    Have you ever tried the Komodo of KMD LS? They need to make galoshes. They need to make pull over sleeves that hook on the toes and covers top of the feet for when you take your significant other out for a classy evening. My late wife would've liked that. I compromised and wore dress shoes or dressy cowboy boots.

    I still have my old Trek LS black. They’re still my favorite weekend shoe. I’ve worn them to church often. They’re still holding up after all these years. I’m eyeing the CVT leather as an eventual replacement. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    This was an awesome review you did of the five Finger shoes. I am a die-hard fan of the Five Finger shoes. I have pairs going back all the way to the classics. The only old school pair I can't get my hands on was the Sprint and that was because of my foot. I have big very very extremely wide feet. I am a sz15 6 EEEEEE wide with very fat wide toe that are equally straight across making my foot 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. My foot out Groove shoes and socks 33 years ago which pretty much FB barefooted 👣 year-round until five fingers came around. Now the only two Footwear that I can only wear now is five fingers and flip flops which barely and I mean barely will fit on my foot because my toes are wider than the Flip Flop strap. Everytime I go put on my flip-flops the strap get caught up between my third and fourth toe which makes it very uncomfortable. It is frustrating sometimes because it takes 3 to 5 minutes sometimes for me to put flip flops on and when I do get them on both of my little toes hang off the footbed of the flip-flops but don't touch the ground when I walk. That's just how wide my foot is which really sucks having a foot this extremely wide. I love the Five Finger shoes cuz they keep that Barefooted 👣 feeling. I was born with very extremely wide feet as a baby & grew up being barefooted 👣 or wearing flip flops for 95% of the time. I only wore shoes and socks when it was 20 or 30 degrees outside other than that I was barefooted 👣. Even when I was in school and the temperature was 35 or 40 degrees I was still wearing flip-flops to school all year long. The school named me ( flip flops boy ) when the five fingers came out a buddy of mine told me I need to try them out because they were straight to the width of my foot. I thought my buddy was talking crazy cuz that that time I could not find a shoes , sock , or boot that was wide enough for my foot. I tried the KSO fingers on and I was shocked that I was able to get my wide foot in the shoe. The only problem that I did have at that time and I still do to this day is when I go to slide my toes in the pocket my toes are causing the pockets too bulge out. You can definitely tell big-time where my toes are sitting at in the pocket from it bulging out. It's really really is embarrassing sometimes when people ask me about the fingers and can see just exactly how fat my toes are in the fingers. & then I have had them to ask me since my toes are that fat how do I get them in the pocket. And with my toes being equally straight across the fingers fit just perfect. This is one reason why I am a huge and I mean huge finger fan because they are wide & fat toes friendly & that is something I really really need. Man this video is so awesome man. I apologize for this being so long I just got really excited to see that there's somebody else out there that love 5 fingers like I do. I have a couple of friends that like wearing them but they not a true die-hard they still will wear shoes and socks. I never thought that I would had to live my life Barefooted 👣 style because of my foot going to be very very extremely wide. Awesome review sir. Thank you so much for making this video.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.

      Hey, thanks for commenting. I love hearing from other people with an unhealthy obsession with toe shoes. :)

      I’m still stuck on the fact that it took 3-5 minutes to put on flip flops. Sorry bro, but I call BS on that no matter how wide your feet are. You literally just have to slide one strap between 2 toes & you’re done!

    Thanks! I've worn 5-fingers within a year or two of them coming out but do not have varied experience with them like you do. My favorites are the Bikilas with the velcro. They aren't easy to find, but I get them like you do, from people who bought them and don't wear them. I wear them everywhere and run in them on hard surface mostly, but sometimes cross country through the woods and across trees over creeks. As you say, they are no good when it's wet or real cold in the winter in the ice and snow. At first people thought they were cool, but then all of the nay-sayers who say they are no good for you and to buy theirs with the big toe box and lots of padding yada-yada-yada. Once in a while someone will ask and I'll just say, it's like a glove for your foot that allows it to work as designed without hard surfaces wearing the skin off your feet or grinding junk or carcinogens like tar into your skin. I don't like the toe socks, so for me the drawbacks are:
    1. I clean my feet before I put my foot into them an after week's wear, I throw some soap in them and move my feet around in them when I take a shower, then rinse and let them air dry while I wear the other pair. If you wait until they get stained and dirty you have to work too hard to get them clean.
    2. If you go to someone's house and you take your shoes off, I need to bring socks. Of course if you go bare foot with sandals you have the same issue.
    3. They don't work for biking because your big toe snags on the crank every time around.
    *If people don't like what they see, that is a thought they can carry around with them. I don't let that occupy space in my mind. Like you, if I don't wear them, at church people will ask, and I will need to explain "I rode my bike", "because it's wet", "they aren't good for winter weather". I haven't looked at other 5-fingers so it's good to hear what you like. I was hoping to hear something warm, but it sounds like that's not in the cards and going oversize with toe-socks in one of the warmer ones is the only alternative.
    *At a Power & Love Conference I learned Todd White wears 5-fingers all the time. (However, I'm a Berean and not a man follower so I don't know much about him and only heard him once during his time slot there and that people said he is popular.)

    Hi, have you reviewed the newer VFF CVT leather and Eco? What is your recommendation on proper sizing? If all toes just fit except one (little toe squeezed), would you keep those and make the shoe stretch with time, or size up and have extra room in most of the toes? Do you recommend sizing up enough to wear socks with most VFFs? Thanks for any experience you can offer on proper sizing!

    • @RevRunRegan
      @RevRunRegan  3 года назад +2

      Great questions. I have so far been unable to catch either the CVT-Leather or Eco in my size in stocks so I can't speak to them yet. I want to get both so I'll review them when I can get them. Regarding sizing, I've found that in most cases it is worth sizing up if you have what I call a "rogue toe" that's too long. Most VFFs are made with man-made uppers and they just don't stretch that much. The Hemps are the exception and they stretch nicely. I'm also a fan of Injinji no-show socks because they keep from any hotspots or stink, and I've never needed to up the size to accommodate their socks. Hope that helps

    • @sfs-bn4ow
      @sfs-bn4ow 3 года назад +1

      @@RevRunRegan Thanks for the info! So overall, do you buy your VFFs with a slight amount of extra spacing at the end of the toes, or should the toes to be just touching the tip? I’ve heard VFFs should fit like a glove, but is there a rule of thumb to have at least a small amount of spacing at the tip of the toe sleeve?

    • @RevRunRegan
      @RevRunRegan  3 года назад +1

      @@sfs-bn4ow Yes, you want as little space as possible without your toes touching the end. Otherwise they will feel either cramped or like the toes are falling out.

    Am liking the idea of a the cvt hemp as an everyday shoe but I’m guessing they’d need washing everyday just like socks. Or do I need to be wearing fingertoe socks too?

    • @RevRunRegan
      @RevRunRegan  3 года назад

      They don't need washed daily. But eventually they'll stink and you'll want to wash them. I get some no-show Injinji socks to help keep from the stink.

    Question? What summer version would you recommend for walking "not running" on concrete streets?

    • @RevRunRegan
      @RevRunRegan  Год назад

      I think for walking I would suggest the same ones as running. V-Runs have that little bit of foam that would probably help in walking and would go with them unless you really want the super minimal sole of a KSO Evo.

    • @Alan-xz6wm
      @Alan-xz6wm Год назад +1

      Thanks, my 1st pair is the KSO Evo and they are great. Just don't know how the tread/sole will hold up. Will check out the V-Runs.

    • @RevRunRegan
      @RevRunRegan  Год назад

      @@Alan-xz6wm The KSO tread will hold up fine; it just depends on if you want a little more cushion when walking.

    my v-run are 45... for the CVT HEMP should i stay with the same size in your opinion ?

    • @RevRunRegan
      @RevRunRegan  2 года назад

      Many people go up a size for CVTs. I have kept my same size and given them time to stretch. The hemps will stretch more than any other Vibrams, but they'll definitely be snug at first.

      I’m probably late to this comment, but if you haven’t bought VFf’s yet, you’d be best with the KSO classics or the V-aqua. They both will set out quick as they’re made from materials that are meant to go into water.
