I have always "felt" unaccepted and depressed since young age, and music has been an inseparable companion. I started with pop, rap, moved to rock, and then house, techno and finally Indian classical music. There is some honesty that I feel in these sounds that inspires me. It allows me to shed my tears in my presence, with my self as a witness, without judgement. Oh how I long for you my beloved, I cry for you so you could soothe me, and be with me. My tears, my redemption, all an excuse to be with you my beloved.
This is so beautiful! Totally understand what you have written. I also began with popular music and rock in my teenage years and then classical music came into my life. It comforted me like nothing else. From then on, I haven't looked elsewhere for solace. Glad you have found what you love and what can comfort you.
This Raga resembles Raag Maand but has subtle variations making it unique and beautiful, particularly when rendered by the great Vidushi Kishori Amonkar. Dr.Gopal

Originally a meera bhajan, this elaborate khayal shows Kishori Tai's immense calibre.
Actually it was composed by Hridaynath mangeshkar for lata ji. And Tai used to sing his compositions so maybe inspired from that
