Only 12 seconds in so far but awesome... I'll be back... Back. Great vid! I'll definitely be doing this, if only to improve the standard rail locomotive turning circle. Massive improvement with one cheap mod. Where did you manage to find some brass wheel weights? And are they heavy enough to make a difference? Great vid Sid, look forward to the next one ✌️
Hi Buddy! Thanks a lot for your kind words 😇 yeah, the turning radius was the biggest issue with this rig and this pretty much solved it. Link below to the wheel weights I used - XUNJIAJIE Brass RC Wheel Weight Block Counterweight Upgrade Parts for 1/10 RC Crawler Car 1.9 inch / 2.2 inch rim www.amazon.nl/dp/B07F2YKNT4/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_0FNAYBG84D03YSNW4MYP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 They each weight 70g a piece so 280g in total. I must say they are heavy enough and get the job done. I had to fit them on the outside of the wheels as they won't fit in the inside. You already have the screw holes to fit this on the inside so I took the very small drill and removed the ends of the screw holders on the other side. This allowed me to fit the weights on the outside. I was a bit skeptical at first on the looks but it does look good with them on. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Always happy to help😀✌️
Someone did this to their FTX outlaw, didn't hook up a servo, just used it to give some sideways suspension on bad landings. I might go the full dumbo switch on my vrx octane xl though
Nice modification! I recently changed the transmitter / reciever in my FTX Mauler to a Flysky GT5, which has several options for controlling rear steer.
Thanks mate! I also got the Flysky GT5 recently where you have pre programmed modes for 4WS. It's good but I still prefer to use the channel 5 or 6 knobs to be able steer both ends independently. This gave me a bit more control when going through tough rock crawling lines. For doing trail runs though, the Flysky GT5 4WS options are perfect 👍
nice presentation! by the way, is your ESC internal BEC able to handle the additional load of the rear steering servo? or did you also install external UBEC?
Hi, i didn't see where the long 'ball studs' are used and can't see this part listed on the manual front axle diagram? FTX MAULER BALL STUD (LONG) (6PCS) FTX8794... can you confirm if these are needed to be ordered? Is it actually meant to be the Short ball studs FTX8793?

Good catch buddy. You are right it is supposed to be FTX8793. These go into the steering rod ends.
