Thanks - had a 2019 version and loved it but hated the shiny material; good revision. Would love to hear about the new Macro Puff and how the two compare to the Das Light, Arcteryx Atom and Arcteryx Nuclei series (assuming they are also released for the winter)
How does the 2024 Micro Puff compare to the new revised Arc'teryx Proton Hoddie for warmth in a no active state in cool temperatures? For use while traveling basically for casual use.
Incredibly informative, as always! How does this compare to the Nano? Is it warmer? Do you think it’s worth spending the extra money for a similar jacket? Keep up the great work!
A 2004 Micro Puff pullover is still my go-to quick cold layer. Cut big like a Snap T so it goes over any & everything. Don't know who made the 10D shell back then, but the 80g Polarguard Delta still performs. At the time I think it replaced the Puff Ball.
Great video as always Sean, I was wondering if you’d managed to get your hands on a Patagonia R1 Thermal full zip Hoody? Not a lot of reviews or info about that at all at the moment, would be really interested in a video! Best regards from London!
Thx for the insight 👍 How does the Micropuff compare to the Patagonia Alplight Down Jacket, especially in warmth? Had and loved the latter for many years, using it around 45 - 50 F range, wanna get a replacement and really like this colorway of the Micropuff.
You know, that is a great question! I kind of assumed that REI would have this, but as I just checked today (10/30/24) I did not see it. Very strange. Maybe they will get it in stock soon. It is a Fall 24 piece. Maybe their orders will come in soon?
@@rpearce1475 Ahh, well if you are up there then I might reconsider. The Micro Puff Storm is great. I have a few from over the years. In your case, I would go with that. Especially if you found a good price on it! It is a little larger (in my opinion) than the Micro puff or DAS Light.
$356.55 including tax.
The updated version is so thin that it feels like a light windbreaker. The warmth is insane. Fantastic review
Great, as always Sean.
Thank you! I appreciate that 😊
Great review as always!
Great insight.. My collection of these jackets is increasing. Love to see more about some of their super light, highly breathable’s
Heck yea! Glad you are enjoying yours. I have some of the UL Nano air gear that is really awesome 😎. Stay tuned!

That is really awesome! Testimony to the build quality too! I remember Polarguard :). Classic!
When they truly stop using PFAS chemicals not saying they are going too, then and only then will I support them.
wanna see the black diamond solution hoodie to compare to the nano and micro 🤘
We can do that!
Drop pockets FTW 🤗
Heck yea!! More storage for more sandwiches 🥪 😆🙌🙌

Hello from across the pond!
I have not used the R1 Thermal... yet. I can look into that!
Thx for the insight 👍

Can you please review the Patagonia Stormshadow parka 🙌
I can sure look into it!
@@Engearment thank you 😊 🙏
What temperature range do you use this in??
upper 20s - 55F
@@Engearment Thank you!
Drop pockets!
Drop pockets!! LOL
Do we know if REI will sell this updated 2024 version?

@@Engearment I appreciate the response! I'll look for it at REI this fall. Great videos btw!
@@Engearmentwe can buy this in Australia for the summer
How would you compare this Patagonia micro puff to the outdoor vitals nova pro jacket?
Micro Puff is lighter and less insulation. Nova Pro is larger, longer and warmer.
@@Engearment is there a Patagonia jacket that compares to the nova pro?
Nice jacket, but unfair to me i wareing size s and have to pay the price as you.
For use as a static insulator when splitboarding, would you recommend this, the updated DAS light, or the micro puff storm?
Great question! Either this and a shell or DAS light as the one and done (thanks to its waterproof ness)
But I also run warm. For what it’s worth.
@@Engearment thanks! So steer clear of the micro puff storm? I found it on decent sale. I am in the PNW so pretty wet
