Thank you Ema. I had a friend trying to explain the process to me this morning and by the 20th, "just click here" I was lost. I found you and took copious notes and will wade through them later. My first Zoom class is April 14 (my students are forcing me kicking and screaming) so thank you for your wonderful tutorial. AND congratulations on your new baby
Thanks a lot, very generous of you, I've taught a couple of classes with zoom but you helped me with some things I hadn't sorted yet. It's fairly easy for our clients to use as well.
Thank you so much! I have only taught live classes for 22 years and this is the last thing I want to do but due to COVID I need to stay connected to my students. This video reminded me to let go of knowing and just get started, Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been searching on Google for the last 7 hours on how to link a payment to Zoom classes. Finally I have the answer I was looking for. This tutorial + your personal experience and information is super helpful. As Covid cases are rising in Belgium, people are requesting me to teach online, which is what I’m going to be able to do.. thanks to you 🤗❤️
Hi Debby, yes it is tricky to connect the payment to zoom, which is why I set up the system with PayPal which isn't very automatic as you see, but for an individual teacher it is an ok option. One of the studios I work with moved their booking system over to something called TeamUp which has zoom integration. Another studio has us teaching on MindBody Livestream instead of zoom, because it automatically sends out streaming links.. none of the solutions are ideal (of course we'd rather be in the studio!) But we do our best... Good luck with your classes online! Xx
Ema, thank you for this video. I am a long time yogi, but longer term Luddite. This teaching transition has been challenging. I very much appreciate your thoughtful message.
cool Carla! I hope that works for you - I was thinking it not only helps me be well lit but it also boosts my mood to have it on all the time during this period of staying indoors all the time!! I know it's a learning curve isn't it - good luck to you!
Hi Emma Brilliant tutorial. I recommend! So much so, that I have no set up my online classes as a result and already have people signed up. Thank you again Emma.
Thanks Ema! Brilliant tutorial. I am in the process of creating an online Yoga business and this video has proved to be very informative. Thanks for sharing.
thank you Ema - preparing for my first virtual with Zoom and senior students - after viewing your video I'm so very encouraged! Peace for a blessed new year!
Thank you!! I will watch again with my husband, as he will be helping me set up. I'm getting ready to do Zoom yoga classes next week for my Itsy Bitsy Yoga program. You've given some very helpful tips here! Thx again!
This is a very helpful, clear and concise explanation of how to teach Yoga on Zoom. Ema, I bet you are an amazing teacher! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Namaste!
Thank you so much for sharing this..so very kind of you ! It was very explicit and laid out simply for some of us un-techy people ..LOL ..AKA old like me ! Stay safe and be well. Jai and Namaste !
Thank you so much Ema for this it's so amazing. I offered our COVID-19 community yoga classes to see them through this hard time, and then realised I had no idea how to do it. We will think of you during our first class on Tuesday 24th and send you the best of positive vibes. xx
Thank you so much Ema!! just entering this online world as the studio i teach at closed, wisely, due to the pandemic. Yours is the most practical and useful guide I've found!! All the best with the baby.
What a kindness this video tutorial is. Thank you for giving your time to help us navigate Zoom easily so we can reach those who are looking for our help and personal connection in this unreal time. So many, many thanks. You made something intimidating feel very possible. A whole lot of people will be having a whole lot of fun and feel "normal" because you have shared this.
Thanks so much Ema! I loved your freshness and easy instructions and tips! Gives me the courage to try (I am 71 years old so I need help !!!! Best wishes!
Ema thank you so much for your really clear and informative video. You broke it down into very helpful chunks, that I found easy to follow. cant wait to have a go now!!🙏🏻
Very helpful thank you! I saw the setup demonstration - are you using the wide angle web cam for the computer? How do you mute people and do other things without walking up to the devise you're filming on?
Hi Ema! I love your Zoom Meeting Tutorial. I'm planning on starting teaching my dance classes using Zoom Platform, and it will be very helpful to me. Great tips! Thanks. 😉 Sam.
Thank you so much for this Ema... such clear easy to understand instructions....very generous of you to give your time for fellow yoga teachers.....Namaste sista! 💜💜💜
Hi Ema, GREAT JOB !!! Thank you for taking the time to share with us your knowledge, it’s extremely helpful ! It’s definitely one of the best tutor that I seen in a long time ! I have a question concerning the equipment that you use. You are using a RODE mic for your laptop but you are wearing a wireless mic in the video. I have a lot of problem echo feedback using my wireless mic (Saramonic Blink500) when on Zoom. Do have the same problem and it’ why you don’t talk about your wireless mic ?
Hi Pierre, Thank you for your kind words, I am glad the video is helpful! To clarify - I have the rode mic plugged into the computer for zoom (and since I made the video I have started using an extension cable so I can put the mic closer) The lapel mic I was wearing I had plugged into a second phone to record extra audio - sometimes I do this when I want to save the video and put it on RUclips, to make the sound extra clear. I sync the video and sound in premiere. I mostly don't use the lapel mic for vinyasa videos now because it can be very rustly! I still use it for meditation which is still. I have found the rode mic, placed closer, is excellent and very clear.. Hope that helps!
Fantastic, so natural, great tips, thank you Ema. Maybe silly question but on Zoom, when setting up, in 'In Meeting (Advanced), there's a 'Allow Live Streaming Meetings' section with either off/on toggle. Should it be toggled on to allow live streaming? When I toggle it on, there are 3 ticks against Facebook, Workplace by FB or RUclips. Custom live streaming service is off. I don't want to stream to Facebook or anywhere else - just do a Zoom class to participants so... should this Allow Live Streaming Meetings be off? (as Zoom will take care of itself) Not done my first yoga/fitness Zoom class but it's happening in a few days time !! Thanks for any help and again, thanks for your great informative video on how to
Great Job!! I have spent hours this week trying to figure out how to get videos to my students. My classes are an hour and I have been so frustrated with utube and trying to up load an hour class-sometimes takes an hour sometimes 24 driving me nuts!! Going to spend the $ to use zoom. You were so helpful!!
Hi Jo - thank you, I'm glad the video was helpful! I use youtube as well as you can see, but I have made the decision that full classes (60 mins or more) I charge for - so I use my own servers for that.. Zoom also has the added benefit of connecting live with people - which is so important nowadays during self-isolation, it's a real comfort for all of us to be able to see each other! Uploading to youtube shouldn't take 24 hours - perhaps something isn't quite right with your video settings? I think youtube has guidelines of what video codecs and settings are most suitable for the platform..
Thank you Emma! so generous of you to share. I was wondering if there is any way of having participants screen rotating during the session. So that I have an opportunity to see how each of them is doing. I know that it would be possible if I unmute them but I would need to stop doing the class and go towards computer and unmute the participant I want to check on. I was wondering if there 's any setting I could use to do it before we start the class. Ideally they would show each participant for a few seconds on my screen, so that I could observe each of them during the session. Currently I use "Speaker" display but my computer screen is too small and I can not see participants as they appear in very small windows...
This was great! Thank you. Although, I can't get my music to be heard. I can hear it, but when I record and play it back (testing it), the sound is either still distorted, or can not hear it at all. I looked at a few you-tube tutorials and adjusted all the settings as instructed. I'm using BlueTooth JBL speaker and trying to access my music from my playlist from iTunes on my computer. I think one tutorial stated that one has to use an external music source? I tried using Pandora from the phone but this isn't working either. Can you tell us how you did the music??
Hi Diana, sorry I only just saw this comment of yours! At the time when I made this video I hadn't yet found a solution to this - since then I tried a few options: there are a few things you can try - in the advanced audio settings you can disable the 'supress background noise' - this will make the zoom app distort the music less. Otherwise you can share your music via 'share computer audio' although be careful that it's not too loud. However the easiest probably - and this is what I was doing (I have now stopped teaching as I had a baby a week ago!) Share the playlist link (Spotify/apple music/pandora) with your students and they can play the music from their end. At the start of each class we started the playlist together to make sure it was in sync. Hope that helps!
Could you please do a video that shows how to set up a lap top for Zoom classes while using your camera. I think I saw a setup like this one in your recording. Thank you!
Thank you so much Ema really great video! This is a challenging time for us all and to have lovely informative information for us less than tech savvy people is brilliant.
Great video and tips. I would love to see how you do the EDITING of the video. Picture in picture. Text. What software? Do you do it yourself or delegate out.
Hi Ejaz, sorry I never saw your question until just now - I edit my videos using Adobe Premiere - this is a professional video editing programme that I have been using for some time - but I'm sure there are simpler versions of it available as well.
Hi Ema. Thank you for this video. One question: do you put your camera on gallery view so you can see your participants and give modifications/suggestions?
Ema, it's really very sweet that you've taken the time to do this. Clear, concise and helpful. Bless you!
Thank you Ema, the most straightforward tutorial I've watched all week. Especially the set up - thank you again.
Thank you Ema. I had a friend trying to explain the process to me this morning and by the 20th, "just click here" I was lost. I found you and took copious notes and will wade through them later. That is a great video. My question, how do you get the closed captioning? I think that could be helpful.
Dont think that is publically available on Zoom. You could try doing Dictation software and screen sharing WORD document from a separate device
Hi Donna yes RUclips does it automatically but Zoom doesn't have it as far as I know.
People can’t get into my room. Could it be my settings??
Thank you so much Ema really great video! This is a challenging time for us all and to have lovely informative information for us less than tech savvy people is brilliant.

Thank you so much, you clarified a lot of problems I was having. Very new concept for me.

Give it a go! The first time it's like eek but you'll feel comfortable with it after giving it a try. Any other questions do hit me up!
Thanks Ema so much!! This has really helped me to begin teaching online. Namaste & blessings 🙏🏻💜
Hi Ema. Thank you for this video. One question: do you put your camera on gallery view so you can see your participants and give modifications/suggestions?
