The longest perfect March Madness bracket ever (we think)

NCAA Digital has rolled up its sleeves to look back at major online games, bracket reporting at its own NCAA tournament bracket game data to determine who has the longest perfect bracket streak to open the NCAA tournament. We've found that Greg Nigl's 49-for-49 start -- just 14 games away from FULL PERFECTION -- is the longest. Before that, it was 39 straight.
Please note: This is the best reporting we can do -- we cannot track paper brackets, and our pre-2004 records are based on reporting from games that likely did not keep these records. But we had to start somewhere. Good luck with your 2021 NCAA tournament bracket.
