Would have loved to see him take over for Dick Clark on "The $100,000 Pyramid" in 1991. The winner's circle was as dramatic and suspenseful as the obstacle course, and I felt his hosting style was very similar to Dick Clark at being great at running the proceedings (as traffic cop) while injecting (often dry) humor where needed! Also applies to Pat Sajak and "Wheel of Fortune".

Right, I always thought so too. The OG Double Dare you could tell was on a tight budget and wasn't well lit. Super Sloppy Double Dare upped the productin values but IMO it's peak was easily Family Double Dare. Something about the family dynamic.
Good thing I remember this episode that ended with an obstacle course win at 2 seconds left to spare. i wonder if anyone could the one of those past Nickelodeon airings of the same episode.
Dude that theme though, transports me to summer in 1992 in Pasadena playing Megaman 3 on the NES and watching Double Dare. Life will never be so simple. This was literally one of the coolest shows on tv at the time and I’m surprised at how well it still holds up.
I always remember Harvey more than Doc...nothing against him. I did like Harvey more, probably because they always showed him at the end of the episodes and I guess it made him feel more like he was part of the show. I dont ever recall if they showed Doc. I also remember the one episode where he came back and I think he had his newborn baby. Good memories
My theory for Doc doing FDD and LOTHT’s updated consolation plugs is that Doc was an Orlando local and radio DJ so that may have been why. For Nick Arcade and What Would You Do’s updated consolation plugs (promotional in WWYD’s case) it was a female announcer, possibly Nick Arcade’s announcer Andrea Lively or it may have been Robin based on the voice.
@@retroflashbackdudeI can now tell you it was Andrea that did the updated promotional fee for Arcade and WWYD, since the latter never had one in their entire run
@"TR47", yes, back then, 1990's "Family Double Dare" game show had Mr. Marc Summers as its previous host just as his former studio announcer there was Mr. John Harvey[though usually called only "Harvey"]!

I must give credit to blue team’s youngest daughter for convincing her family to be on the show and what happens in the end? They win all those wonderful prizes. Good going Daring Dunhams.
