    I always bring two sets of clothes for when I inadvertently go swimming. I have had some epic ones too. Those fish, I can only dream. I like rainbows because they jump so much. Much respect and admiration. I call those type of fish river pigs. We have cutthroat here in Idaho as well as rainbow and they cross which makes a hybrid cuttbow, which rival those but not as massive. Great vid, loved the dunk because I do it too, river dancing!

    Hi Guys. Awesome fish. Please share some info on the equipment you are using. Rod weight? Leader weight? size flies? Here in South Africa we, I, fish in our drakensberg streams for browns and rainbows. Our fish are much smaller than your beasts but we still have great fun. I fish a 9ft, 3 weight T&T. Mostly upsteam Nymphing. Our rivers are small and fast flowing so I use a 9 ft 4X tapered leader onto Cortland 555 Floating line. we use Zak nymphs, flashbacks, GRHE and other imitation flies that are tiny in most cases. Great video...look forward to your response.

    • @TroutHuntingNZ
      @TroutHuntingNZ  3 года назад +1

      Well. When the fish is far away a high rod is still side pressure. But the main reason is this river has big rocks and holes. A low rod angle means more chance of a fish finding something to break you off on.
