I have a few that I've been using for 2+ years, and never knew the rubber part should be removed for cleaning until I wondered why my water was tasting more and more off. I just checked, and they're all 🤮. Anyway, I'll definitely be cleaning those parts separately now!

So we don't take out the rubber ring? Would it not get mold underneath?

Great question! You can remove the rubber ring inside the lid to clean it but don’t need to for every wash or when you put the lid in the dishwasher.

Is the rubber gasket ring difficult to get out and back in? I have had a heck of a time with others in the past then they seem to not seat right when you put them back etc.
