I bought the upgraded version, and I added one two cards, nix lotus and vampire nighthawk. I was surprised by how this deck preformed, I had my opponent go from 37 life down to 2 in one turn, it’s taking some time to remember all of the triggers, and get the proper math. Overall great deck, really fun to play, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to get into commander. This is my first commander deck ever.
Oh, Vito... I love this card. He's helped me so much in my Orzohv life gain deck on Arena and I have been loving it. I am so glad that you did a video on him!
i have a pir and toothy aswell, it's more combo related as in isochron scepter and dramtic reversal with big a finisher like walking ballista and/or hangarback walker. it's and really dirty deck. if you're interested i can send you the current decklist, mind, this is not a cheap deck ($270)
The deck seems great. Have been a big fan of life gain/drain decks for the last 2 years. Some cards i would prioritize is Command the Dreadhorde, Aetherflux Reservoir, Bolas's Citadel, Wall of Blood (as this deck is weak to commander damage).

I play Vito in a black/white deck. Lots of white spells that allow life gain, and lots of white cards that can trigger and create tokens (angels and griffins). Lots of black and white creatures with lifelink synergize well.
I've been mapping out a Vito deck for a few weeks and then I see this. Considering the last couple decks I made were a few hundred, Ill let my wallet rest and make this with the upgrades. Always love to see fun decks like this

Building this deck now. Found Erebos's Intervention in my library from There's bd. Instant. Cost xb. Choose one: - Target creature gets -x/-x until end of turn. You gain x life - exile up to twice x cards from graveyards. (I'll pick the first one everytime really) Card is listed around .59 cents!

A high-end pay-off that's become an almost auto-include in my black decks is Vilis, Broker of Blood. Turning damage into cards on top of being a beefing 8/8 flier with -1/-1 pinging all for only $1
Two of my close friends play mtg and they got me/another one of our friends hooked on it. They haven't played in years either but they had some well made decks from years back. Me and the other guy who just started playing got destroyed with our makeshift decks. We have been hooked for about two months now on mtg and we ordered some custom decks. I just got all the cards in the mail for this deck, while my friend bought an insane token deck. We can't wait to 2v2 our "Better friends" with our combined power and show them the power of the newbies. Thanks!

I don’t think exchanging life totals triggers Vito. It works like that sorin pw, when your life total becomes 10. Essentialy, no one “loses” or “gains” any life. Correct me if i’m wrong, but I’m pretty certain about this.
Very nice deck tech indeed! I really like your decks have been more flexible recently with the budget. You dont have to try and fit every good card you can into a $50 deck, this video and others like it show you dont even need *that* much to make an very powerful and synergistic deck.
Crypt Rats with Lifelink where x=2 (7 mana with Vito or just 2 with Whip of Erebos)... Doesn't kill Vito but if there is say 15 creatures, 3 opponents in play that's 38 life gained, several critters killed (which may cause other life gain triggers like Blood Artist), and you get to dome someone for 38.
I wanna combine this with the K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth deck. A lot of the cards are similar/ overlap. K'rrik as my commander to cheapen mana costs, Vito to make sure my opponents are always losing more life than I am.
I recommend sengir, the dark Baron. This creature states that if a player would die this turn. You gain life to what their life was at the start of this turn. So if an opponent would start the turn with 20 life and then somehow died. You gain 20 life. Then you can use it to drain life through vito.
I built an Ayara deck before Vito was spoiled. It was a rat colony deck with life gain shenanigans. Vito was an instant add in. It's interesting to see how similar the decks are.
Been juggling around the idea of building Teysa aristocrats and putting Vito in the 99 or just building around Vito... Still undecided, but Vito as a commander sounds fun. It's like a burn deck in black...
Necropotence (or other similar repeatable *pay life* activation ability) into a landfall trigger of Eternity Vessel could make for huge nukes and a gigantic card draw engine.

I was going to mention Dread Presence and Bolas's Citadel. I'd include Well of Lost Dreams, Sangromancer, Underworld Dreams, and Strionic Resonator as solid synergy cards.

I really like the artifacts that give you life for playing black spells i never would of thought of those. I personally went for cheating big guys out and giving them lifelink but, definetly gonna grab some cards from your list.
I've been playing mono black for a long time now and honestly, you don't need stuff like Wayfarer's Bauble. And I think Vito is better with aristocrats. That gives you more options to deal with opponents.
It's not more effective because bauble ramps you and thins your deck. Think, turn 1 play bauble. Turn two sac it and fetch a land. Turn three, play a land for turn and you're up to 4 lands.
Because it gets out an extra land, that’s like saying a mana Rick could just be a land EDIT: you could argue that it isn’t effective ramp, idk, but it’s definitely not the same as a land
I think I would have added in Dread Presence for some more life syphon when a swamp enters the battlefield. Otherwise, I will build this deck when I get the resources.

Interesting note about how extort is OK to have in mono black because the orzhov hybrid mana is only part of the reminder text. I wonder though because since the mana cost of every single card in magic that has the extort ability is orzhov and never any other cost, then I might make the argument that the extort ability automatically makes the card not mono colored. Interesting.
There is at least half a dozen cards with extort that are monocolor. Also, reminder text IS NOT part of the card's rules text and as such can't be looked at by any rule outside silver border.

Village Rites is a common from m21 that is a 1 mana Altar’s Reap. Other than that swap this deck seems great! Blood Tribute is dirty in this deck
I'm still mid video, but vampiric rites would work well, too.
I would definitely say, pay the extra buck to add a Sol Ring instead of Sisays Ring

Whip of erabos is a nice add so you don't need the 5 every turn for life link as far as a cheap upgrade. Otherwise not a bad idea for most of this.

One of the best upgrades is actually in the manabase in the form of Cabal Stronghold.
I'm stoked because I actually own half if not more than half of these cards.

Silversmote Ghoul would offer a reoccurring draw fodder option if you can gain 3 life during your turn.
What about Sanctum of Stone Fangs? For 2 mana it does what ill-gotten inheritance does but without the active ability
