So beautiful 🥹🥹 and so glad someone FINALLY made a cost effective marker set.
I also have not used markers in ages but I do use grayscale markers in my sketches.
I might get it and a few colors just for fun.
Thanks for spreading the word about this!

Nice 👍 May have to give these a try - not done marker work for a while, will have to dig out the marker paper and start doodling! Thanks for sharing and inspiring 👍

It's fun watching you work with alcohol markers, especially since you seem to mostly stick to watercolor and ink. Even though you may not have been 100% comfortable with them, it still turned out well. Thanks for the review.

I have these - my first foray into alcohol markers. They are sweeet - really nice colours, great variety, the bags are good, the cases are good, they come with cards already labelled to do your own swatches. The pricing is incredible especially compared to Copic. I like the brush tips the most. Teoh great work on your channel tonnes of great advice found here.

Yeah. The pricing is really good compared to Copic and the quality is comparable. Copic must have put a big markup on the prices.

i've always used Copics but they are SOOOOOO expensive, but from what i have seen and heard from people who use Ohuhu is that their markers look, feel and perform just as good as Copic at a much more reasonable price.

FINALLY! A unbiased professional review by someone who understands the product and media associated with alcohol markers. I’ve used xylene and alcohol markers since (gulp!) 1977, so I’ve bought/used more brands than I can remember. The Prismacolor brand of artist-grade colored pencils work the best, as does rendering of colored construction paper. Great review.

I’ve been hearing a lot about these markers lately. They are definitely priced better than the Copic markers. I’m just not a marker person just not sure how to use them. I’ve only seen them used to color in adult coloring books.

It's possible to buy 99% alcohol (ethanol) and you can use that with cotton swab sticks to blend these kinds of markers.

When I'm not using my Ohuhus, I store the zipper case on its side. No messy ink that way. Thanks for reminding me to pull my markers out of storage and have some fun!

@@minty380 In the video he showed how ink can build up in the cap of the marker if it is stored vertically. It gets messy. If the markers are stored horizontally, gravity does not pull messy ink into the tip of the marker.

For value studies 'on the go', you could buy three gray markers, a light one, a medium one and a dark one. That's not too expensive and they're easy to carry with you!

I think they’re good but I hate the cap colors that don’t match the ink and the numbering makes no sense to be. I wish they’d fix that

Can you recommend the paper for using ohuhu markers? How much gsm can prevent marker bleeding? Ohuhu is a pretty attractive markers set, at a great affordable price. Do you advice using marker paper or a thicker gsm sketchbook, which is better? How do you think we can get the best value out of ohuhu markers? I'm interested in ohuhu markers yet I'm troubled by bleeding as of any alcohol markers. Sorry to ask the above questions, I'm only human😅, I mean I'm just a beginner 😂

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  11 месяцев назад +9

Even thick 300gsm paper will suffer from alcohol ink bleed through. So it's not about how thick the paper is but how the paper is treated. Anyway, markers work better on smooth paper. Having a piece of paper to separate the pages will help prevent alcohol bleed through significantly.
If you use sketchbook, you can get their Ohuhu marker pad which doesn't really use marker paper but the quality is good and they have included a plastic separator sheet.

Thanks for the advice. I just ordered the ohuhu marker pad and ohuhu marker 24 colour. Since I'm testing, I bought the 24 colour.

@@TheArtOfJerry Highly recommend the 300 gsm paper. When coloring, you need to move very fast in order to prevent the bleeding. Ohuhu sketchbook paper is ok as well. You just have to color them a lot faster than expected.

I bought the 320 set. I’m sorry I did. You can’t find refills. When I did it was $12.00 for ONE REFILL. I HATE their dishonesty. Also finding just one pen is impossible. I think it’s a scam.

The refills are $4.00 on the Ohuhu website, they have single markers too.
