These are awesome. After waiting 8 months for an ECM and told it may be a lot longer o traded my other canyon in and got this bad boy today. I love it so far

How did your trade in work out? I have been waiting for 4 months for my ECM and because of the strike that have no idea when it might come in. So I have an arbitration in 2 weeks with GM. But in the meantime I found a used 2023 Canyon that I worked a grreat deal on that I am close to springing for. But I am not sure what they will do about the ECM.
I love this truck.I like this so much better than the GMC Sierra Pro edition that I purchased.
Now my dream truck I wanting to buy one.
The volcanic red is the way to go! Got mine in the elevation trim and man!!!! It looks amazing in the sun
Great critique and a very nice truck. For the same money we purchased a Honda Ridgeline that has more convenience items like Power rear slider, memory seats, heated steering wheel etc. Some folks wouldn't care about this but I want as much truck as I can get for the money.
The Ridgeline is a great truck! I actually have an 07 Ridgeline I drive everyday. 223k miles on her right now. It's been great to me, very comfortable, and can even tow our 5,000 lb boat. Not the best at towing, but it gets the job done. I wish you many problem free miles!
Ridgeline is very nice riding but don't plan on doing any real off reading like you can with the canyon.

Yes - definitely crazy considering you could get a loaded up 2016 F150 XLT 4x4 for the same price back in 2016

So it’s not totally off the wall when you take that Into account.
My 2023 Canyon with most options except 4wd cost me 42k including taxes and destination charges, best truck I ever had. It tows as much as the Sierra 5.3 Elevation that I traded for the Canyon and is much more maneuverable and brakes and drives better than the Sierra and is very quiet and responsive compared to the Tacoma that I test drove before I bought the Canyon. I feel like this truck is worth every penny that I paid for this truck, and the engines torque is amazing at 430 ft lbs.

I really like the redesign on the canyon and colorado. What I want to see is a rear facing carseat in the back with a 6ft driver in the front. I want to see how much leg room is still in the driver and passenger seats.
You're actually the second person to ask about this.. Unfortunately I don't have a car seat and am not 6' tall haha
If you want that much room buy a full size truck. Geesh it's a midsized truck.

The GMC Canyon Elevation is basically a Chevy Colorado LT plus the Convenience Pkg I which adds quite a few perks. Thats why this truck does not seem like a base model

Great review. In the market for a midsize truck at the end of 2024. The Canyon/Colorado went from irrelevant to heck ya in terms of my radar. Wondering about its reliability. Very thorough, but give us the payload for this loaded elevation.
So what is coretec? Is it more of a vinyl type of material? I have vinyl like material on the sides of my seat on my Subaru Crosstrek sport and is coming apart, kinda worried if I get this canyon that it'll turn out to be the same
I’d assume it’s a vinyl like material. It feels pretty rugged. Plus it’s a truck so I’d assume that it would be tougher than the vinyl found in your crosstrek
More than happy with my 18 Titan. But if i were looking right now, itd be between this (canyon-colorado) and the frontier. Both look fantastic to my eye.

I have a denali in this color. Love it, never had an issue. Interesting, my "C shape" by the headlights are gloss black. For almost 50G id get my Denali again, just a little more like 2-3k. and you get a better interior and its loaded.

I've been playing with the configurator and for this price ($50k) you can get the AT4 with leather seats and almost the exact same config.
He bought into that dealer upsell crap that want you to pay 10k over msrp price.😂 thank god i bought my tacoma in 2019, only paid 37k for long bed v6 doublecab trd sport. The current car market is out of control. Something is going to break.
Yes, I agree. Prices are out of hand. For example, I had a 2021 Ram TRX as a work truck at my last job MSRP was: $87k. A 2024 TRX same spec is now $116k.. Absolutely not worth $116k imo@@brucey5585
Elevation is about $46,500 without discounts, without the unnecessary options and well equipped!
Yea I did the same thing, that came out $700 more. But with the two tone leather interior plus the HO 2.7. Oh let’s not forget the two speed Autotrack transfer. Instead of one speed.
I really like the new mode, but that four cylinder turbo? I have a 2021 elevation with a 3.6 V6 and love it.
The 4 banger turbo is actually really good
turbo's will ALWAYS stress the engine, and will not last as long.

My 2016 Canyon base truck has Auto, 4x4 high and 4x4 low.
Listed for 32k I bought for $24300 after the 17s hit the lot. Not gonna do that again.
You mentioned "interior " windows. Are there "exterior" windows on this truck?

Every color code cost extra except white. I was in GM paint production for 30 years and retired in 08 but GM never charged extra unless it was a Mary Kay pink or a pearl paint code.

I have the 2023 Canyon AT4, The truck looks awesome, however has a number of flaws. Roof line very thin,weak. Mine dented/creased from car wash blow dryer. No issues with other vehicles at the car was. A number of other quality issues. Regret my purchase.
Been waiting 8 months for my local dealer to get an AT4 allocation.....they got a Denali and Elevation but no AT4.... meanwhile larger dealers will get tens of allocations. GM reps play favorites with dealers

UAW strike delayed deliveries. They wanted to get paid for 40 hours but only work 32 hours plus some other BS. Supposedly something has been worked out. Stand by.
You may as well just get the AT4. At least that is what I am looking at.
How reliability with this motor 200k mikes ?
There’s been a couple of engine tear downs and so far they don’t have any major faults
Most people approx. 98% will never come close to 200k. So why worry?

Don’t take these trucks to a touchless car wash,,, the blower Dryer,,,will dent the roof,,,it happened to me today,,thank God the owner of the car wash is paying for the damage! He had cameras , I called the number at car wash and was surprised the owner answered on the second ring,,he rolled the camera back and saw the blower dent my roof,,, I love my Colorado Trail Boss, but the metal is very weak,, I hate to admit that, I’m lucky the hood didn’t dent too, cause it’s made out of aluminum , I used a magnet,,everything else is steal, I hope I saved someone from going through this,, my Trail Boss is the same color as this GMC

Supposedly they come with the full screen for 2024 models. On the Chevys too.

If your driving down the road and want to turn on your fog lights you will die trying, holy moly. Isn’t it simpler to just flip, or push a switch that you know wear it’s at them reaching to the center of the dam truck and taking your eyes of the road. For that kind of money you should just have to speak, turn on dam fog lights on lol.

Does anyone else get frustrated, knowing that the passenger seat is that close, I could never understand why small trucks have to be so close, I mean just a tad more room, some more space. Let’s not even get into the back seats, which are really for children or dogs. I would rather lose cargo space if it had more room. Feels like a death trap to me.
My 2019 gmc canyon Denali crewcab V6 fully loaded cooled seats bose nice 20” wheels was 47k total every option you could imagine this is crazy pricing

Or at the Ext real other end of credit, with a poor credit rating over a max of 84 months, with no pre payment penalty, will end up costing you? Each month the payment will be $990.6! Equal to $11,881/year, or $59,405!!! For a 4x4 truck with out low range? That’s nuts

Paint color not good. I like the yellow/green color!
Bottom line- the bed is too little. Nissan Frontier still the class leader with a real bed and n/a V6.
Chevy looks nice but I would never buy one over a Toyota. The Toyota is better engineered, last longer, not only the main mechanical ,but all the accessory parts as well. Great vehicle out of the showroom, after that good luck.

Fuel milage is not that great. Could get the same and better reliability with a 6 cylinder. I'm not buying a turbo 4 cylinder.
No mid size truck selling at 50k is ever a good value. They should top out at maybe 40 in a logical world

We traded out 2019 Tacoma trd on a 2023 Canyon AT4 . Couldn’t be happier. Canyon is a better truck in every way. The Tacoma was on its second high pressure fuel pump at 32k. Toyota customer service and warranty is horrible. Toyota made no low end torque , transmission programming is horrible. Driveline vibration. Engine was being damaged be the fuel pumps going out. Toyota just gave us the run around and didn’t want to fix anything.
I got a tundra 2016 and I’m looking to go with the Canyon tires of gas prices and how much tundra wastes
@@coachfrankperez7176 Our Canyon gets great mileage compared to our Toyota 3.5l as long as you keep your foot out of the throttle, lol. Which isn’t a problem with the crazy low end torque the 2.7l turbo makes.

Something no channel describes: 4x4? Is it part time, is it AWD? What is the default torque split? How much torque can be shifted front to rear and under what parameters? Apparently, no one know this.
$3300 for AWD or 4WD, whatever it is, is about $1300 more than most. Just bend over.

I will keep my 2023 Canyon. Thank you very much, but I choose to support our American auto industry and all the jobs and tax dollars that go into OUR way of life NOT Japan's. Japan puts HUGE tarrifs on our vehicles imported into Japan and they are prejudice against American auto products and tell there citizens through propaganda and "Japanese pride to not by anything but Japanese autos.
