Hey chewy, could you do a video where you do a voice over of a sparring session? Just to tell us what's going on in your head while you're rolling and talk about why a technique did or didn't work. I think that would be really cool.
One thing I always make a point to do is celebrate the other guys victory when I lose in a roll. I try to be extremely positive and affirming on all things that he or she did right, and when you do that you give them permission to celebrate without becoming arrogant. Then when you have a win and are graciously them, they will often do the same for you.
Hey Chewy, I have to admit that you're channel is becoming one of my favourite bjj channels. You are insightful and fun, but more importantly your clear love and feeling of family with guys like Adam really warms my heart. Keep up the amazing work.
hy chewie. last week i visit another gym to train more than one day a week. i train for about one year now, without belt attitude. at the end of the class the purple and the black belt wanted to roll with me and i just did my thing what i always do. survive... defend...sweep...getting position and try a neck choke. i'm a very small guy body type mostly like marcelo garcia, his style fits perfect to me. love this dude. but i cant say that i changed my style. no i thing even i got more into it.
100% totally agree back in the day we used to go with Walt Bayless and we were like Pedro Sauer guys They were all these really cool because we can actually work on different stuff have fun it's kind of like wrestling in a different school but not having to wrestle with the same guy you rest with all the time
Hello Professor... I have a question. Im a purple belt and am based in India . We don't have a Indian Black Belt so most of us are mainly self trained. Are there any good instructional that you would recommend for people self training? Btw I love half guard but keep getting stuck in quarter guard. Some recommendations/options would be great. Thanks, Sid (India)
The schools and actually do become robots when you go there too they have purple belts don't even know how to do like Umaplata from different positions. And if you show something like that to get pissed on the edge how could you do that they say?
I can tell the difference types of schools right away when I show up for an Open mat. Theres the Wrestling BJJs , the Judo Bjjs, and Leg Locking Bjjs schools that only focus on one of those types and you figure out how to beat them quickly. I love to go to Different academies all the time for open mat.
Would anybody be able to give me advice on how to get a good night's sleep after jiu jitsu. I get done with my class around 8:15 PM or 8:30 PM if I stay and roll. by the time I shower and eat it's around 9:30 and there is just no way I'm going to sleep with the adrenaline and everything else running through my body. I've reduced the blue light and brightness of everything in my room, but I'm really starting to think it's turning into insomnia because I'm not able to sleep on my days I don't have my night class either. Any advice would be much appreciated. Chewjitsu, keep up the great work with these videos they're very helpful.
Ice your “injuries” or areas that feel worn before you take a warm shower, then at the end of the shower turn temp slightly cooler. Icing has really changed the longevity of my training. But yea some weed might help you as well 😂
I would love to visit this gym; I absolutely admire you as a speaker and BJJ practioner. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge bro.

Plot twist: it's not Adam's voice, it's an overdub!
