    As a graduate of the Full Sail Film program from 2020-2022, I love that you’re taking the time to document each of these months and courses. Please keep up the unique perspective. It is giving me so many flashbacks to what it was like only a year or two ago. Makes me wish I documented my time too. The courses only get better, Candyland is always a hit or miss. Just make sure you’re making it clear to your classmates and friends what you’re passionate about doing in film, because otherwise you’ll get put into specific roles because your classmates will label certain expectations on what you’re good at, and you won’t have a lot of opportunities to be in the job positions you’re most interested in.

      Thank you boss! Totally agree with you. I would love to know more about your journey after you graduated.. any advice for me?

      Make the most of every class, and take careful note of the flaws. What Full Sail doesn't tell you is that if there's a serious problem with the curriculum or the instructors, you have the right as a student to report it and submit a complaint form. During our time at Full Sail during the pandemic, we often we given less-than-great teachers because they lacked the enthusiasm to carry the class. Also don't get caught in Full Sail's student resources trap. Their phone lines can often suck, but if you are persistent with any genuine issues you guys are having, you may get a chance to speak to the guy at the top. Hands down, biggest advice I could ever give, is this: DON'T RELY ON JUST THE CLASSES. More often than not, the best experiences you can have as a film student is by making films OUTSIDE OF CLASS. The classes should act as the bare-bones that introduce you to larger ideas, but you should absolutely take advantage of those ideas by acting on them outside of class and getting together with friends to make your films. Full Sail doesn't offer enough classes to make films as you might expect, and they sometimes can be group projects that are slower than you'd hope. Make friends, get to know who you like to work with, and make your own stuff on your own time. Especially if you're not working a job on the side. Please take advantage of being near Orlando, and film in cool public locations like Icon Park or Disney Springs.
      If you're interested in chatting about more advice or looking to chat, feel free to reach out to me via Instagram. Same name as my RUclips. Would love to share more about what I know, and maybe get ya connected with a few of my friends I know are still around there. @@anotherfilmer

    Awesome video! I'm switching to Film from the Game Design major, and I wanted to see what some of the classes are like. This makes me super excited seeing all of the hands-on work that you get to take part in.

      You're not required to be in the Film Degree to go be part of the sets and work on films or student projects.. so my recommendation is go try it out!! You will definitely love the change of scenery but also will be surprised how you can be a very valuable asset bringing over the game design knowledge!

    I really love working with lighting. That was one of the things I like about film

      It can make or break a film! I'm really passionate about learning more about lighting because it's such a creative aspect of film. Being a Director of Photography is low-key the dream job.. but if I end up on a camera team I'll be just happy! :)

    So for the housing situation do they help with the payments or do you have to deal with housing on your own out of pocket?

    • @anotherfilmer
      @anotherfilmer  Год назад +1

      Housing will be out of pocket but I do believe there is ways to attach it to your tuition loans so you don't worry about it until after graduation. The only exception I have seen is for veterans using GI Bill benefits who do receive BAH (a monthly housing allowance) but you also have to give up +/- 5 years of your life to military service...
