Thank you for helping us europeans too!
Indeed. It’s much appreciated.
Just 160 likes, looks like underrated comment.
@Paulchiefsquad : Yes, I wholeheartedly agree with you.
@Monitors Unboxed & @Hardware Unboxed : regionalized advice is a FANTASITC idea, Tim and Steve !!! Please keep doing this, this is EXCELLENT content !!! 🙂🙂🙂
I would love to see this concept taken further, like monitors for productivity usage for instance. And other non-monitor products as well.
Yep with eu local he mentions at 1440p mine, the lg 850 or whatever its called. Its good but nothing amazing. HDR works ok in games on windows 11. Waiting for oled cheap pricing/2nd gen with better features.
Enjoy paying 60% tax europoors
Thanks for having us in Europe in mind.
It's a shame that companies haven't changed their products much in a year. Tvs are a lot more interesting for these premium prices for these tiny 27" panels.
yea i even game on my TV cuz it supports HDR and 4k Res at 60HZ which is fine imo for €700 it's 55 inch screen.
@@Mark9150 Damn for €600 I got a 55 inch 4k mini led tv with 1000+ nits brightness for HDR and 144hz refresh rate
I really appreciate the extra work, for doing this "Europe-Specific" Video.
I think this is a great idea for a video. Would love to see more of these for the buyer's guides!
Instant like even before seeing the video.
Putting in effort for EU deals is rare. Thanks!
absolutely!
Thank you for keeping the European market in mind! This video comes at the right time as I am looking for a good QHD monitor for some friends (in Germany). Now I feel comfortable in recommending the LG 27GP850P to them. When it comes to myself, I'm still very happy with my LG 38GN950-B. Unfortunately this wasn't a spectacular year for 38" ultrawides, I'd love to see some more models with improved backlighting.
Depending on your price range, I'm very happy with the Samsung Odyssey G8. It can be expensive though, in Norway it's been on sale for ~€850 last week, although now it's back up to it's more regular price of ~€1-1.2k. Personally I think it's a great monitor and I have 0 regrets paying such a high price for a monitor, although I'd probably wait a bit and see if there are either new monitors coming out, or salves on current good monitors.
@@tsjeriAu Thank you for your recommendation. Unfortunately the G8 is out of our budget range from ~200-300€. My friends want to use the system casually anyway.
I've owned the 27GP850P-B for just over 2 years now, still great! Pretty sure you'll be happy with the purchase.
I bought the 27GP850P-B 3 weeks ago (in Germany) and im very happy with it.
@@doushannon2799 you should've considered 32GP850 model with monitor arm mount instead - it is quite a difference compared to 27" model. Pixes size is still not too big, so image is not grainy, i would say 2K and 32" is optimal combination. Panel size is perfect for desktop, but stock stand is too huge, so arm mount is needed. Using this for 2 years almost. Anyway LG's GP850 series are the best choice in terms of price/features/quality.
I really wish you guys would separate oled from the rest, and have a premium recommendation for non-oled monitors.
Same. Looking at the ultrawide recommendations just doesn't help, because I use mine for work as well. They're clearly only the best if all you do is gaming, which is unrealistic.
I agree for the QLED and OLED section, we need a section without them for the best color responsiveness and refresh rate, since burn in is rather nasty to deal with and I'd imagine that even if you're mainly gaming you do spend a considerable time on the web or having static elements on the screen for a prolonged period of time.
@@Tyfuzzle whats your price range on an Ultrawide? I am someone who legit buys monitors just to test them at this point and send em back and UW is the main one I do so for. I don't have the fanciest testing equipment like these guys but I could probably list off some decent UWs
I suspect they consider 'premium non-OLED' to be a waste of money, since cheaper LCDs cover most of the fundamental performance that LCD tech has these days (aside from e-sports very high speed panels). I wish it didn't, but local dimming tech just sucks compared to per pixel lighting. Will have to keep waiting for micro LED if you don't want OLED.
@@Tyfuzzle I'm using my AW3423DWF both for work and gaming, will report back if I get burn in within the warranty period
Really do appreciate this, it is nice to have pricing closer to (though not quite at) home.
Hey thanks for making a Europe specific one!
I appreciate the video! I think this is the first quality video for a specific region
Thanks for the video!!!! Really helpful
These region-specific recommendations are very much appreciated, thanks very much!
thanks for keeping us in mind Tim 🙂Got my M32Q a few years back based on your advice. Will do the same for my next one! When the time comes eventually
So nice to see Euro prices, thank you for this 🙌
Thanks for your review! I was able to snag a AW3423DWF for 719 euros, arriving next monday. I was able to get a samsung G8 as well for below 800 euros, but dell offered an additional year of warranty with explicit burn-in coverage. When asking Samsung support about this, they replied that burn-in is only covered if is not the result of "excessive usage", and that only the technician can determine whether it is caused by excessive use or not. It all seemed to vague for me, so I decided on the Alienware.
I'm upgrading from my U2515H, which is almost 10 years old at this point and has had a column of dead pixels for the past year or so. Very excited!!
Did the exact same choice this week
Phew.. This video had me worried because I just bought two MSI 27" G274QPX a few days ago on the black Friday sales and got scared he was going to mention "better" monitors all of a sudden😅luckily it's the same recommendations as the previous video I watched aaaand good to see it still being recommended in this video. Colours & settings are great after tweaking them and the 240hz is great for competitive games. They look great side by side 😍IPS panels show some glow but nothing to the point I wanna cry about it. I'm glad this channel exists and helped me pull the trigger since my other 2 monitors broke. Thaaank youu :)
How nice, thanks a lot man!
Thanks for taking the time to do this version
You guys are awesome for doing this, thank you so much!
Thank you for this version.
Love from Sweden.
Thank you very much guys!
Thanks a lot for reviewing European prices, not a lot of tech observers do that. Very appreciated!
Thanks for Europe specific content man. You guys are great!!!
Thank you for covering us!
I personally got a Gigabyte M27Q rev2.0 (which is identical to the M27Q P) for 240€ and it looks like I was right since all of your budget picks aren't even available in France or are way more expensive unfortunately.
Still, making videos for EU from time to time is really cool of you and it's appreciated.
"identical"? M27Q Rev. 2.0 is using an Innolux-Panel and M27Q P a way better and newer LG-Panel?
@@marzok9632 Oh didn't know that. Can you tell what are the differences ? Because when I checked comparisons for both monitors they were pretty much even.
Is rev 2.0 M27Q-SA?
@@walrider LG has better motion clarity and response times and is also better tuned in M27Q P: So it has a Single Overdrive Performance.
Also LG Panels pretend to have way better coating but in this case it shouldn't be a big difference. Especially because the M27Q P didn't use a Nano-IPS Version.
The LG Panel also has slightly better colours (but worse contrast, like most LG panels) and a hardwareintegrated low blue light.
@@UniteAnonymous I think the model name is the same than the M27Q rev 1.0 (really confusing) so that should be the M27Q-EK
Just got my Lg 27GR95QE based on your reviews and absolutely love it. Couldn’t justify the extra cost for brightness I really didn’t need, I do not regret the purchase at all.
Better than Samsung g7 ?
Thanks from uk keep up great work really helps buying.
Thank you, this is very much appreciated.
Searching for the monitors of the last video in France was a nightmare. I was looking forward to this video. Many thanks!
Thanks for the video. Curious to know why you’ve not done a review for the Philips Evnia 5000 range? Would be good to see some reviews for these as they look pretty competitive
Watching this video in my brand new Odyssey G8 OLED and its looking great! Got it for 880€ here in Finland. The QD-OLED comparison video helped me alot when deciding between this and the Alienware counterpart. Thanks for noticing Europe!
Thank you for this video!
Great thank you from Holland :)
great video, what are ur thoughts on the alienware AW2723DF?
Thanks for the Euro video!
Thanks so much for this
Great review. I did end up buying the LG 27GR83Q a few months ago as it was just 210€ and I'm happy with it, granted I can't fully utilize it yet (hope to upgrade to a midrange gpu soon) apart from esports title. Then again this is me coming from an old TN P2270HD (1080p 60hz) display. Hope to see your review soon.
Also saw about 100 units on Amazon Black Friday going for just 160€+ Razer Blackshark v2. Absolute bargain, wish I could have waited a bit more, oh well...
List for different regions is very helpful
I ordered a AOC Q27G2S/EU a few days ago. It's a 27" 1440P, 144Hz on HDMI, 165Hz on DP, IPS panel that is priced at about 269,99€ normally on amazon. I got it for 219,00€ and I will come back here soon to lay down what I think of it after testing it out a bit.
I own a AOC 24G2U and Alienware AW2521HFA, and color/contrast/brightness wise, the Alienware which cost quite a bit more is better only in refresh rates. So, my expectations are fairly high for the AOC 27".
Thank you so much for this!
I ordered the LG 27GR93U for 480 euros after seeing your review and RTINGS review, it arrived today and as of now I can say that I'm pretty satisfied with it, HDR may not be fantastic but it still is acceptable. I found my best settings in Gamer 1 mode, setting brightness to max and adjusting a bit the black stabilizer. Contrast is not high as my old 1440p VA panel (benQ mobiuz EX2710R) but the image quality and color fidelity is, overall, way better.
How do you find the Monitor for gaming? Are the colours good/not washed out?And how's the IPS glow.I am normally not playing in a pitch black room, but a slightly lit room.
@@saneldjukic6260 pretty good, responsiveness is great, everything is crisp and clean, colors are pretty good, not too vibrant, but definitely not washed out, don’t worry ;). I have no trouble at all in a room with constant brightness change, and when it’s more dark, the semi-gloss screen effect is pretty good. I can still say that I’m satisfied with the monitor as of now, so i highly recommend it to you :)
@@saneldjukic6260 It's fine, this module using a BOE panel that has a flaw: Text having a color fringe, im not used to that thing. as long as you dont care about that, it's fine
@@kaslofchen257 Thx for the repply.I don't do a lot of office work etc, mostly gaming and a bit of browsing.Maybe this issue can be fixed in a future software update.
@@saneldjukic6260 it's not a big deal though, i think many just don't even notice the flaw. BTW I believe this is more of a hardware stuff and cannot be fixed through firmware.
Please Tim going forward, more UW options and bigger than 27" coverage please. Thank you for your hard work
Thanks for including Europe dedicated video
Thank you so much for keeping Europe in mind!
Any chance of any Australia focused videos? It's a small irk as I know why Aus/NZ creators always focus on US market since they have more audience there but it's always something I notice when watching you guys and other local channels on similar topics, like optimum tech or similar
I second this as an Australian.
Yay!
Region specific content!
I'm pretty happy with my LG 38GN950P-B I picked up on black Friday for 682€. It's a shame there aren't any OLED options for the 3840x1600 resolution yet.
Now I really need to update my rig, my 980Ti with DP1.2 can't run the display at 144hz, so I'm limited to 75hz (cause 120Hz set the color to 4:2:2 and I can't handle the color fringing).
Early video 👍 great waiting til oled get better and more affordable
Amazing video. Loved it. I've become somewhat of an expert in monitors lately (since i'm looking to buy one) and your recommendations are spot on.
The LG 48gq900-b is on sale for 699$(US) making OLED much more obtainable for those of us on a budget and finally a real contender to the C2 at this price imo. It's big and probably not ideal for esports but I imagine it's great for single player games. Please consider doing a video on this monitor.
Nice explanation 😊
I have an M28U, and it makes me wonder if somehow the objective tests are failing to fully capture exactly how these screens look to our eyes in real time, because to me, the M28U looks so much better than you'd expect for 144hz. Just moving the mouse pointer around on a Windows desktop, the pointer is so sharp and clear. It's really close to the 360hz PG27AQN, and way better than any other monitor I have, so I actually use the M28U for fast multiplayer games in preference to the PG27AQN because I sure as heck can easily see the difference between 4k and 1440p, and I actually find that makes a noticeable difference in Rocket League or CS2 where being able to clearly see other players when they're small on the screen can be important. I know Tim is already highly recommending the M28U, but in practice I feel like it's subjectively even better than you'd think from the objective test measurements.
some of those could be attributed to it having quite high PPI (pixels per inch) rather than just the resolution. i'm thinking of buying a 27" 4k monitor too, mostly for text clarity, as i'm looking at text all day (which looks really bad at 24" 1080p, especially small font sizes)
I've made similar experiences with the Asus TUF VG28U. It has a really fast and clear IPS panel with adaptive Overdrive. The only thing i don't like is that it has no speakers. Otherwise i would have bought a second one for my engineering workshop. I have no space for speakers on my crammed and convoluted work table and want to keep it cable free as possible.
Great video, as always. I have an, admittedly very nieche, question: do you have any recommendations for 24" 1440p displays (based in EUW) for a casual FPS gamer (focus on low input lag/latency)? I am currently looking at the AOC Q24G2A/BK, but am unsure, because there are so few 24" 1440p displays on the market.
thank you for making content for europe
Thanks for thinking of us
Man thank you so much
Should I buy the Gigabyte g27q or lg 27gr75q?
I will mostly use it for watching movies and also occasionally for playing csgo. Which one has better colors and HDR?
big thanks for covering us Euro's !
I'm surprised the AOC Q24G2A/BK isn't mentioned. It's a 23.8"/1440p/165Hz/IPS monitor. It sounds like a great (and the only?) option for people who find 27" too big and 1080p too low. It costs about €200.
I would like to know if there are any alternatives to the PG279QM (sRGB, colour gamut, 240Hz) with 24"?
I own the aforementioned monitor and I love the colours and how it's an absolute allrounder, however I'm currently asking myself if 24" doesn't suit me better.
Bigger screens in general feel weird to me. I have severe concentration issues and find myself overwhelmed with a size of 27" already and I ask myself if switching back to 24" is a solution to this (apart from smaller screens giving me more "cozy" vibes and looking less spacious).
Anything there? There is one ASUS monitor in Germany with 270Hz, but I'm unsure about ghosting, colours etc., cuz no one who is believable looked at it. It's the XG249CM.
Would be nice to see some test results for the best monitors. At least some specs in written form. Was upset there were none in the best monitors video (the us version)
I bought the LG 27GR75Q in august... It is a great gaming monitor, amazing color accuracy and 165hz refresh rate with almost negligible backlight bleeding. It doesn't have a speaker, I had one from my previous PC and I'm currently using it to play on my PS5
How's the brightness and contrast? Are colors vibrant planning to buy too
Thanks :)
Still no mention of the Dell G2724D?
+1
Bless you Tim for thinking about us!
Is there any chance you would consider adding large display recommendations in the future? 55"+ category for example - for people that use their PCs as gaming + HTPC?
Thanks for considering the European market!
I’m looking to build a new gaming PC, and I’m considering which monitor to get. I’d love to have one monitor for both gaming and work, but I can’t decide which to go for. I’ve been spoiled by my OLED TV with consoles, but an OLED for coding all day probably isn’t great. Any thoughts or suggestions? I’d really love one for both use cases, but it doesn’t seem easy to find. I just don’t know if I can go back to gaming on a non-OLED, as stupid as that sounds.
Greetings from Germany!
Thank you for keeping us in mind over here. :)
Great Video as always. I do have 2 questions though:
isn't the AQN (360hz) price in the US excluding taxes? I think all US prices are without taxes, so essentially you would want to add another 15-20% to the price to make it comparable to EU, no?
I am infact looking at the AQN, because of my personal experience with OLED's, but I also think at 1200€ it's a little too pricey.
My 2nd question would be if you reckon there will be 34" Ultrawide NON-OLEDs in future?
The upcoming Asus 34" 240hz OLED sounds like the perfect upgrade from my LG 27" 1440p 144hz IPS, but as someone who had every other Galaxy phone and all my phones ended up with severe burn-in, I don't really feel like taking the risk of using an OLED monitor.
A third question just came to mind: do you think we will fix the downsides of OLEDS or rather use a different technology that doesn't have those downsides in the first place but will eventually have the same contrast or close to same contrast as oleds?
Cheers
I am scouring the web for a M27Q X priced normally in the UK but it just doesn’t seem to exist.
I would love to find out why we don’t seem to get any stock delivered here anymore as I don’t seem like the only one gunning for a Q X
Thank you for the helpful detailed review as always!
I just purchased the MSI G274QPF-QD today on Amazon for a great value price, I'm super excited! Uprgrading from Pixio 248 Prime
Big big props for trying to service us in the eu! Thnx a bunch!
I got myself an MSI MAG274QRF-QD Monitor a few years ago but I got older and work got more important....So now I'm in the market for a 5K Productivity Monitor. So its as far as I know between the Apple Studio, BenQ or Samsung Viewfinity.
For me the only prio is: Display sharpness, Color Accuracy and compatibility with my Macbook Pro. I stare at this display for probably between 8-12hours per day so something that's nice on the eyes is a nice bonus.... Oled not an option (sadly)
It's for my remote setup. I'm still hoping/wishing for a Retina Monitor from Apple and maybe 32" instead of 27" but yeah...This is where I'm at right now.
AQN and AQDM just went on sale in NL. Going 990 and 890 respectively. Not that bad.
I am just browsing between the two like a pelican. But due to the fact I have lg c1 55", I think AQN is a better fit as a side kick. 360hz ips for OW, CS, others and lg tv for single player
Thank you very much for doing a euro version ❤
Hi great video, can tell me for video editing what monitor is more good : Asus ProArt PA 278QV ore BenQ PD 2700Q ?
5:18 how about the Alienware AW2723DF ?
When its on sale it is about the 480-500€ mark.
Nice vid for us europeans! But one question: why are there no Samsung Odysseys in test videos anymore? I bought a Samsung Odyssey g52a a year ago for around 200€ and it is awesome!
Would you recommed the g7 240hz va panel?
Danke!
This channel is getting better and better
8:22 the gigabyte m27u is actually available in EU, proshop is a online store available in many stores that is selling this model (in stock).
Thanks for the video! You just made me choosing a screen a really simple ordeal. I snatched a Asus TUF VG27AQ1A for ~260 euros, since I was getting long in the tooth for a screen upgrade. You know you need a screen upgrade when you upgrade yout thinkpad screen with an IPS form 2014 and looks way better than what you have. And actively avoiding the gaming PC ever since. My only regret from the video is that most of them are 27', especially on the low side of the scale. A 30' would have been a cool add TBH.
I'm in the last phase of my upgrade cycle and am looking at replacing my 1080p 170hz monitor. I now have an rtx 4080 paired with a ryzen7 7700x cpu. Trying to decide if I should go with a 1440p 240hz or a 4k 170hz monitor. I primarily play COD, so the high refresh rate is very appealing to me. But I do also enjoy playing AAA single player titles (CP2077, Starfield, Alan Wake2, etc.) So that's the argument for 4k. I probably spend 2/3 of my time playing COD and the remaining time playing single player games. Is 4k worth sacrificing the higher refresh rate?
Have you think of making a video of 2nd and 3rd monitors where things like Hz are less important and other things are better valued ("more points")?
I would love to see reviews/comparisions of monitors like the Lg DualUp and similars to use as a 2nd monitor.
i was looking pretty hard for the asus oled 1440p monitor for this black friday, tho unfortunately not on sale anywhere in my country tho i did find the LG one for almost half the price of the asus one and i thought i would be slightly disappointed with it, but man im just blown away, people are saying there are issues wiht text etc and i havent had any of that, even fullscreening notepad++ or excel trying to find those issues on text and i just cant find it. so yea, considering how i have to look for problems and still not finding them is kinda amazing.
Im in the uk amazon were doing the LG27GR93u for £432 for black friday i work for them used my discount and got it for £390 very good monitor.
Given that you have guides for both the US & Euro markets, Which would you recommend following more closely when buying in the Aus markets?
Excellent and informative video. Keep it up!
I'm considering the Samsung Neo G7 32" for £836. I'll be using it for Series X and PS5 gaming. Is this a good price? Or would you recommend something else for the price?
THANK YOU
Great video! I', UK so a lot of US stuff isn't available to silly pricing. I'm curious no mention on the Samsung G7 Oddsey (G75T) 1440p 240hz?
Hi I don't know if you'll see this but I am wondering if the 27 inch BenQ mobius 1440p monitor is still worth getting or if there's a good alternative these days. I don't need the speakers and I do need two monitors. However it is very cheap on Amazon right now. Is the 250 nits (non HDR) good enough? Is it vibrant? Thanks
Literally only commented this on the other video.
Gentlemen and scholars yous are. Lots of love from the irish 🙏
Köszönjük!
Any ultra-wide you could recommend for gaming at 1440p *and* productivity on a macbook? I'm thinking 34" 3440x1440 would be best for productivity for that extra screen space (110 PPI works the best on a Mac), but all the monitors in this category were OLEDs with poor font rendering and burn-in issues.
Have you any thoughts on the AOC 24G2s?
Some additions that I found to be true in quite a few European markets that I would like your opinion(s) on:
Budget 1440p gaming monitor: Dell G2724D. It is usually not cheap enough (~300 euros) when sold by retailers, but Dell seems to have had it on sale for quite a while now, retailing around 230 euros. Looking at reviews from other sources such as rtings, it seems like this monitor is possibly the best (or one of) value 1440p gaming monitors on the market. Do you have any interest in reviewing this monitor in the future?
High refresh rate 1440p: Samsung G7 (27 inch), while having a higher normal price than MSI G275QP-X and GIGABYTE M27QX, is often on sale for as low as ~300 euros. The model is not very new, but for that kind of price I don't see many negatives as long as the buyer is fine with a curved monitor.
I've been wondering about G2724D as well and would appreciate an opinion, especially in comparison to the MSI G274QPF QD. Here in Poland the Dell can be found for around 300-320 EUR, while the MSI offering usually retails for ~360 EUR. LG is just ugly :P
I am from germany and bought it in directly from Dell for 229€. It arrived yesterday and I am staggered by it. I mean I changed my 60hz display with it so I joined another dimension of smooth images anyway by going from 60 to 165hz. But the image quality is aalso very very good in terms of colors and contrast. I use custom colors because I made slight adjustmens because I like my display with a slight higher gamma factor and
300 is not budget. You can get the Phillips 27 inch 165hz 5500vl for 220. Which is ridiculously worth it
@@Pand0rasAct0r_ Dell sellls the G2724D currently for under 250€. With its performance it is in my oppinion the best 1440p non oled gaming display currently.
@@floh667 eh its ips so less good contrast and its 290 here. compared to 220 of the phillips. i still think the phillips is better. especially if you actually want to watch stuff on it. or enjoy more visual experience.
I'm not in the European market but if I were, I would take a look at AOC Q24GA/BK and/or the Koorui GP01 if you want a 23.8" 165hz 1440p IPS monitor. Better PPI for text clarity than 27" and also the preferred size for competitive shooters like CS2.
