      The greatest series comeback in playoff history is 100% the 2004 Red Sox. Nobody has done it before or since, it’s indisputable. Greatest single game comeback in Boston sports history is 28-3 against Atlanta.

    I think Henderson's home run off Donnie Moore should have been on this list, and Vinatieri's kick vs. Rams (first walk-off win in a Super Bowl ever). Among those not mentioned, the triple overtime Game 5 of the 1976 Celtics-Suns finals was really something. Havlicek's basket with 1 second left in second overtime which gave the Celts a 1 point lead had the team already leaving the court, before they were called back and after a technical foul free throw, Gar Heard's basket set it to a third overtime, where they won by 2. But I guess it is really hard to keep it to just 10.

    • @richarddargan
      @richarddargan  9 лет назад +1

      Ed Vega True. 10 is pretty arbitrary number. I tried to focus on championship seasons, except for Bird's steal and Fisk's homer. I like plays that happen when it looks like they're going to lose, and someone does something to save the game.

    Boston needs a top 25. Let me just say this, the Fisk thing was big for awhile cause they had nothing else. But they have won three WS since. Give it a rest. Yes it was big, but THEY LOST THE WORLD SERIES, time to let that go.

    While I firmly believe that Roberts' steal of 2nd base should be number one, if you are going to have a Patriots moment there it should be Vinatari's clincher against the Rams. While the snowbowl kick was big also, it didn't win us the championship and literally kickstart the dynasty.
