I remember this one time. Times were tough. I had just started a new job. My kids mom (wife) had bailed on us. I had to stop at the store and get some milk and some diapers. I hadn’t eaten in like 2 weeks. My card got declined cus broke. I just froze and was staring at my kid. This lady behind tapped me on the shoulder and said she would pay for it. I couldn’t talk. Then she asked me if I had eaten lately. I still couldn’t talk. She paid for the milk and diapers, and asked me again if I had eaten. I finally found my voice and thanked her and left the store and then tears started down my face. Like ugly cry tears. Ma’am I haven’t seen you since that day. But thank you. You have no idea how close things were for me then.

This song hits so many of my life experiences,knowing that when i walked out the door, nothing ever was going to be the same ,,,i tried for so long to keep my family together,,but one day i just had enough and nothing i did or say could change the demon she had become ,took my sons and i honestly believe she didn't realize the three of us were gone for a few days ,,,addiction, betrayal, didn't want my sons to watch their mom as day to day it just got worse .Look trust me i definitely am no saint by no means.but i wasnt gonna let my boys witness the disrespect i endured that one day was gonna end real bad for her .and land me locked up.13 years its been since i left the keys on the table ,my boys now are young men, their mom comes around every now and again.honestly it was the best move i could have made for them ,
Man life is hard enough but making life changing decisions for them boys was so easy as hard as it was .Id do it all again because they come first, this song just hit a little to close tonight
Really hit home for me tired of getting high already thanks to a bastard that refused to adopt my daughter thought the man loved me he just used me is all he did

Its ironic how something I grew up hating became the same music I'm hunting for now. When hearing these being played and sung most my life until a few years back, I didn't care about what the band or song was. Just really wish he would put that guitar down and shut up. Now I'm going through a bunch of bands I don't know looking for songs that I remember him playing and singing. Just to remember his voice and those goofy facials expressions. Happy birthday bub. I remember this song on our last family camping trip.

I got out of a verbally, mentally and physically abusive husband. And now I'm with someone and he has some same traits. He gets mad bc of me talking about good times in my past. I was with my husband from the time I was 17 years old till I was 42 years old. This new guy makes me feel so bad at times and tells me I don't think it's going to work out between us, bc I don't t do some small things he wants me to do. Like to not talk about my dog I left behind and sad stuff. But my therapist told me I need to. I just feel like I want to jump off a bridge, or into the water and let go of my life. I feel like all I do is hurt the people I love. And I have no were else to go. I fell like I'm wast of space on top of that I have epilepsy seizures that don't help.
