Fluttershy's glittering carriage and jewel-encrusted dress gave Twilight hope that one of her friends was doing well in her new life. However, after learning the truth about Fluttershy's scarred throat and subsequent muteness, she, Applejack and Rainbow Dash journeyed to Rarity's mansion to find out what happened to their friend. Rarity is all too willing to tell them the story of her heroism in saving Fluttershy from a literal fate worse than death but Twilight can tell there is more to the story than Rarity is telling them. That is nothing, however, compared with the reactions of her friends when she utters the name Pinkie Pie ...

Aaaaaaah!! The monotone disappointment in Twilight’s voice during the big scene was so friggin good! Really made that great contrast between Rarity and her.

I agree! Twilight made the scene it wouldn’t of worked nearly as well if she’d shown extreme emotion that sense of defeat was captured beautifully! Bravo
@@ScribblerProductions101 I can't believe that Rarity just said, "FRIENDSHIP IS A LIE!!!!" She was just so cruel and unjust to her own old friends! And blaming Twilight and the others for HER own failure!! This cuts me deeper than any weapon ever could! What would become of the mane 6 in the next episode?
Rarity actually started out with good intentions, no matter how moraly gray she was being. She was not okay with slaves of any kind, but could handle owning a few non-pony ones if it would keep her whole family from poverty.
I bet she was planning on treating the slaves really nicely as well, maybe even set up a ”contract” in which they would have to work for her for maybe 5-10 years as payment for being ”saved”, and after that they would be free to go and the echonomy would hopefully be better.
This type of ”slave ownership” was really common back in ancient Scandinavia, and it sure does sound more humane than the other later version of it, despite only being marginally better.
What broke Rarity I believe is what she suffered through to free/after freeing Fluttershy.
I bet recentment started to build over the years as Fluttershy didn’t ”appreciate” what Rarity did for her enough, this of course being incredibly unfair to lay on poor Flutters.
She stopped being generous, because she gave to much and had to live with it, and the desitions she made because of it, for the rest of her life. She blames her desitions on Fluttershy, which is very unfair, but understandeble from a neutral pov. It is trauma speaking, not Rarity.
I bet she might even have taken out revange on Fluttershy during especially rough nights, fueled by alcohol and unleashed agony and fury. At least if she was indeed r*ped by those slavetraders.
It sucks what she has become, but it is understandable. That does not excuse what she has done, but she clearly is the result of her past. She did not truly choose to be this way, she was molded into it.
I agree. I'm glad she wasn't written as a 1 dimensional villain. You don't go from decent, normal person to heartless slave master over night. People become that way through time and circumstance, and only by understanding it can we combat it.
That's very true. Rarity has become molded into a monster because of the world around her. This doesn't excuse her immoral choices, though considering the slave traders made it hard for her to buy or profit anything for a while was a cruel weight on her back. In a way, she is right to be angry, having to cast away her generosity to survive along with taking care of Fluttershy.
Though on another note, she could've let the ponies she bought as slaves go after a few years of service and overall treat them more better. In the end, it's very tragic how she turned out, but maybe there's hope :,)

Although I'm sure it felt much the same as it was very degrading and probably painful as well, Rarity wasn't technically raped by the slave traders. She agreed and consented, on paper no less, to allow them to have their way with her as part of the price for taking Fluttershy with her.
The scene with the mule servant/slave leaving Twilight and RD as an act of remorseful desperation to escape cultivated an anxious feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach, thinking about what horrendous acts Rarity may have done to them to make them abandon their empathy for the sake of self preservation.
42:37 i love twi walking out on rarity. she understands that the bearer of generosity is dead and what's left is pointless trash, so she's abandoning her. twi even specifically says reuniting with her wasn't worth the effort.
i get the strangest feeling that rarity wasn't exactly telling the truth about fluttershy, after all, flutter is completely mute, rarity could say damn near anything and she couldn't object to it even if she wanted to.
I mean she can flinch, whine, nod or shake her head but Rarity told the story while Flutters was in another room...

This series so far has given me some Pre Season 3 fanfic vibes so far, I don’t know when this story was written but it feel nostalgic in a way plus being interesting and wonderfully tragic what if/au story and seeing where Twilight’s friends ended up after 6 years is freaking yet believable outcomes for them.
Yes this is just at the 2 year mark..
I managed to find the original fanfic and I read it. I won't spoil it but let's just say you won't like the ending...

IMO: after Rarity chapter the last two chapter felt rushed and specially the confusing mess that is Pinkie in the story to make/force Twilight to commit “game over”.
I do like how the audio drama added and rewritten somethings of the original story so it flow better and made it way more interesting so curious to see how they add or change Pinkie if they do but regardless that definitely really made both fanfic and the audio drama.

Now it makes perfect sense why Rarity's mansion was styled after an antebellum plantation house; she became a cruel, morally bankrupt slave owner.

She is also wrong about friendship it's not a lie, she just let herself become a monster. She'll most likely regret it in time when her way of making cloths, have slaves, and spent her money on useless things when she could have helped others and make things better.
I image when this gets out, no one would have anything to do with her anymore.
I don't know why but I got a gratification of satisfaction when her house burned down. She's definitely going to lose lots of profit after that ha!

As bad as those griffin slavers were to Fluttershy, Rarity was even worse! The griffins tortured Fluttershy physically and mentally yes, but Rarity was one of Fluttershy's best friends. And as such, Rarity knew how slaughtering the animals Fluttershy loved and cared for for the sake of fashion would affect her already broken mind and spirit yet she did it anyway. In a way, Rarity hurt and tortured Fluttershy far worse than those slavers ever did or could.

Who would believe that Rarity would cross the line by butchering rare creatures to make the best clothes? Is she one of the villains in this fanfiction?
I don't know, it's still 1% more humane than the alternative of straight up poaching them to make sure they are rare enough that nobody else could recreate it, effectively making them extinct. But only like 1%

Well I don't justify what she did. from my perspective about about this situation is she was probably gonna about to lose everything because she purchased fluttershy from slavery. This is why for me it's a gray area. But I totally lost respect when she flat out lied the whole time and just blamed Twilight whom wasn't he fault but kind but not fully

Rarity doesn’t surprise me with the way she turned out. Obsessions of vanity and personal insecurities are the cause. She isn’t completely gone though, as she put herself aside to take flutter away from her predicament. Very impressed with the character development in this collaboration.
Twilight’s response is how I feel about things these days. You can’t shout and retort your way out of things forever. You have to make peace with strife at some point and have confidence in your self. Perfect responses and very mature.

Rarity is perfectly ok with slave trade of other creatures, and after fluttershy, was ok with ponies as well... no wonder fluttershy was so terrified, I feel so bad she had to get assaulted every single day and night only to see her old friend, think she's going to be saved by her, only to see the slave market still around. I wonder if Rarity has also abused fluttershy the same as the slave traders, she is quick to lie, quick to cover up the horrors, I just wonder what will become of her.

I don't know why, but this last episode has really weighed heavy on me. I cannot stop feeling horrible about how this series had turned. It has really put a damper on my day.
I feel that Rarity's story is not as simple black and white as we are making it out to be. It's so easy to call her evil and all that. But, her situation seems much more complex than what appears on the surface.
She was true to her Element of Generosity up until that very fateful night. Her generosity had pushed her so far to give up nearly all of her finances and even further.....giving up her body.....essentially her life. But that's who she is. Just like in S1:Ep1 where she gives up her own beautiful tail to give the dragon a mustache. Her body was her greatest gift of generosity to Fluttershy.
But, like she said, "Trauma does things to ponies. It can make them harsher. Sharpen their soft edges into harsh angles." We've seen how all the trauma has affected Twilight, Apple Jack, and Rainbow Dash. As an Afghanistan veteran, I can definitely say trauma changes you. There are images that still haunt me in my nightmares after 11 years that I wish Princess Luna would take away. After spending 12 months over there, my wife has even told me, "You've changed". And that's not in an endearing way.
"Trauma does things to ponies". And unfortunately that night WAS that night. I cannot possibly fathom the endless hours of rape and abuse the both of them had to endure that fateful final night with the griffons. (I will always hate griffons now!) If Fluttershy's battered broken body is an indication of how bad it can get, I'm sure that the last night was the worst. They weren't going to let them go without something to show for it.
Of course as with anything in life, the ends usually do not justify the means. What she has become is simply repulsive. She made those decisions well knowing the consequences of them. I don't know what made her snap and transform into this "monster" everyone is calling her. Why is she so cruel to her fellow ponies? Why so cruel to Fluttershy after what she sacrificed for her? Has using up all her generocity embittered her this far? Desperate times call for desperate measures, but any decent pony would have limits. Rarity made a poor choice and now she has to live with that mistake. Her life attribute of Generosity has put her into a situation that has changed her life forever. That is the tragedy of this friendship!

@Annistar Thanks! I actually didn't become a brony until 2020. I wish I had known about MLP when I was deployed to Afghanistan from 2010 to 2011. It would have made an extremely hellish time much more bearable.
Now this episode hurt me deep. I was literally crying with Twilight after she slapped Applejack. And Rarity, she was so beyond cruel. She had it all, and now she lost it all. Fluttershy did the right thing freeing the animals. AJ and RD still solve their problems with violence, mostly Applejack. Now I'm looking forward to know what happened to Pinkie Pie. Great job on this Scribbler. To all of you

I mean, there's moments that we all regret but justify it for the greater good.
Rarity is on a money trip and deluding herself into believing it's for the sake of others, aj is understandable, even if wrong, so I can excuse it to an extent. I drew the line at her bucking RD near to death, bit knowing what her life has become, I don't fully blame her. Especially since we don't know the full story behind Pinkie Pie.
I think pinky is alive ....but she probably went crazy and ended up in the psychological ward..thats my guess
I know a lot of people don't like it, but I love that there are different art styles. It's so cool to me to see how different people interpret the same story and characters. How they envision the world compared to the artists before and after them. Well done to all the artists!!! ♥💛♥
Applejack became a hitpony, Rainbow became a suicidal drunkard, Fluttershy became a traumatized mute, Rarity became a full blown narcissist slave owner. I'm guessing that Pinkie either became a murderer, or her mind broke and now she's sequestered in a sanitarium.
Apparently Pinkie is the lord Voldemort of Equestria. Really curious to know her story now.
Kinda interesting that Rarity is the only one that hasn't changed physically or in her dreams and ambitions, yet she has changed the most in morality and values despite arguably going through the least hardship.

From rage, to sadness, to confusion, and to complete shock. Scribbler, you've out done yourself once again and I was seriously impressed by the quality of this video. Rarity every 5 seconds: OH DAAAARLINNNNNG!
Rarity turning out so terrible does make sense, if the Nightmare Rarity arc was anything to go by. She's afraid of abandonment, and thus when, in this series, that turned out happening, she turned her trust towards those whose hearts weren't in the right place.
I like how this episode takes that aspect of her personality to the extreme, showing her dropping her morality and sense of self for materialism, and willing to get what she wants no matter how terrible the process was. And unlike in the comics, there isn't any outside force pushing her, she's done this to herself.
We saw in the show that with the support of your friends and those you love, you can make your dreams possible in a way that helps everyone, and here we seeing the opposite end of that spectrum.
1. Holy sweet mother of God! The emotion I felt from this episode was so raw and powerful that my body is shaking!
2. Congrats Rarity you really have lost everything. Also, if Fluttershy did nothing they probably would've died in the fire anyway.
3. AJ you really screwed up. Not just with the house, but with Rainbow too.
4. All that's left is Pinkie's tragedy. How am I going to prepare for hers?
4:56 Rarity really has taken on quite the god complex with that center picture there.
25:13 Getting raped with Fluttershy seriously warped her into something truly awful. But, as disgusting as she has become, my heart still breaks for her because of what she had to endure to come to this point.
This story and it's sound drama adaptation keeps getting better. These AU future selves will remain in my mind for a long time. They're too... Real. Too accurate. The themes, narrative and story itself carries thought-provoking messages about real life and the characters themselves.

Agreed. The future characters are acting pretty much how I expected them to when I watched the first episode. AJ being an abrasive outlaw. Rainbow losing her self esteem. Fluttershy being broken and sad. Rarity being a rich asshole. Pinkie going insane. And Twilight hopelessly trying to keep everything together. The writing is pretty consistent with the show in terms of personalities.
This episode is so depressing and poor Dashie i hope shes ok and alive! But AJ...... she wanted to keep the secret away from Twilight... she did but ended up almost killing RD........
So it's all come down to this. The facades stripped away, and the darkness laid bare. Applejack, lost to a world she never knew was coming for her. Rainbow, destroyed her dreams and purpose. Fluttershy, broken to a pulp, and used as a slave mother. And rarity, so consumed by her mask that it has become her.
All that's left is the party pony. And I wouldn't be surprised if this ends with Twilight weeping over a grave, and a broken promise.
Though, all things considered, magic circles are still a possibility.....
If this is the amount of hurt and torture these 5 have been through, it makes me concerned about pinkie. By the opening it looks like she's been driven insane by grief, and it's understandable, considering the fact that twilight was presumed dead, and the rumors of AJ and RD being dead aswell, it's enough to drive someone as fragile as pinkie to go insane.
Either that or she's just happy to see her friends again, could be both.

I don't know about that, she looks worried/shocked to me. Maybe she's not the one who put her in the cage, but she's just seeing her in the cage, after all she implied she saved Fluttershy from something. There's hope for Rarity yet.

I’ve noticed several thinking perhaps rarity is the main villain from the photo we see on the video premiere however i don’t believe she’s completely the villain by the looks of the background the expression and appearance this seems to be before or at the beginning of rarity’s later cruel nature I believe she has become mentally if not physically harmful to fluttershy though it seems we will find out tonight what sent her into this state of mind and behavior and what has caused fluttershy harm and possibly why she is frightened of the name this of course is only a theory im truly very excited to see this episode tonight and happy nightmare night everyone!!

Goddamn...this makes me feel even worse for what might have happened to Pinkie, especially with AJ saying to Twi to not look for her.
I don't think Rarity is upset about her house or the dresses she created getting destroyed or the animals being free. I think she really upset about Twilight leaving her, and not checking on her. She had to do lots of things, even give up her own body to just help out a friend. She doesn't like that Twilight didn't think about them after all these years or never help them financially, or even try to fight for them. And I think she upset Fluttershy left her because she literally had to slept over with the slaver people to get Fluttershy freedom. I think she finally just letting out her emotions, and how hard life been treating her and she had to do things she never wanted to do to survive. I am not excusing her for her actions and decisions. She just felt abandon by her friends, and now even felt more abandoned because of Twilight and Fluttershy leaving. After all she did.
Damn, I wasn't expecting to cry at these parts, and I WORKED on this episode!!

I was just watching S1:Ep 23 "The Cutie Mark Chronicles" and it just made me more sad about how Friendship Is Tragic is turning out.

This episode is perfect. You Reap what you sow rarity. This episode was big Rollercoaster for me. I really feel soo bad for fluttershy and her witness of her creature friends being slaughter by the heartless rarity. This episode had some gray areas that I know some might agree or disagree. But rarity did make one good point, every pony had made mistakes and it would be no fair if one pony justify their actions. How far are you willing to go to help your family and yourself, do you leave your friends so they don't put a burden on you? Like I said rarityhad it coming and I hope she learns from it which I highlydoubt due to her true colors. Twilight should have kept quiet about pinkie bc Rainbow could have told her in private of what happen without Apple being around. My theory about pinkie is she hid herself in some dark place where no one could find her and cry bc she think Twilight is dead

Wow... Just wow. After everything these past few years have thrown at us, this fic reads very poignant and relevant as well as tragic. I'm sure scribbler and her friends will continue to have great success in their work, but this somehow feels like a finale; for the MLP fandom among other things.
Whether or not that's true, it's been a wild ride. As someone who hasn't been into MLP as a show for years, and who feels increasingly isolated in and embittered with an ever deteriorating world; I still find myself coming back to the amazing and dedicated work this fandom has presented to me. I'll definitely be here for the next part of this series, and however many more there are.
Stay strong out there everyone. No matter how bad things get, right and wrong never change. It's up to us to make things better or worse. God bless.

Certainly could be an idea, but if Twilight would actively have to look for her, she's somewhere secluded and Ponyville was apparently still around when Sweet Apple Acres existed, so it'd be certainly weird if she turned merciless but decided to leave Ponyville(unless she was exiled that is)
@@nameynamd9212 maybe she had denial about Twilights' death for a year or so, started to cope by baking a lot then accidently cut herself and blood fell in the cake batter, she took it out with some of the better wondering what it tasted like now, she tasted it and surprisingly it tasted better, she put some of her blood in it and bakes a cake and sold it, later the person asked what was different about the cake because it actually tasted better than usual, she started doing it more and more until she was caught then kicked out of town, she went on a few years making and selling her cakes/cupcakes before she is found out each time then kicked out of town of imprisoned for a few months, she starts slowly going insane knowing that no one likes her baked goods anymore and she starts kidnapping ponies and making them into cakes for her alone to eat, she thinks that if she likes her baking then that is enough to continue making them, she continues doing this while living all about the place, she has made a name for herself to the point people are scared of her, she is probably used as a story to scare foals/fillies like: "if you say pinkie pie three times she will come and eat you", and it actually scares people, since they all know she can just appear at random places at anytime the rest are worried she will show up if twilight continues to call her name.
Rarity's story gives me the same vibe as when Rainbow told her cover story about how she lost her wings. There's this attempt to paint herself as a hero that doesn't quite feel right. Of course, its way less obvious than when rainbow was clearly lying, and maybe I'm looking too far into it, but I feel like the beginning of her story was true, but things get a little muddy after she finds flutttershy
How many of you are getting the chills on wondering what happened to Pinkie Pie in this dark timeline? Could she be locked up for losing her sanity according to the intro? Otherwise, Why doesn't Apple jack want to even talk about her?

To be utterly fair...
most of the bad that happened to everyone seems to have been during the four year Coma so MOST of it really can't be blamed on Twi being gone... im pretty sure Rainbow, of all ponies, understands needing time to cope with what you can become.
This episode turned out amazing and wonderful...but also heartbreaking, i can't believe all the terrible things Rarity had done she had become a total monster although as much as i hate to say it, Rarity was kinda right sure she and the other members of the Mane 6 are all responsible for their past mistakes but Twilight made the biggest mistake of all by abandoning her friends which resulted in the ruining of their lives, and they are all too far gone to ever be friends again, unfortunately Twilight can't fix it this time...but anyway i can't wait for episode 7!

It's understandable if we look on Rarity's perspective in this scenario - You had paid several years of hardworks and efforts to acquire some achievement, but when society stability start losing control (Celestia dead and wars) and economy recession, not just your life affecting, but also the chance where you had done over the years may gone into wasted(which made them like you're doing literally nothing over years) and it could affecting your and your family lives! She may seek help from her friends, but it is obvious here that, neither of them nor Twilight show their support at the moment, because of their matters. Her lost sense does not purely contributed by her twisted mind, but also the helplessness she had at first, as no pony could helped and assist her.
Yet, what Rarity done can't justify anything about her monstrous act. The twisted heart had contribute too much damages toward not just the creatures, but also her representative spirit of Generosity and her only friendship - the last thing she really have.

As it stands, Rarity definitely seems like a lost cause. Pinkie...well, we don’t know yet. Applejack ran off, might not ever see her again. We’re down to Fluttershy, Rainbow, and Twilight.
Way I see it, one of the most hopeful outcomes is the three of them sticking together. One of the worst? Rainbow and Fluttershy going into exile together, possibly getting enslaved, and Twilight going back to Canterlot for good.
That is one massive cliffhanger I can’t wait for the next one this is awesome!
This chapter was even deeper than last one the way flutter shy came and rarity had to tell the story of what happened to flutter shy can't wait to see what happens with pinkie.
Judging from the conversation between Rarity and the Griffin, I think poor Fluttershy was raped multiply times by the Griffins. Just on how the Griffin phrased things like "She is our favorite" and "it gets lonely especially on winter nights". Then again it could be that Griffins love torturing ponies. But Rarity doesn't seem to have any scars from being tortured for one night, so its possible that she both had to use her money and her body to get Flutters from them

@@idontknow144 I just went back to check through that episode and I see what you mean, however in that episode there are a lot of strange background ponies that don't really make sense and seem like they're easter eggs from the artists.
I love how Rarity is a total monster but you can see all the genuine (but in no way excusable because oh god) little ways Rarity struggled, so you can see how she piles them up to make it justifiable in her mind. Having a hard, horrible life doesn't justify having slaves, but Rarity's repeated it until she believes it.

I hope it comes soon. I must know what happened to Pinkie. From the sounds of it, I thought maybe she, ya know, died from her own hooves if ya know what I mean. But Applejack's final words saying not to look for her and the intro suggests she's alive but is in such a bad state that they cant even bring up her name or what happened to her. Like how do you get worse than slave traders and animal sacrifice for fashion?! I simply cannot wait for the final episode! Beautifully written Scribbler 🥺

It's never stated as such, but I got the impression that Rarity used Fluttershy in the initial acquisition of "materials," before she started breeding & raising them in captivity. Fluttershy couldn't talk, but she could still use The Stare. With how much Fluttershy felt indebted to Rarity, it would probably be easy enough for Rarity to guilt her into capturing a few. How horrible she must have felt when she finally realized the full impact of her own actions, and how long she must have waited for an opportunity like this, to set them free.
Looking forward to next weeks episode and the thrilling conclusion.
