@@valeriebennett6473 he had plenty of talent. However, if He drive for a team that actually drive him the way a team should've, he would've done so much more in his early career, not to mention him being concussion prone and going untreated for 15 years of concussions will mess with you over time.
All these names really are amazing to see all in one race. A Busch race with Tony Stewart, Dale Jr, Matt Kenseth, and Jimmie Johnson. I saw Mike Dillon and thought "hey, last name Dillon, and he looks a lot like Ty and Austin, and sure enough, I learned he's their father. Had no idea he was a racer too lol
@@FloridaManRacer I live nearby and I've been there multiple times in the past few years. The drag strip is in excellent condition, no question, but the oval track is obviously not the primary concern of the owner. Is it terrible? No. But it's not up to top level racing standards, either. Probably because there's no real reason for it to be. No big racing series run the oval, after all. It's outdated and it's showing its age. The oval facility needs refurbished. At the present moment, it's suitable for local and regional racing series, but not much else. They're lucky ARCA still runs there. Agree man!! Why would Jeff Gordon and Ricky Hendrick hired outta all of the drivers Jimmie Johnson?? No way this guy is going to dominate the competition
Back then it was actually called the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series. But it doesn't really matter. Same series, different time period. Soon it will be the NASCAR Coca Cola Series or the NASCAR Green Tree Coleman Lantern Series or whatever lame name they decide to give it.
First crash/yellow Kevin Harvicks current spotter lol never was much of a driver but makes a good spotter I guess...also jj's first nascar race and smokes first yr n stock cars
They should have never left IRP.
leaving IRP directly led to the slot car package in Cup today
@@AlonsoRulesThe what?
I love how neither the video nor any of these comments mentioned that this was Jimmie Johnson's first ever NASCAR race
3:14 - They mention it is Johnson’s first Busch series debut
This Johnson kid might just have a decent career
Thank you Nascar for the upload! Great race, love watching these classic races!
Big shoutout to NASCAR Moderators on this RUclips channel for keeping the comments clean!
Only problem is that bots could come in at the worst time.
Thanks NASCAR for the upload.
I remember every race from this season. Matt Kenseth Vs. Dale Jr. was fantastic.
That Dale Jr. kid has a lot of potential. He might become a Cup champion if he keeps this up.
Heh heh heh
Lol barley had talent to win races at cup level but love the guy and what he does for the sport and what hes done 4 iracing as well
@@valeriebennett6473
I am no fan of his but one does not win 26 races with barely enough talent to win a Cup race.
He was a 2 time Busch Series Champion 1998 and 99, and 2 time Daytona 500 winner.

Take a shot every time they mention Dale Jr. being patient. You will blackout.
I miss these days
No idea why they took this off the Xfinity schedule and went to IMS. The racing is so much better to watch here.
It's outdated and it's showing its age and it is clear that Lucas Oil doesn't give a crap about the oval.
Dale jr won this race
3:14 Jimmie Johnson's debut
Bring IRP or ORP back
That'd take a lot of money. The track and facilities are pretty outdated and run down. There's a reason the biggest series that runs there is ARCA.

Milwaukee mile!! Post one from there lol
Funny to think that at this point in time everyone thought Kevin Lepage had a brighter future than Jimmie Johnson
I'm Chatting!!
Who are the commentators and pit analysts on this race?
#59 is gonna be a bust

I think NASCAR should upload the 2001 Daytona 499.75. Just sayin’
Ol’ 7 time making his xfinity start
There was a guy on here named @bill smith, he spewed racist nonsense and deleted his comment. This serves to remember him and his idiocy.
Hmm. Who's the bloke driving the #59? Never heard of him.
Hi
ITS GRAND NATIONAL

He was good enough that he picked up four wins in the series. Definitely a better spotter than a driver, but it wasn't like he failed as a driver.
This was not an "Xfinity Series" race, it was a "Busch Grand National Series" race...
Same series just different name...
You know they won't be giving Busch that free advertising when they don't pay the bills for NASCAR anymore lol
@@Twinspinner They didn't hide the logo on the video though...
Before NASCAR was ruined by the chase and playoff bullshit.
