Full Blog Post: coachhelder.com/vibram-furosh... Coach Helder reviews the Furoshiki shoes by Vibram and explains why they may be a great primary or backup trail shoe.
I was able to come in second with a soccer player doing pacers. I just didnt wanna continue xD he asked what i did to last so long. (I didnt exercise then.) Said i like running and just thought of ways to conserve energy
They are really good for the gym, no one is going to talk to you and interrupt your training. Literally NO ONE will talk to you while you are wearing those.
I just got on an incident with my bike and im quite surprise that vibram classic managed without a tear though i have felt it taking some damage during the incident. I think im going to get this one.
Thanks bro, I just saw these, as I've been out of the running game for a few years since my discharge. (Knee injuries) I'll have to get me a pair. And get back into it
I wore inserts from the time I was a teenager through until just a few years ago, and it took me that long to realize they do nothing and go no-where as afar as health benefits go. They are a useless waste of money and by the time I stopped using them my feet hurt so while wearing them I couldn't even walk my dog around the block. I decided I would never go back to the foot insert place, I had no interest in arguing with them or attempting to get my money back. I stumbled upon vibratos being discounted heavily at a outdoors store and bought a pair. I was able to strengthen my feet to where they no longer hurt while walking and haven't had a problem since. I find the shoe itself you wear is the most important thing, there are good one and bad one's and everything in between. Support is key, especially with regards to the firmness of the material they use for the soles. I wear a pair until they just get blown out and have nothing left and they need to be replaced. These vibrates you've got look fantastic, didn't even know they existed. My favourite is running in them, but it has to be on grass for that added level of softness that can't be found on concrete. Great stuff!!
These might be good for me for reasons you probably wont have thought of (no reason why you would) Im a wheelchair user and for one thing i prefer a softer shoe as theyre kinder to my sensitively skinned feet. but the main reason i think they might work for me is to be honest sometimes there are occasions, mostly around my house, where i have to get out of my chair and shuffle about a bit as my current house isnt 100% accessible (been in it since i was 2, im used to it), if i do that with 'normal' shoes on more often than not they come off my feet, i dont think these would. And when having a shuffle about i can risk scraping skin as i did not long ago, i think these would protect against that. glad i saw this lol.
I don't know why but reading your comment made me imagine a guy in a house using railings on the wall to go around fooling people he can walk. Peace, take care sir.
I have been thinkin buying these shoes, but someone in youtube said that its impossible to run in those, because your toes kind of escape from the beginning of the shoe (sorry my english :D) I would like to hear your honest opinion that how does toes stay in place
I’m a triathlete. I use water shoes. Body glove. I just buy an inner sole from Walmart. The body glove water shoe is zero drop. And minimalist. But very cheap. The sole doesn’t last that long. I’d say 4-5 months......I’m not saying this in any way is better than vibramS just live in a place where they are not available in any shop and I don’t want to buy them online. ......well, water shoes have served me well, they are cheap and because they are zero drop I have had no injuries for two years......I kinda feel that all brand name minimalist shoes are grossly overpriced.
There are several cheap options if you're running on flat pavement, but for uneven ground, something more stable is needed. Don't know if these shoes fulfill that, but Walmart water shoes do not.
Aloha, I've been wearing vibrams for several years these are very interesting. I use mine for hiking, running and Standup paddle, it's actually pronounced veebram my buddy has a store here in Vegas. Thanks for the video.
this helped! im currenly also dealing with a ripped off acl and a damaged meniscus (i have reconstruction surgery in a few days) and im looking into barefoot shoes too to train my knees. i am leaning more to the fivefingers kso evo but its good to hear your experience! btw, when did you started wearig barefootshoes after your acl injury?
I would say that you have to look at these shoes as offering "zero" protection against the cold or even wet weather. They would make a good outer layer for traction purposes but you would get little to no protection against the weather elements. I hope that helps. -Hg
stekusthefishhunter ...look at the different websites that sell this brand, they also sell neoprene insulated boots in different shaft heights by the same brand. I hope that helps!
The hiking vibrams I have get fairly cold by comparison to regular hiking shoes/boots even with wool socks. Even moving around a lot, your feet are going to get cold in the snow (unless you're a Wim Hof disciple or something :).
It is recommended for everyday use? I walk to work and to home everyday. Its around 10km/day moderate walking. I hate sandals, so i always wear shoes even in the hottest summer day, but i really like this shoes.
hey brother! fellow marine here. just getting into the minimalist footwear. starting with the five finger but I might have to buy the furoshiki. thanks for the review.

are the sole and heel made of the same rubber? I landed a pair of white on blue and found that the sole is nearly as stiff as a hard plastic, yet the heel was grippy
Hello Darren, the heel and sole are one piece, made of the same rubber. These soles are definitely flexible as you saw in the video. They are not made from hard plastic. There is definitely some traction and grip on the soles that work quite well on the trail. I hope that helps. -Hg

Would you recommend these as a semi-casual shoe for long term use? I'm a peace corps volunteer who has to walk at least 8 km on a daily basis and can't really afford to spend a lot on shoes that will wear out fast, and the tiny tread has me iffy on this.
They certainly are built to last. The tread is thin when comparing them to a hiking boot. But as far as minimalist shoes go, this is some of the thickest tread that I have seen. I have a pair of Vibram Bikila's that I used to train for and to run the NYC Marathon in 2011. The tread is much thinner on the Bikila's than the Furo's and I still use them for hiking & running. I hope that helps. -Hg
Thanks for the feedback; it is appreciated. I generally go with a size bigger but these are one of those "personal" items so everyone will have their individual preferences. Hello Edmond, for me, these ran true to size. Reference the website since it has been a while since I purchased these in case Vibram changed things. Good luck and let me know what you think if you pick up a pair. -Hg
Hello Jack, I would definitely take my VFF's over these for those activities. The fit on the VFF'S is more precise so they handle those activities a bit better. I hope that helps. -Hg
They are comfortable enough for everyday use. It is just a matter of personal preference and daily lifestyle. Only you can make that decision, PickleJuice604. Let me know if you end up getting a pair and what you think. -Hg
Yea I have se vibrant shoes as a everyday shoe to really make sure that my arches and other foot muscles are at peak, though they do get a lot of attention so these are a bit more subtle
I think these will fit me much better than my komodo sport, my toe lengths are weird. Just tried them just now, most comfortable shoes so far, probably because I have absolutely no arch in my left foot .
hey Zeus, curious as to how these have held up over time and would you still recommend them for extended walking time for people with a collapsed arch?
It's tough to say, Fabiozwei. I really liked these shoes but I also do not have flat feet. Everyone is built differently so what works for one person may not work well for the other. The only way to truly know is to give them a try. -Hg
Furoshiki is the Japanese term for wrapping of clothing. These are wrapped footwear. I have them. A pair for home, a pair for travel like when I’m on the plane and in the hotel. Nice.
No, these are designed to pack small and dry quickly when you get them soaked. Hiking is for five fingers model. But if you have weak feet and would want to climb rocks and steep hills you need ankle support so go for Salomon or other trekking shoes.
+Mrnjaou That is not good advice. If you want to do some class 3 terrain or just steep hiking, you are much better suited with low cut shoes. You need the flexibility. Higher cut hiking shoes are best for longer trips on class 1 terrain. For hiking on rocks, steep terrain, or class 3 terrain go with either approach shoes or low cut hiking shoes that have a contact patch on the toes (flat spot on bottom underneath the toes with no tread for maximum traction on rock).
Hello July, I'm not sure how well they will perform for you as far as dancing goes. I guess it depends on the type of dancing as well as the floor that you are utilizing. As far as shin splints, It depends on the person and the cause of the shin splints... many variables come into play. I have seen people with shin splints benefit from minimalist footwear and I have seen others who's symptoms seemed to worsen. Sorry I couldn't be more help but I do not want to give you false information. -Hg
I got some skate shoes because I liked the way they looked, however, I noticed that they were extremely comfortable and different from other shoes because skaters need to be able to “feel” the ground/deck through their shoes to perform certain tricks. With skate shoes, It feels like I’m walking around in just my socks but I have plenty of grip and they don’t have to look like ballerina slippers.
I'm in search for another S3 safety anti puncture boots for everyday use. What I'm doing here is still mystery. However, I'm scared after watching these although almost all of my boots have Vibram outsole.
@@NTCReviews 2 month update.. i upgraded to the newest style, and its all i wear. people laugh, and ask wtf are those... i'm like they are a type of japanese wrapping sole made by vibram.. its like walking barefoot everywhere, and i dont feel them on my feet with great traction.
@@jamesbeer9886 Hi James, Would you reccomend going a size bigger, smaller, same size than with other shoes? According to the online guide on their website, they recommend going with usual size. My foot is 27cm long, from heel to big toe what would equal exactly a 42/ 9.5 US, so i would then ideally gor for a 43 in the usual case, should I go for a 44 instead? .5 or 1cm play? Whats your experience? Cheers and Thanks in advance.
Hello Michael, they may be a bit to much "slippage" when they get soaked. They are fine when exposed to water for a bit but for the long haul, they may not suit your needs. I hope that helps. -Hg
That was one of the only issues that I had. I do sweat a lot and definitely had some slippage during those longer, hotter runs. I began adding the toe socks for the longer runs and that definitely helped with that issue. -Hg

I have a couple of pairs and although they are very comfortable to walk in there not great for running. They slide and it may cause blisters on your toes.
hi, these look great, oddly enough, they are similar looking to the shoes I was looking for which fold up. Anyway, yes these look great as I walk miles with my dogs and I have one foot a whole size larger than the other, so with the way they work, like wrapping around the foot would work for me. Btw ... I actually like the way they look ... rather quirky! Have shared on facebook page.
Stopped wearing shoes about 8yrs ago, feet get used to the outdoors, get weird looks on the occasions I have to go to town, but I wouldn't go back to shoes
I saw a barefoot guy on the tube (subway) here in London and asked him about it. He said he was doing a week or a month or something barefoot for charity, but had started to like it. We had a nice chat. It's OK to ask as long as you do it in a friendly way.
Have yet to see a better (especially minimalist) shoe company then vibram 9.5/10. Would recommend. Would be 10/10 if they were viable for use in urban environment, you are however bound to get pricked stuck with something like a needle if you wear these all the time and get careless.
It's pronounced VEEBRAM, after it's Italian inventor Vitali Bramani. He developed it in 1937, to replace the leather and hobnail soles used by mountaineers. Regards. addendum: Teva isn't pronounced TEEVA. It's TEHVAH. Teva is a Hebrew word for nature.
Misterhelmet fucking speech Nazi You know everyone hates people like you ! Hell I bet your wife can't stand you she's only sticking around because she's trapped . Have you ever walked into a room and everyone kinda turns around and leaves ? Well there's your sign
@@banjobones8075 No it's Vee-bram. The manufacturer pronounces it this way. I pronounced it the incorrect way for a long time until I saw the company representative say it themselves.
Guys if you are looking to purchase these buy them off the wish list app. The official vibram site sells them for about 110. Wish sells it for 20+(depending on which deal you come across) they look exactly the same as the original. They even come in a vibram box and the little bag. I've had them for 3 weeks now and have used them for crossfit. They are still in really good shape only thing is that the bottom rubber is dirty(what do you expect).

I’m honestly thinking of these as my normal shoe I use everyday, and I’m also thinking about them for parkour. Would these be a good choice?
Go for the ones with toes, you get more grip amd more side stabilisation. For Parkour, I would prefer something that deals better with the impact.

No, these are designed to pack small and dry quickly when you get them soaked. Hiking is for five fingers model. But if you have weak feet and would want to climb rocks and steep hills you need ankle support so go for Salomon or other trekking shoes.
Vanessa VanAlstyne hike the vegas strip? 😅
+Mrnjaou That is not good advice. If you want to do some class 3 terrain or just steep hiking, you are much better suited with low cut shoes. You need the flexibility. Higher cut hiking shoes are best for longer trips on class 1 terrain. For hiking on rocks, steep terrain, or class 3 terrain go with either approach shoes or low cut hiking shoes that have a contact patch on the toes (flat spot on bottom underneath the toes with no tread for maximum traction on rock).
is this suitable for dancing? I have hard time with shin splints and I don't know if these are good for me?:))
Sorry I couldn't be more help but I do not want to give you false information.

hello! are they good at sliding/gliding on tree floor? i do hip hop dance!
These would not work well for that purpose because you will get too much friction and traction from the tread on the soles.
I hope that helps.
-Hg
Juli You might try toe raises to strengthen your calves.
I came here just to ask, what are those?
I got some skate shoes because I liked the way they looked, however, I noticed that they were extremely comfortable and different from other shoes because skaters need to be able to “feel” the ground/deck through their shoes to perform certain tricks. With skate shoes, It feels like I’m walking around in just my socks but I have plenty of grip and they don’t have to look like ballerina slippers.
I've found the exact same thing. A good fitting skate shoe is the way to go.
Can you recommend a brand? I thought skaters just wore old school sneakers like Vans.
Skate shoes may be comfortable but they don't allow proper foot muscle development/exercise and keep your foot in a more confined space.
I'm in search for another S3 safety anti puncture boots for everyday use. What I'm doing here is still mystery. However, I'm scared after watching these although almost all of my boots have Vibram outsole.
I'm getting a pair for the gym.
but which is the best?
How are they for walking on rocks in the ocean?
I juat got mine today, great fit lightweight breathable and even contour to my arch in my foot by design of "The wrapping shoe"
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, James!
Great to hear, James! Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

@@jamesbeer9886 Hi James,
Would you reccomend going a size bigger, smaller, same size than with other shoes? According to the online guide on their website, they recommend going with usual size. My foot is 27cm long, from heel to big toe what would equal exactly a 42/ 9.5 US, so i would then ideally gor for a 43 in the usual case, should I go for a 44 instead? .5 or 1cm play? Whats your experience? Cheers and Thanks in advance.
Are these ok for long distance running? For 30+ miles a week
The shoes will definitely hold up to long-distance running for quite a while.

Have you tried them while riding your bike?
Hello Miguel, I have not. But as long as your pedals are not too jagged and rough on your feet, you should be fine.
-Hg
Do you recommend this foot wear to medical students and other healthcare professionals?
I sure would, Eduardo. We are all built the same regardless of profession.
-Hg
thank you
You are very welcome, Eduardo. I'm glad that I could help.
-Hg
If i ever saw my doc wearing these shoes I would drop him.
Ed Irías fuck no
I've started a pressure washing business to make a little money on the side, do you think these shoes would be OK with all the water?
Hello Michael, they may be a bit to much "slippage" when they get soaked. They are fine when exposed to water for a bit but for the long haul, they may not suit your needs.
I hope that helps.
-Hg
can u use them for work out?
I certainly do, Calvin.
-Hg
I'd get a pair, not my style, but I can see how they would be pratctical for some things.
do they allow your toes to expand?
Hello Cherlana, they have a wide area in the front which definitely allow my toes to expand.
-Hg
Fantastic, thank you - looking forward to seeing if they are good for the 'slow jog' system. ❤️🇦🇺
Thank you Penny and good luck!
-Hg
Are they?
Thanks!
Glad that you found the info helpful.

I got out of the military a year after you got in.
Does it hurt when the road has a lot of rocks?
Nope. I like to walk on gravel with them, nice foot massage.
I sweat a lot, do they slip when you sweat?
That was one of the only issues that I had. I do sweat a lot and definitely had some slippage during those longer, hotter runs. I began adding the toe socks for the longer runs and that definitely helped with that issue.
-Hg
I have a couple of pairs and although they are very comfortable to walk in there not great for running. They slide and it may cause blisters on your toes.
Can you wear these in Rain?
One issue I had is that they are prone to tearing because how thin that material is
That’s my concern
Are these shoes washing machine safe?
These shoes look very techwear/urban ninja-ish tho.
Wtf does that mean even
I'm sure they are since they're waterproof
How is toe freedom
Looks significantly easier to get into and out of with sweaty feet than the five fingers.
hi, these look great, oddly enough, they are similar looking to the shoes I was looking for which fold up. Anyway, yes these look great as I walk miles with my dogs and I have one foot a whole size larger than the other, so with the way they work, like wrapping around the foot would work for me. Btw ... I actually like the way they look ... rather quirky! Have shared on facebook page.
Thank you for taking the time, Jules!
It is appreciated!

Stopped wearing shoes about 8yrs ago, feet get used to the outdoors, get weird looks on the occasions I have to go to town, but I wouldn't go back to shoes
Shorne Pubique wish i had the courage to do my shit without thinking what the people gonna think
Ner' Zhul But there's a lot of nasty shit outside and even dangerous stuff like broken glass that you night run into without noticing.
Would be 10/10 if they were viable for use in urban environment, you are however bound to get pricked stuck with something like a needle if you wear these all the time and get careless.
who the fuck walks on needles regardless of what shoe you are wearing? And yes, I live in a big city
What kind of a hellhole do you live where you need to constantly watch out for h needles?
so what you are trying to say...... is...... a well placed frozen muck luck... will... work as a contraceptive?
these look awesome for being in water
It's pronounced VEEBRAM, after it's Italian inventor Vitali Bramani. He developed it in 1937,
to replace the leather and hobnail soles used by mountaineers.
Regards.
addendum: Teva isn't pronounced TEEVA. It's TEHVAH. Teva is a Hebrew word for nature.
ima keep saying vibram just like i say motzarella
Im thinking about buying these but they are not suitable for autumn/winter
Vibram (Veebram), is an Italian company. Pronounce is "Veeebram".
Thank you for the clarification. And you mean... The "pronunciation" is "Veeebram. ;-)

Misterhelmet fucking speech Nazi You know everyone hates people like you ! Hell I bet your wife can't stand you she's only sticking around because she's trapped . Have you ever walked into a room and everyone kinda turns around and leaves ? Well there's your sign
Natural Training Center e sound rather than I sound but not a long eeee. There are rarely long vowel sounds in Italian:)
No. It's Vibram ( Vye Bram)
