Okay y’all! It’s about time y’all recognize that this is clearly a national thing and not just chapters deciding to take everyone who says they want to be a member. Y’all know that even if they were paper, if chapters could deny girls entry, they would not take this many girls. It’s just a different time. For some of us, we were able to enjoy that time old ritual that made us bond with our brothers and sisters, but for some of these Neos, as it is not all orgs and chapters, they have a different process. As long as they are financial, active, and upholding the principles of their respective orgs, is there really and harm done? Secondly, how many of y’all came from small lines in a more traditional setting yet you or your LB/LS dropped off the face of the Earth?
FACTS!!!!!!!! As long as you are a financial member, an active member, and upholding the principles of the sorority, I will welcome you with open arms. Rock on Sorors!!!

I am sorry I am a old school que, I crossed spring 90. That said, I can be honest when I have three LB's and am wondering what the hell is going with all these folks. This probate looking like a free buffet line all these people, what the hell is happening here. This is not what I came up on with AKA's, Delta's or even Rho's. this ish here...whats going on, how all these people crossing at one time. I started this journey looking at probate shows, my moms is an AKA that crossed in 64. and my sis crossed in 90. My daughter is looking at the organizational tenets and wanted to get a sense of what her grandmother and her aunt went through. Problem is, her grandmother had a line of 7, her aunt had a line of 9. I am already fighting an uphill battle because my wife is a delta...this right here, does not help. Real talk, the hell is going on here especially why the fug do you have them on probate with blue hats??????? As an edit I had my sis watch this and she is of the same mindset as me, spring 90 Winthrop University Mu Xi chapter. She gonna comment on her own but really, I am just trying to understand the thought process here.
I was thinking the same thing. I never pledged but I remember a time when it was a VERY exclusive group that was supposed to represent the best of the best in black excellence. The AKA Sorority members were a group of super fine women that were extremely smart and was a group you really had to strive to be a part of. Back then the vast majority of these women would not have been allowed in. Now it looks like they are taking any and everyone, even if they arent attractive or articulate and allowing them to receive pearls. My girlfriends and I look better than most of these women and are a lot more classy and refined, even without being in this group. Some of these women look like something you'd find in a local bar or strip club. I dont see anything "divine" about them. It's really a shame. Looks like the once fabulous AKA organization has gone downhill.
@@KillaKevProd All I am going to say is Apple Green. I hope these neophytes embrace there purpose. This chapter has a lot of resources to do a lot of good in there community and at the end of the day that's what this about. Shout out to the tail, tick tock. Edit, I am also sorry for my questioning these sisters legitimacy. Being on line was one of the HARDEST, things I've done in my life. I respect anyone that went through what I went through. My understanding is this is just a different generation and things are a LOT different to the point I don't even recognize some of this stuff. But I will say this, watching this has made me want to go to my chapter and oversee our fall line (my LB's too). Tradition and singular purpose, and alignment is important. Anyway, last comment on this, good job brother, I wish you well with your business and hope for nothing but success for you in your endeavors.

I don't agree.. We need to start changing the way we think and move as a people.. Changing our dynamics.. Starts at the college level.. Mark Zuckenberg is busy reshaping the world and figuring out how to build Facebook, while our kids are thinking about the wrong priorities.
know The Way Everybody isn't gonna to be Mark Zuckerberg lol the average white college student isn't like him either. People just want to see black people in a constant state of depression and hardship. We are the only race of people who judge each other for having fun.

I would say this concerning amount of ladies on lines at various institutions, that instead of just thinking about the amount on said line, you would also need to consider the amount of women of color at the college/university, in addition to the amount of ladies who have the GPA and the amount of current sorors in that sorority. All of this plays into the number of women that make line. The challenge is all of the line getting to know one another, well, that may be tricky however its not impossible, but one may not get to know each line sister as intimately, however they will get to know some more than others and over time their working together in sisterhood will allow it to grow organically for those who remain at that college/university after becoming members. I was only a line of 7 and still recall over 100 women who attended the interest and meet and greet before I became a soror at a PWI but back then we lived together during the entire process. Once we went over then there were like 200 who attended our interest and meet and greet. At HBCU's I would expect lines that are 4x or more in length simply because there are more women of color at HBCU's than at PWI's Old Head Silver Soror 31 years and counting?

That Line is entirely too large! They probably don't even know each other's names.
Large line because they where off yard a long time. Only had 3 members on entire yard.
Lines should only be 25 or under. This makes it seem like they're not selective
