- Can the Paldean Starters beat Pokémon Scarlet by themselves? | And which Paldean Starter is the best?
To find out, I played through Pokémon Scarlet using only the new starters, and implemented a point system to determine who was the best. They gain points for ever major Pokémon they defeat, and lose points for every death. Let's see if I can beat the game, and which starter is number one!

I'd expected three different playthroughs, but then again, the video would be like fifty hours long.
I mean I could, but yeah that would be a longer video
@@NuzlockeJoeIt would also decrease bias based on which one you happened to choose to get certain KOs or even setup sweep with. (I'm pretty sure all of them can solo the game even with level caps though, given the right items/EVs/movesets.)
Definitely need one of these for every region. Kanto let’s go seems like the next obvious choice or swsh
I’d like to for sure, but this video is not doing too well at the moment
A lot of this is just whichever Pokémon you chose to use for certain fights.
I'm not too familiar with the Paldean starters so this was a nice video for me, of course the end list was the complete opposite of my favorites. sigh..
Gals you liked it, sorry your favorite didn’t do to well.
Let's go, a new post from my favourite Nuzlocker!
My favourite of the Paldea Starters is Floragato, it's a very cool middle stage starter. My favourite of the lines as a whole is Quaxly, although I don't really like Quaxwell, I picked it and Quaquaval grew on me.
Nice vid again Joe! I've finished my Scarlet run recently. Had a mixed team and loved it deerly.
This is so fun!
Why is there only one point give from the penny fight, when flowercat knock out three pokemon?
Are this the stronger trio of starters?
I mean it’s not entirely fair because the older gens didn’t get awesome signature moves
My favorite Violet Nuzlocke is Ghost and I hope you will do one somewhere down the line :)
Ghost is an awesome type. I haven’t done a mono type in a long time actually, so maybe I’ll go back to it
@@NuzlockeJoe Yes and in Gen9 many pkm do learn moves bite or snarl. So you actually have to kinda be on your guard against it.
Yep. And that’s why I ban skeledirge from my SV nuzlockes.
I just think it makes the game too easy. Having torch song + high bulk + okay speed to boost with flame charge is hilariously dumb. I would ban Quaquaval from hardcore nuzlockes because 1. bulk up or swords dance + aqua step is very dumb, and while it’s weaker in the early game it makes late game easier than it should be.
Weed cat isn’t even bad, it’s just not only does it have bad matchups for a lot of early game it also is the frailest but the most immediately strong. Meowscarada would be a top tier starter in *literally any other game* it’s just Skeledirge and Quaquaval are insane.
Oh yeah, I totally agree. I mean his signature move doesn’t give a stat boost, buts it’s still basically a 105 grass move with 100% accuracy that bypasses stat changes. It’s a solid move
If you include their hidden abilities I would put Quaquaval on top. Moxie is just that busted. Skeledirge is a strong 2nd since I would rather take Blaze instead of Unaware.
I would say even with a nerfed Protean. Meowscarada got closer too the other two since she can use Protean with her move pool. Since she is rather frail as you said, she probably won't ever take advantage of Overgrow. If Protean would still be unnerfed she would probably be number 1 or a really close 2nd.
Since that early game really just destroys Meowscarada and let's be honest early game if where the starter matters the most.
You could say it is Johto 2.0 which also just destroys the grass starter.
But I also see many similarities with gen 4 since there too you any starter you picked would be fine.
Good video
How bout not in another region but which of the galar starters or kalos starters do the best in paldea
Yeah that’s an interesting one
Me gusta el cocodrilo, los otros 2 no me convencen 🤔
(I like the crocodile, the other 2 don't convince me)
Is glaceon or espeon the best?
Espeon of course!
ok I'm gonna ask Espeon or Glaceon?
Espeon of course!
@@NuzlockeJoe Agree to Disagree?
FIRE CROC FOR THE WIIIIIIIIIN
I choose to reject this reality and still consider Sprigatito to be the best Paldean starter because cats > everything.
You can deny reality all you want, it doesnt change the irrefutable facts I've shown here.
Seriously though, Meowscarada with a guaranteed to crit move is incredible, especially with protean as it's hidden ability.
@@NuzlockeJoe I'm honestly too much of a noob to get why Protean matters on Meowscarada when it's already Grass/Dark and gets STAB from those moves anyway. I will admit Skeledirge is easily the coolest-looking final evo, though.
@@KatonRyu So protean is great because not only do you get STAB from every move you use, but it also makes your type unpredictable. In pvp battles, it can be hard to decide what move to use on a protean or libero pokemon because if they go first, their typings could be completely different, changing their resistances.
@@NuzlockeJoe Didn't those abilities change in Gen 9 to only activate once, though? I guess you could still swap out to make them activate again, but still.
@@KatonRyu Actually yeah, that's a really good point. They are certainly less useful than they used to be.
Calling me buyus / how about you the (fire starter) is stealing all the points i mean that's not fair to the other,s
