I really like darker red color and I had it red in the past but it was permanent dye from a salon and I think it damaged my hair. I want to do henna because I know it's good for your hair. Does it make your hair feel healthy? And more importantly, do you know if henna dye can dye your hair a rich, dark red? Or is it just for that auburn/ copper/ ginger tone? I love your videos by the way! Also you should definitely do a haircare video if you haven't already.

Yaaay another fake ginger! I dyed my hair ginger over a year ago now, and love it :D I use a firey copper colour, which when first applied looks a little cray cray, but when it fades a bit is super pretty ginger :)

My natural hair colour is quite similar to yours and I dyed mine ginger at the end of August and it did take me a while to get the colour I wanted and find the right dye etc but I actually used the mango copper burst one from superdrug too in the end which is quite weird! It's such a great colour but it's so bright at first!

I grew up with strawberry blonde hair, it then went red and now it's like dark red-brown. My hair is weird. 😂
Newtie Noot mine never went red but it did go a medium brown color and in the sun it has a tint of copper
I have a question. How do you dye your roots now, since you hennaed your hair? Or do you continue to use henna? If you do use standard dyes, how did you keep your hair from reacting with the henna?
Hi Rocky! Sorry this may be kind of long. I am going to purchase the henna to help me achieve the ginger copper hair look but i was wondering if there were steps I could skip? Like if I just asked my hairdresser to but in the goldybrownorangeyblondey colour you got when you let the dye from the artificial orange colour fade instead of actually dying with that colour and waiting for it to fade. Or if i should just ask them to dye it the same colour as what you got after you used the superdrug dye? I don't really want my hair to go through that whole process of messyness haha

Is the henna permanent? I have dark blonde hair with a bit of red and I really like your color but I dot really want to have to keep dying it/ try to dye it back to my natural color. Does it fade out or do you get noticeable roots? Also, thanks for making this video!

I really wanna dye my hair ginger as well. The thing is that I have bleached highlights in my hair. My natural color is kinda like yours. Do you know if I can just completely dye it as usual or will I get any trouble with the lighter highlights?

Henna is great :) I have dark brown hair, and I kept the henna in for about 2 hours. I also mixed yogurt and a bit of jojoba oil with the mix for conditioning. It's great for your hair, and it gives me a bit of a reddish tinge in direct sunlight (going ginger would look crazy on me as I have olive toned skin).

I think the fact that you "shine" in the light may depend on the henna.. I used pure henna for a couple of years and I remember it used to make me look like a highlighter when I was in the sun :) ... still I love your hair color! It looks great on you and it makes me want to be ginger again :)

I had ginger/red hair before and I regret it so much I bleached my hair and as you said the red tint is still in my hair and won't budge!! I now dye my had dark and when it fades it goes a ginger colour so annoying haha, that colour suits you so much x

I'm doing this color in a few more years! Any advice on how to make it look natural (I am not dying it at home I'm going to a professional salon) My hair is naturally light brown, but right now it's Blue Black/Darkest Black.
I use a light brown dye on my blue-black. This gives me a red brown color. I then use gem lite shampoo in add the right amount of red.
So lucky in naturally ginger, couldn't be bothered with all the fuss haha. You suit it so much xxx

I used chemical hair dye after the lush henna and my hair turned out just fine. Lush henna doesn't have metallic salts in it so it will be alright if you do

rocky Applebee I love your accent I love people with your accent are you from London and your hair is beautiful your hair looks very healthy from the henna use. the color becomes you,me myself I would like a dark auburn color, I always like dark auburn close to dark burgundy..the video is great using the word hair a lot of times in your video was no big or bad deal .you had to use it in order to make your video, because that's what it was all about coloring your hair . I use the word glory definition for hair.the coloring n your hair is beautiful. when the hair is shining and healthy looking that means the hair is well condition from the dye or Henna & it,s a good henna or hair dye. thank you and be blessed.

My natural hair colour it's a little like your natural colur, but mine it's like blonde/gold/brown, and have natural highlights too, I've never dyied it, but I wan't to Henna dyed it, and have an auburn/soft ginger hair, not too super bright red.... but I'm not sure if I'll like it, or I'll dye it again... will my roots show off like it happens with chemical dyes? Or will my hair grow and doesn't really show???

I'm planning on dying my hair your colour but at first I want to kind of try it out for a week or so and I was hoping to use the superdrug wash in wash out dyes, my hair is the same colour as your natural colour, lighter at the ends. Do you think this would permanently stain my hair or would it be okay to use a temporary colour?

It will probably be fine on your hair but I don't imagine you'd get a lot of colour from the semi permanent dyes - not enough to be ginger. It's worth a try but I'm not sure how rich the colour will be. Let me know about your results! :) thank you! X

I have been blonde since I was 15 dying my hair every couple of months because of the roots, my natural colour is a grey brown (horrible colour) I'm allergic to dark hair dyes because I'm allergic to henna, I have dyed my hair ginger before and left me in a rash for weeks:( after watching this video I wanted to try these wash in wash out dyes, so I went to superdrug and got the copper gold colour but after using it my hair wasn't very ginger because of the evil blonde coming through, I was rather disappointed as I thought this was gonna change my hair problems but I didn't give up I got the rich red colour and my hair came out ginger! It's kinda two tones but of my roots and the blonde on the ends but I love it!
For anyone that is allergic to henna this is the way forward! Im now 19 and have had this hair colour for 2 years! I'm a very happy ginger :) thanks!

Do you still use the superdrug wash in wash outs? I've just had my hair dyed back to natural colour strawberry blonde and rather than dying my hair again was wondering if I could get a slight ginger tone using these? If so which would you recommend? Deep red or the copper one? Looking for natural ginger not fake looking orange X
Hiya, i haven't used them in years but you could give them a ago. The darker one is slightly stronger so maybe try the lighter one first if you're not sure. Now I only touch up my roots with herbatint copper blonde (you can see my hair colour now in newer videos). Hope that helps! X
Have you tried mixing henna/cassia 50/50?
i just lighten my hair (no color) for like 3-5mins and its a cooper. is that considered a 'red' and is it considered natural?

Hi - I am a natural red head, and I am trying to grow my hair long. I read that henna helped with strength, so i used Henna King in Copper, because I figured it would match my hair and simply strengthen it. Now I have turbo orangey streaky punk-ish red hair!!! I'm really upset. Do you think the Lush Caca Rouge could cover over it? Any other recommendations to fix this mess?

You could use a red semi permanent hair dye to darken it - It will fade out and hopefully leave a red undertone (this is what I used to do when I first dyed it). Make sure to do a strand test though because mixing chemical dyes and henna can go horribly wrong
Plz what the mark of the coloration that you used to get this beauty color ?
I have copper short hair, original colour dark blonde/light brown. I actually scripted my hair so I could go blonde, but it was a pig to get the orange out and to make the blonde OK. So I went copper again but I put a warm light brown through it as well, but now I just do copper. Do you ever do just roots or do you always do all over, I know you colour in-between dyes but I'm talking about full dyes. I don't want to go dark because it just doesn't suit me, unlike my daughter who suits all colours.
Oh and yes I'm like a beacon in the sun, it's not for the faint hearted, but I do love copper, although my husband preference is for a deeper red.

Hi Rocky, just found your video after a disastrous trip to hairdressers. Your hair is gorgeous. I'm a natural redhead and love it but as I'm now in my early 40s the colour is getting lighter so I started having foils, getting lighter and lighter and grieving for the loss of my red hair. I visited another salon and had my roots dyed ginger and had fudge cocktail conditioner in copper applied and it was the best colour ever. Call me naive but I really didn't think I could dye my own roots with shop bought dye so every month I'm spending a fortune at the hairdressers. Cut a long story short, I went back to my original salon, had foils again and hate it. I now have blonde and copper foils with my own hair colour which looks dull. My roots are light and it's made me miserable. After watching your video I want to dye my own hair, roots too. My question is, can I dye my hair with shop bought dye over my foils which were done a week ago? I'm also worried the blonde foils will turn pink if I use a copper coloured dye. What would you recommend? Any help and advice would be grately appreciated. Ps I've just ordered the NYX eyebrow powder which you recommend in your other video. Can't wait to try it. Hiya :) I can't say for definite about dying over salon dyes because I don't know what they used. Personally, I've dyed over loads of different colours all at home - some were bleach, some weren't, henna etc and I haven't had any problems. I would say put the box dye all over your hair (that's what I would do) but if you want professional advice as I'm not a hair dresser - call the salon and ask what they used and if you can dye over it :) hope that helps! I'm a natural ginger and I'm trying to get my extensions to get to match my natural color and no hair dresser in my area has been able to dye my extensions to match my natural color. I am so upset about it lol I've had to buy 6 sets of extensions so far to replace the bad dye jobs

They wash out the next time you wash your hair but you can always use it again and make it part of your shower routine :)
Do reds really fade that quickly? If so how quick? O also avoid bleach before dying it wild colours
yeah red hair can be the most hardest colour to get rid and the most hardest to maintain

But overall u did a relatively convincing job on the hair! I mean sure, i can usually tell when its fake,(since i'm a redhead, personally i can tell easily)

Hi, I've read that using henna after a chemical dye is very bad for your hair, do you use anything special ? I think maybe you could say that as a warning even if nothing happened to you. :)

Has anyone got any tips from going blonde to copper , can't find any answers anywhere I keep putting copper dyes on my hair and it just washes out completely after a few washes , I have even put on a brown dye and then a copper but it still washes out

You can use chemical dyes after using henna but only if you have used pure henna. If you have used a henna compound (with the lush version is) using a chemical dye before the henna has grown out may give you very unpredictable results.
You can use it 6 weeks after using henna but a strand test is always recommended first :)
