Marc Summers actually approved Jason Harris as host, and still has nothing but nice things to say about him as host 25 years later. Marc had issues with the executives who "had no idea what they were doing."
I feel so bad because Marc was virtually one of the big reasons why the franchise got praise in the first place. I’m glad he co-hosted the 2018 version for a second chance.
I don't think there's any evidence Nickelodeon actually "regretted" this show. The only reason why it lasted one season was because Nickelodeon had this planned out years in advance, but by the time the show premiered, the new administration had taken over and were not interested in doing game shows anymore. They just wanted to get this show out of the way and be done with it, regardless of how it did ratings-wise.
I like how Marc Summers gets cut off in the FBI warning screen saying “It’s a new VCR!” but then he gets cut off by he network sign on clip before he can finish saying it and the teleprompter can finish typing it on the screen since all the nicjsplat sign on bumpers have the teleprompters trolling the Nickelodeon stars by typing their words after they read the caution disclaimer.
I'll have to disagree. I didn't hate Double Dare 2000... Most of the criticism I've heard came from people who didn't like the added Triple Dare Challenge. It sucks to hear about the bad blood surrounding DD2K behind the scenes. I always loved this version's set design and music.
I'm in the same camp. This absolutely could have flown if the executives had any clue about pacing. The set looked good and I was fine with Jason Harris as host. But the Triple Dare Challenge really bogged things down in the second half of the front game, and it always led to only a handful of questions being asked in that part of the game. It didn't feel like Nickelodeon Double Dare, which had always been known for rewarding general knowledge and physical skill. That's where the Triple Dare Challenge took a lot of heat. Making the show 45 minutes could have helped with that, but there really wasn't anything else to back it up. Unfortunate really.
I didn't hate it either. I liked the music enough, but it was very understated. It wasn't loud enough in the Obstacle Course, I think. I did enjoy the rendition in the ending, at least.
I was only nine years old when the show debuted and honestly I didn’t think it was that bad otherwise nickaloneon wouldn’t of Greenland a second season but I do not think it was given a fair chance and that’s why people talk so badly about it because compared to the original it didn’t have that big of a run
I watched this version when this aired back when I was a kid. I enjoyed this version so much. Jason was so awesome as host. I don't understand all the unnecessary hate with this version...
The other episode where a team wins by doing barely anything. I kinda like the first season due to having some good episodes and high scores The second season is where it drops the ball due to so much padding and not enough questions(example: there was never more than 1 challenge in a round due to the instructions taking forever). Also only 6 teams got $600 or more compared over double that in S1
Personally I don't think they shoulda won either. The anchovy mechanism was triggered before the clock hit 0 IMO. It wasn't their (blue teams') fault it came down slow. They shoulda been given credit for completing the challenge. If that happened on the original, I bet Marc woulda given it to them.
I'm sure that Marc would get a ruling from the judges that the challenge was not completed correctly. On the old Double Dare, a few teams got disqualified on a physical challenge, like for not standing behind the line.
Agreed. It always seemed with Marc if they pulled the trigger, hit the target, etc. before zero they won; even if something was too heavy for a contestant or malfunctioned. Blue team got screwed.
The second pizza was dropped and picked up. The third pizza was picked up from the floor as well. I don't know why Jason didn't say something like "that one doesn't count." It doesn't matter if they got the anchovies in time or not.
Technically, the blue team pulled on the cord before the buzzer, so Jason was wrong for saying No. another screwed up loss by DD 2000, and another example of why this was the worst version in the history of Nickelodeon!
Uploader you're so ignorant and incorrect with the title. Jason Harris was personally picked by Marc Summers, and I think he was a great host. DD2000 was actually pretty good and it only ended because Nickelodeon at Universal Orlando was starting to close.
I regret watching this version. I loved Double Dare as a kid. Marc Summers was a great host, he was a legend. Looking back on this version since I first walked away and at last realized that it wasn’t the same show I was attached to in the 90s. I may have been wrong but at least I learned something from in my mind about fully realizing if this might have been a good show for me to watch or not. The feeling of nostalgia.
Why not have the real Ben Savage (you did run Boy Meets World credits at the beginning of this video for some reason) host DD2000 instead of this look alike/sound alike wannabe guy?
That's actually Jason Harris. He did take over for Matthew Broderick as the voice of Adam Flayman in the Bee Movie Video Game. Harris also voiced Bill Dickey in the pilot for the failed Adult Swim series, "Welcome to Eltingville". He was also the voice of Chad Dickson in Codename: Kids Next Door on Cartoon Network.
The video content is very worth learning!I have a side note:Someone sent me a usdt and I have a recovery phrase.:(laugh nominee buzz game expose field wash shoe world sadness bicycle grain).:How should I turn them into Bitcoin?

Fair argument especially the “get it done” portion.
It technically had two seasons it just that season 2 aired in late 2000 for like 20 episodes.
Which administration are you talking about? The Cyma Zarghami era?

Fun Fact: Jason Harris also provided narration for the game Animal Genius on the PC and later on the DS rerelease.

It's Nickelodeon, not Nickaloneon!
I liked that it was on the air. It wasn't the same, it wasn't GREAT, but it still had the Double Dare feel to it.

The blue team should have won the triple dare challenge since they pulled the anchovies in time.
I think it was a slight malfunction with the lever too, so I’m on your side in this case.

Wow, this was so awkward! It's as if no one involved in the show thought through how any of this was supposed to work.
Had Blue Team won the Triple Dare Challenge, the Red Team’s $75 would have been augmented to $200.
Honestly, I may Not have liked the show as a kid but now watching it again, It actually grew on me lol.
This was my first Double Dare I’ve watched. I knew about the classic ones but this wasn’t as bad for me.
Referencing John Sterling. No surprise, he used to sell hot dogs at both Yankee and Shea Stadiums
Technically, the blue team pulled on the cord before the buzzer, so Jason was wrong for saying No. another screwed up loss by DD 2000, and another example of why this was the worst version in the history of Nickelodeon!
You are right that it was pulled in time, but they only got 3 pizzas. 2 of them were picked up from the floor, and she tossed them the wrong way.
honestly I’m with the peeps on this one, not a bad show, just not given a fair shot. Tiffany and Jason were a team.
Am I the only one that came back to look at the prizes
Don’t quite blame you for doing so.
I remember DD2000 and the game was very slow-paced.
Only won because the blue team F-ed up and was stupid and took the Triple Dare. I'm sure 25 years later still haunting them.
I don't know what's the hate about this version lf Double Dare I thought it was good as I grew up with this one and it looks pretty fun.
Aside from the Triple Dare Challenge, this was still Family Double Dare. No massive departure from the source material
If they tried the same kind of dynamic with Jason that Marc had, it would’ve been criticized as forced. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t
Uploader you're so ignorant and incorrect with the title. Jason Harris was personally picked by Marc Summers, and I think he was a great host. DD2000 was actually pretty good and it only ended because Nickelodeon at Universal Orlando was starting to close.
I appreciate the constructive criticism, but I will have a video addressing your ideas with a reasonable bias.

Why on earth would they regret airing this episode?
Well, despite how the red team did virtually nothing in the main game, Nick regrets a lot in this series, especially its direction.
Why not have the real Ben Savage (you did run Boy Meets World credits at the beginning of this video for some reason) host DD2000 instead of this look alike/sound alike wannabe guy?
It’s insane how many people DIDN’T confuse him.
The host sounds like Matthew Broderick
