Thank you so much for these insights- as a main lander, I've been learning so much about Hawaiian politics and cultural perspective- mahalo for these discussions and enlightening voices.
What these people fail to address is that the time limit set to file a claim for these kuleana lands did not expire. To solve the problem that all Hawaiians were not able file by the dead line and for future generations of Hawaiian to file a claim it was by law mandated that it would be a condition on title on all lands. So you have Hawaiians awarded lands of 25 up to 1000 acres from the king with allodia title by a royal land patent. Because of the condition on title with native tenant rights reserved it obligates him to give a 1/4 acre to some other Hawaiian that makes a claim within his lands. If you read all land title it says the title is subject to Native Tenant rights. That right speaks to kuleana claims. When they say Hawaiians were confused and did not understand the land systems that's bullshit. They knew their right to make a claim would not expire and that it was more profitable and advantageous to not make the claim but purchase other lands. Check out the land records and you will see large tracks of lands recorded with multiple people on title because it was done through Hawaiian coops. It was not that Hawaiians did not understand the land system. It was that the foreigners (white man) did not understand the Hawaiian land system because it was different from theirs and benefited the Hawaiians more. The illegal overthrow helped these foreigners change the system to now benefit them for profit and did away with awarding kuleana lands to Hawaiians. Try and tell the U.S. fed, state or county gov't that as a Hawaiian you want to file a claim for your kuleana land and they will laugh at you and say they don't have to recognize your right. It's all bullshit. There is a basic flaw and defect in the chain of all land titles in Hawaii. It's called and illegal overthrow. Because it was illegal all land titles transferred from that point forward are defective because you had criminals conveying title and not the legitimate government.

You Americanized Hawaiians need to realized No treaty means no transfer of lands. If you want to be American Hawaiians you need to familiarize yourself with the US constitution and how private lands cannot be transferred without due compensation. Let’s talk about the crown lands like Mauna Kea. Those lands belonged to the Crown. Who paid the crown for the lands on Mauna Kea to use them for astronomy?
Oh yeah no one. There was no due compensation. The crown lands were illegally seized by force and fraud. Just like all the lands the US military are. You cannot address the legality of Hawaiian land ownership without addressing the Act of War America committed against a neutral friendly nation and it’s government.

The description of the early 1840s land division is one of the best I’ve heard. That 10 years was so important in how Hawaii evolved politically and culturally and is understated in many discussions of Hawaiian history.
It is horribly, reprehensibly demeaning and alas, immeasurably harmful to those of Hawaiian ancestry and The Aina Itself, to have to fight, and battle, for Their own Lands, in their own Ancestral HomeWorld.
If nothing at all, Such Theirs, left unattended by that Hawaiian Family, should be untouched left to return to Natural state, as Bird and wildlife ecosystem sanctuary (wild Green Space). Where trees and Vegetation grow lush.

The issue that is being ignored here is the problem that ownership transfers between Hawaiian owners in the 1800s were often not properly documented. So the contemporary owner, in order to get title insurance or financing, must pursue a quiet title action against unknown persons just to cure the ancient breaks in the chain of title. This is far different from the evil action Ing cites and wants to legislate against. He has tunnel vision on only one of a number of land issues that can be cured by quiet title actions. So his legislation is merely a shot at Zuckerberg and ignores the many other situations where quiet title actions are not the evil actions these people talk about.

there should be a cap on mainland people and foreigners coming here and they need to be monitored if their not from here they need to fly back home after 10 days of visiting thats how you keep people out from destroying hawaii it also would keep traffic down and bad things happening here and set steep consequences if not obeying.

in my 41 years from birth I've watch our island go to crap its actually the government their the main ones whos messing this island up with agenda 21 they already started it with rail transit, biki bicycle, solar farms, windmills, going green, population control and reduction, gun control, all of this is part of that agenda 21 and if you research agenda 21 its a REALLY BAD thing to have here it will change our lives forever especially if you love freedom. search it on you tube they have many videos about it as a matter of fact watch this women's presentation on it

The ""rights of Native Tenants" were gathering rights and cultural practices on less than fully developed lands. It had absolutely nothing to do with land ownership. Read the "PASH" case of 1995.
These people lie to you. The State if Hawaii has absolutely no jurisdiction over patent land's. They must have proprietary ownership first. The State of Hawaii only has what it ownes outright and no jurisdiction over any lands or patents. It's a matter of history and law.

When Carlos Andrade gave the eulogy at my father’s funeral, and to my person he claimed he had no idea that my parents were divorced, and had separate last will & testaments. That Carlos claimed there was no will on file recorded, and used an obituary from the Star Bulletin to recognize my ohana, mind you it was my grandfather, and great grandfather as well. Mind you Carlos lives a mile away from me, and came the day before all of this went viral. One mile away, and my father lived in my home, Where I single hardly cared for my dad in his last years on earth, in my home, that I single handily

One more piece of information . My son is the descendent of Hattie Kupihea the last living kahuna from Kauai, and his grandmother is of 100percent Hawaiian blood. He has never felt any kind of feeling of ohana from my cousin, and questioned his integrity as a Claimed Hawaiian blood line. It might have been his English blood that took over. What is Carlos Andrade’s Hawaiian blood quantity 6 percent ? I’m guessing.
