realize whales swam that far upstream nice work dude 👍👍🤜🤛
Hahah cheers mate
Great teamwork!!! Cheers
Cheers Greg
Where abouts is this river
Hey man sick video! What’s the rules around fishing NZ rivers are you allowed to fish and walk up any river?
A tiny minority of rivers have privately owned stretches (less than %1)… but it is illegal to charge for hunting or fishing rights so just ask the farmer… everything else is “queens chain” anglers access from any road bridge crossing the river. I believe that’s about a 20 yard access strip measured from the high tide or flood mark on both sides.
@@cameronsmith2594cheers mate
Awesome footage and great fishing. I for one enjoyed the background chilled music, went well with the videos.
Gday from Aussie, fckn incredible fishing. I've heard about some of these Sth Isl rivers. I'm heading to New Plymouth collect my kiwi mates from Taranaki hunting & fishing and heading your way soon. Thx for sharing your epic adventure. Go ABs you can beat Argentina....
Comment just to fire up that algorithm! Great vid Gareth
Cheers bud
Great piece of video, but why spoil it with the inane and repetitive background music? It adds nothing to the narrative, and just prevents those hard of hearing from concentrating on the commentary.
thank you! those fish are such beauties! works of art! also thx for the 4k. please keep improving the quality.
Man if i could afford a trip over there 2 fish i would. Watching these videos is as close as I will get lol.
Guys awesome sow greetings from New Mexico USA apache county ..
What's with the cutthroat slash's?
Not entirely sure
Dang! That kinda spoils a person right there! Froto, and underwater tanks… NZ is the place to be! Cheers to you!!
Gareth always a pleasure your vids..will be there with Dec couple months.cant wait...keep up great work
Perfect timing on the release of your video Gareth, getting super excited as i am heading down to that area next week in my camper to fly fish and explore, so glad i brought the two hander gonna try swinging big streamers to some of those fish and see what reaction i get...never know till ya try i guess. thanks again fantastic vid and some beautiful fish to the net.
Any tips for fishing a trout during winter in an area where the temp goes -30*C?
beautiful nature, beautiful fish, class 👍👍👍
Beautiful beasts. Why do they get so massive there? - and where is it?
That’s clean livin
Cheers mate
We don't have quality fishing for trout that size around here ,element video . Beautiful fish
Those are the most beautiful rainbows I've seen. Do you ever use streamers?
Incroyable ou se trouve cette rivière!!
So very awesome, very very awesome , would be super cool to see drone footage of the release
Is this north or South Island?
The South Island of New Zealand near Twizel.
Hard to believe they get that big. My heart would be jumping to hook into one half that size.
Cheers mate
Why don’t these fish fight like rainbows, is it the cold water temperature or have you stepped into an obese trout poulation?
@@olivertwist4407 These particular fish feed off of the Salmon farms and then head up this river to spawn, that's why they're so big.
Just awesome, so good to see you back in this spot, looking forward to the next one.
Cheers Mike
NZ Cutty! Who would have thunk. Crazy
Love the video, some really nice fish too.
that last fish was a fish of a lifetime! thank you for sharing!
This channel inspires me! Moving to New Zealand and can't wait for the amazing scenery and massive trout! I just caught my pb steelhead at 15 pounds which is massive for the area I live and to here you saying that a 12lber was just decent is mind boggling!!! So excited
There are some monsters… just to get some perspective though, the average trout in NZ would be a 2 3/4 lb rainbow - gazillions of them. Most back country rivers top out at around 6 lb trout but there are still loads with potential for over 10 lb.
Oh, also we don’t have sea run rainbows… we have king salmon (locals call the Quinnat), landlocked sockeye, brook trout & sea run browns…. To name a few
NWZ is an untouched paradise...
Great action! Good job!
Cheers mate
So good to see another great vid ! You are doing great work Thanks again !
Effort lads
Where exactly is this? That big of fish and nobody else on the river? Amazing, I want to go! Beautiful job keeping them in the water and quick releases👍🏻
Waikato river bro, great fishing this time of year
Well, New Zealand..😉. South Island. There are enough clues in the video and comments that you can work it out with Google and Google Maps. New Zealanders are particularly protective of fishing spots because publicly can lead to over fishing by visitors. From what I have seen and read, the fish are in this river for a relatively short time, and not the best time of year for a general vacation visit.
@@chrisc4527 you’re a better man than me haha
🤣🤣😂@@hamishparker8678
They raise fish in them rivers and the steelhead come in to eat what there feeding them and get huge seen a film on it a few years ago couldn't believe it wow
Super quality video and super fishing skills!
Great video….as always🏔️🔥💪🏼
Wild !! 😁
Nice video. I have the same fishpond sling pack. Very happy with it, but how did your friend attach the net to it on the outside. I use the sleeve on the inside.
My net handle is a short one. But it came with a clip that I attach to the plastic ring at the top of the pack. I used to have a magnet clip which was handy, but yeah, just have a manual one now.
One of the best videos I’ve seen in a long time. Awesome.
Do they allow boats in there ?
These are amazing fish man!!!
WOW! Those fish are amazing!
What's the name of the place?
DUDE ! YOU always show quality in your videos! WOW ! - I always look forward to the next one 🎣🎣🎣
Glad you like them!
Dude epic fish love these videos
jeese i wanna get there
The brownie you put back is a trophy fish here 🏴😂
Expat Kiwi in UK here… don’t sell yourself short! What about FEROX… British record in 28 lb from Loch Awe! Also you have all those beautiful wee Arctic char👍
Brilliant what else can be said
Sick! Maybe I missed it but, I'm assuming those are ocean going fish?
No there 100% freshwater rainbow trout and some brownies
Sketchy rocks!
Gonna need that fish hat
Greetings from Oklahoma. So are those lake run fish? Or natives?
Salmon farm pellet fish spawning up river
Looks like there's a lake down there? Are these coming up into the river to spawn?
Yeah they do come up between 2 lakes
Holy cow!! Monster trout
Unreal 👏👏👏👏
Awesome fish
What are these things eating? Near a hatchery or something? No way bug eaters are getting that thick
They do live in a lake where there is a salmon farm so there is that. But most of there diet is natural. The live in a hydro system so year round conditions optimal for growth
Beautiful as always. Great fishing. Nice video
Thanks 👍
👍👍👍😉
King salmon are running here in Wisconsin. That’s the closest I’ll get to big trout like this
Don't you have Steelhead there?
@@spikestern3237 yeah but they aren’t running yet. I guess I should have said “for now”
Awesome! 👍👍 Enjoyed 😀
Thank you! Cheers!
awesome video dude..just curious ..whats up with that cutbow?? you guys have cutthroats in nz?
cuttbows*
Iirc all the NZ bows come from Sonoma Creek in Cali. I'm wondering if these are coming out of a lake with good feed. I guess it's not a canal? @@uramag7
Pretty much. Cheers mate
Not sure man! There is some speculation there is some cutty genes in nz rainbows
@@TroutHuntingNZ I thought they were all Sonoma Cr, Cali stock and have steelhead characteristics. I think that's what they say at the Nat'l Trout Ctr.
Cool,they're Cuttbows
They ain’t… The stock in NZ is pure Sacramento River rainbow stock introduced in the 1800’s… I’ve heard that said for my entire adult life in NZ & also heard of the large (lake run) Taupo trout called steelhead… NZ just has plain old rainbows. They are however quite diverse in appearance between different watersheds (sometimes).
Sensational!
Cheers
Whether the fuc is this do called world best river?
