The very _booking_ of Steven Burns on _Figure it Out_ as a panel member was brilliant. He was one of the few celebrity guests other than Lori Beth Denberg who played the game straight and didn't try to ham it up.
Watching this episode reminded me of one of the reasons why I loved this show as a kid: most of the "secret slime actions" are complete bull. I died laughing when I saw "having an orangutan bring you clues."
By this point, the show's judges could only accept answers from panelists that were *exactly as written* on the board. This was a rule patch from the first season, where the judges were more lenient in accepting synonyms for words on the board. In the first episode to be recorded, the second guest's talent was "Burps a Christmas Song" (he belched _Jingle Bells,_ by the way.) Lori Beth Denberg asked "Do you burp a Christmas...carol?", which the judges took.
When the show first aired, the judges would still give the panelist the word as long as they at least guessed a synonym. Unfortunately for Steve, that rule was changed very early on. I feel bad for him because he did basically win, but it can't be helped 🤷♂️
