    Great video! Thanks so much for sharing it. I'm hoping to get one next year as my gas grill needs to be replaced. Camp Chef seems to have all of the features I am looking for.

    So glad I found this, I got a DLX24 version for an early Christmas present and couldn't figure out for the life of me how/why it was taking forever todo anything. I have a vertical CampChief propane/wood fired smoker thats been through hell and back (but still works great) but wanted a bit better temp control. Long story short I was trying to connect it to wifi and I dont believe its a wifi unit (thank God) but with a little patience it was smoking like crazy in about 5 try's, I finally just left it do it's thing and in about 5 minutes it was going. Plus it's about 25F and about 15mph winds. Had one "flame out" reading but again its windy.

      The cold and wind can definitely make things more difficult!

    Did your smoker get super hot during the initial burn? I set mine to the 350 and it got up to 450 in less than the 30 minutes. Just wanted to see if that was normal

    • @countrysparkles
      @countrysparkles  2 года назад +1

      Yeah often it will get hotter then what you set it at at first and then it will even out. We typically don't put food on the smoker until the temp has stabilized to where we want it to be.

    Great video. I just got an almost identical model and learned so much by watching your experience. I’m curious what smoke level you have found to be the best with this smoker?

    • @countrysparkles
      @countrysparkles  2 года назад

      Depends on how long I am cooking, things like burgers that are only on there for 1 hr or less 10 is great, for longer things like a whole turkey 6-7 is what I do because it is in there a long time.

      We did salmon and the smaller pieces was perfect the thicker just no smoke flavor but that was our first time. We did beef ribs and we tried a small piece last night and it turned out really good to only be our second time smoking.
      The dial sometime gets confusing on setting the temp and setting the smoke level so once we figure that out we will be good

    • @countrysparkles
      @countrysparkles  2 года назад

      Yeah it is a bit of trial and error but the more you use it the easier it will be to just set, leave it, and then check it every once in a while. It is so much easier and more consistent then the grill ever was. That salmon sounds amazing 😍

    Nice video. I wish you would have eaten some on camera and talked about taste, texture, tenderness, moisture...all that stuff.

    • @countrysparkles
      @countrysparkles  2 года назад +1

      That is a great idea for another video. But incase you want to know now it it all so amazing meat is juicy, and tender and cooked perfectly, and the taste is awesome especially mixed with any seasoning. We have only burnt one thing because we weren't keeping an eye on the temp well enough. We haven't used our regular grill since getting this! We really love it!!!

    i want a smoker, but i do not want a gas one. i do not even know if they make those.;
    are these electric?

    • @countrysparkles
      @countrysparkles  Год назад

      Yes this is electric. I know there are manual ones too where you stole the fire yourself but I don't think there are gas smokers. I could be wrong though.

    Do I need to feed it every time I cook?

    • @countrysparkles
      @countrysparkles  3 года назад

      If you fill the pellet Hopper full it will probably smoke for 8 ish hrs so I just depends on how long you are smoking for. For us things like hamburgers we smoke for 1 hr so we don't have to fill it up every time. But it is really easy to check and see if the pellets are low.

    I HATE this smoker....I CANNOT figure out what the hell is happening and most of the time it says FLAME OUT,,,,when sparkling clean...I Am Stumped...and it takes 40 minutes to reach high...after flaming out and simply shutting off 6 times....DO I HAVE A LEMON? OR DO ALL CAMPCHEFS SUCK???

    • @countrysparkles
      @countrysparkles  3 года назад

      Sorry to hear about your experience, we've had a great experience with ours. Maybe yours is a lemon or maybe something like the ignitor needs adjustment. Maybe reach out to camp chef support, we've had good luck with our other camp chef gear too.

      No mam. Camp Chef is one of the best out there. I've been grilling and smoking for about 40 years now and every now and then you might run into a faulty grill or smoker but not likely. Bought my first Camp Chef about 3 years ago (Smoke Pro DLX) and I've never had a problem whatsoever with it. Gave it to my son and ordered another one (Smoke Pro SG24) that arrived about 3 days ago. Very satisfied with Camp Chef products.
