I've been going through some rough times recently and hearing your speech about failure really helped man, keep doing what you're doing.
Maxx, I really enjoyed this video. You really got to me on a personal level, especially when you talked about the times you felt like you failed. All you hear the majority of the time is how people succeed (which of course isn't a bad thing), but rarely do you ever see or hear talk about their failures or mistakes. And THAT is what makes us human.

Thank you Max for making this video. I'm a student who didn't do as well as I wanted in high school. I was a bad test taker as well as didn't study as much as I should have. I got into 2 out of the 6 schools i applied to. Not getting into my favorite 2 schools I decided to go to community college this year. So far community college has been the best thing I had done. Going from a 2.3 gpa in high school go now getting a 3.5 my first semester of college and now finishing my first year with both semesters over a 3.0. This video proved that it doesn't matter where you go to school as long as you make the most of the education you have.

100% know how you feel in your failure story. I had the same issue with high school going into college (I barely even graduated from high school) and I also got fired from my first "big boy" job after college. I was crushed when I got fired and thought there was no way I would get away from retail/customer service oriented jobs. Thanks to my girlfriend (now wife) for motivating me to just get out there and stop feeling sorry for myself, I now have a job is leaps and bounds better than the one I lost, allowed me to get the finances to get married, get an apartment, and still live comfortably. Your advice really spoke to me and I completely feel the same way.
I don't know how inspirational you set out to make this video, but I have been really struggling with feels of failure over the past 6+ months and it has really impacted me in such a negative way. Hearing you talk about your past experiences with your failures and how you were able to overcome them really gave me the first feeling of hope I have had in a while. Sometimes things happen in life and it is easy to feel like there is no way out and life will be like that forever. You reminded me that that does not have to be the case if you don't let it be. I don't think you're the potato you make yourself out to be ;) Thanks for sharing!

You might not see this, but I just wanted to say thank you for the discussion about failure. I went to school abroad for my MA and now that I'm back, I find myself feeling disillusioned and down a lot. I'm having a hard time finding a job in my field (been going back and forth between VA Beach and DC for interviews a lot lately), and sometimes no matter how positive I try to be about my situation I still feel like a loser, even though I know I've followed my dreams and I've accomplished a lot. I know I'm not a loser, but some days it does feel like I'm going to be stuck in this situation forever. I tell myself it has to get worse before it gets better, and that I'll be more appreciative when things do work out in my favor as a result of struggling right now. It really resonated with me when you said this is not how things are always going to be. Maybe I'm just impatient or scared that I'll end up settling. I think a lot of people in our generation are feeling this way right now. I do have faith, and I try to be as proactive as possible. It's just hard when my family and friends are constantly asking what my plans for the future are, if I've found a job yet, etc. But then I remember that I have to live life for me and only me. Channeling the Ever Forward mentality helps a lot. Thanks buddy.
