Sorry if someone has already said this. Notice that Bob Holt, who voiced Cop-Tor, one of the primary antagonists in the series. Is not listed amongst the cast of characters in the opening credits. This is because he sadly passed away before production. And was instead voiced by Arthur Burghardt, who voiced Turbo. This would probably explain his limited role in the film.
As a kid, back then where covers for VHS was still paper. I had this on vhs, still do. Watched a million times or so, didnt even know what they were saying since it was in english, and i hadnt developed any knowledge of that language. But i watched and i was like hypnotized. Awesome creatures "the stone guys" COOL fights, if u have seen this movie, you know what i mean. Lines that where awesome like "Put him in the tumbler" . Scenes were someone "shatters" or inpales someone. RETRO FTW !!!
You know, I think by the time they started producing this film. Hanna-Barbera had learnt from the Transformers series, that they should refine the look of the toy figures, for their animation portrayal. And a good job they did. Strangely though, for the Anime series, Machine Robo; Revenge of Cronos. They made the rock Lords, closely resemble the toys they were based on.
i had the VHS as well, i loevd it. but i think when i left home for college, my grandma accidentally put it in the yard sale. hahaha and ive been lookin for it since!! and no mate, thank YOU for sharin ths piece w us!
I loved this movie when I was a kid, I used to hire it from the video shop. Boy it brings back good memories of my Childhood, I must say I am so proud to be an 80's child as it was a special time in my life. When are they gonna release this on dvd.
I've heard the rights to Battle Of The Rock Lords are a bit over the place now, due to being licenced out a lot back in the day. Probably isn't worth the paperwork to get that fixed either
Anyone notice that the whole film was uploaded on to RUclips a couple of weeks ago and has now been deleted - when I was halfway through watching it???? Bloody RUclips, why would they do that???
Funny thing. I always thought that this was the low point of Gobots. Running out of ideas for Gobots so they make a Rock Lords TV series and Movie. I hated this personally but I never told my dad when he took me and my brother to see this.

@mazgrox yeah i hear you. they got all the other cartoon movies on here ranging from heman, thundercats, transformers, etc but they wont let you show the gobots. i cant stand it either. man i would really like to see it one mo time as i havnt watched it since the 80s!
@mazgrox Yeah, maybe the cartoons series on TV , but there are not too many people who saw this film. I have asked. LOL I saw this movie the week it was released I was 12 years old there was only about 4 people in the whole theater. LOL You'll never see the Go-Bots cartoon show or This movie on DVD Hasbro bought the rights back in the early '90s from Tonka. and for some reason after they blended most of the names into their Transformers line these cartoons went away.

I was really shocked when Margot Kidder passed away. I got to meet her a few year prior at a Comic-Con event in Ireland and got her autograph.

Oh god its been years since i saw this. I watching either transformers G1 or gobots movie, was late to its series. But still enjoy it all the same.
This movie deserved better, to be honest. It's still dang original sci-fi even to this day.

As a kid I had no interest in a transforming rock, I remember being disgusted at the thought and couldn't imagine how any kid could play with these.
