I tried to recoil one all day this past Saturday. I finally gave up after wearing out my fingers and bought a new one. I don’t think I’d ever seen how they come new, but this one had a wire around it and it allowed me to drop it in and get it all set before cutting the wire. It entered my mind to try a drill, but I couldn’t picture how to attach it to something with a nail until I saw this. Great video!
Yeah I was winding it by hand I got it wound up twice, only to have it pop out at the end. It was the same spring housing that you showed. Very tricky to do. I will try your method. Thanks
Great tip. I don't know how many times I had a spring pop out all over the place and almost slap me in the face. Next time I will try your way. Thanks for sharing.👍👍
I had to do one one my Mill last year. It popped out so many times before we got it done. I saw you commented on my french video. So came to see your channel. Nice to meet you new friend.
Great tip, that drill works great for many things I've even seen apples beings peeled by drill. I appreciate you visiting, keep growing see you around.
Look at your kids on ATVs!! Love it! I just love seeing fellow, like minded parents where we let our kids go on ATVs and have fun playing outside! And teaching them how to fix things too. Beautiful! I love the instructions on how to do things on a farm. My husband is wanting to try and show things he's fixing too. I think you know this but I can't get notifications from your channel because of the kid thing. I apologize I haven't been on top of going to your channel to see if you uploaded something. I'll try and peek in to see if there's new videos. Hope you all are having a great week!
Spent 3 hours trying and ending with a broken tip. thanks to skateboarding I was pretty calm but wowzers is that a pain. Buying guy a new chainsaw because I was instructed to tie a knot to hold the handle and it slipped lmao
@@FarmDad I broke mine, twice. I spent the better part of the afternoon trying to rebend the little loop in the center using a torch and a vice with pliers, but I gave up. I'm going to have to buy a new spring.
Shine a spotlight on your work, your shadow was in the way and your camera was out of line as you inserted the spring. Otherwise it was a great video for learning!
Farm Dad I agree.... I had my 93 fox GT for 12 years. Trouble free...Sold it, needed a 4-door car. Went to Indiana to buy my 01 New Edge GT years ago too out of a collector’s warehouse. Was sitting for 5 years. It just turned 90K.. Extremely reliable and outstanding condition. Have a good rest of day.

your vdo is awesome and fantastic.
thanks for sharing. 👍🏼45 Have a happy day.
This works great used it on my ATV but i used zip straps and worked great
Glad it worked for you. Zip ties are the best invention of the 20th century!
very nice info and tips...thanks for sharing :-) keep it up and have a fantastic wed!!
This is very difficult without the drill tool.
The problem with a lot of these DYI videos is the camera angles are not clear. I could really use a well lit close up of what you are doing.
Good video mate.. I have a video like this somewhere to upload.. kind of like the way you do your videos.. will be back to watch some more..
Keep up the great work! Have a great weekend ⭐

Whatup new friend, hate when those type spring come out and have to be recoiled.
Great content here ! 👏🏻👏🏻
You know your stuff! My car will not start without putting it in Neurtral I never heard of this happening to a car its a mazda~!
Sounds like your neutral safety switch is bad. I believe Mazda calls it a park interlock switch.
Great tip Farm Dad 👍👍
Great info man great channel subbed ya
Cool deal, good info!!
Amazing way
Now that's smart...last time I did this I did it by hand...it was finger-numbing!
I hate these springs so much 🥴😬😁
Oh, me too. I gave up trying this time and am ordering a replacement unit!!@@FarmDad
@@harbourdogNL sorry it didn't work out for you.

great 👍 keep it up
Might want to add a little public service announcement that some of those Springs are brittle and as soon as you Bend them they just snap
Seems like I'm hearing this more and more.
Thank you thank you! I was killing myself, trying to wine that sucker up with my hands!
Totally been there!
Welp. I tried four times… I’ll be dropping it off at our small engine repair shop tomorrow 😂😅
@@kellipetersen5478 oh noooo 🙃. At least you gave it your best shot.
Where can i buy it
Is that a Lambo or Ferrari behind you
Foxbody mustang
Thanks
You're welcome!
How did you not snap the spring?
It's stronger than it looks 👍
@@FarmDad I broke mine, twice. I spent the better part of the afternoon trying to rebend the little loop in the center using a torch and a vice with pliers, but I gave up. I'm going to have to buy a new spring.
@@colliswilliams8992 sorry to hear that. I've done this, maybe 3 times and haven't broken one. Maybe I've been lucky though!
I had to show my husband this.

I can’t stand those recoil springs. Nice foxbody Mustang in the background. I’ve spent many years driving a foxbody. I know have a 2001 Yellow GT.
I've had that fox for 18 years. Most reliable car I've ever had.
