Just to clarify, critical hits ignore Light Screen and Reflect. Critical hits *are* dampened by burns, weather effects, and Paradox defensive abilities.
I feel like this restricted format in some ways is a little easier to follow for a newb spectator like myself. Its so cool to watch the adaptions. Like leftovers terapagos combined with rilla boom for reliably getting tera shell back. Or now psishock on farigaraf specifically to stop situations like that. Its so fun to watch
We'll get yet another restricted winning this tournament. I love how in this format there doesn't seem to be 1 restricted that's clearly the best. Maybe 1 restricted format is really better than 2
No it’s just that the matchup is generally more akin to Rock Paper Scissors. With only one restricted you essentially can only meet power with power. There not being one “central” team to beat is generally a sign of an unhealthy and extremely volatile metagame, especially this late into a meta where a sturdy, at the very least consistent, team should’ve been found.
@@anmol-soin nope, terastalization change the game. Living one extra turn or getting an extra boost to damage output really made the game more fun to explore, and the competitive scene has been growing
The interactions between Rosemary and Jake at 6:01:30 playing, "Guess That Pokémon", is so lovely. Those two have great energy, clearly love Pokémon and it's amazing to see them having fun. Great stuff! ❤️
2:43:37 OFFICIALLY LOVE GABBY SNYDER! MENTIONED MY TEAM XD! Went 5-4 with it, (says 4-5, but I forgot to turn in my match slip, took it back to the hotel by accident) I can explain it if anyone wants
@@jaredh37m zekrom has teravolt, ignores other abilities if they lower zekrom’s damage output-> so I can ignore raichu lightning rod, terapagos tera shell, with zekrom’s damage output I saw it as an absolutely great underdog pick with bolt strike (2 shot a miraidon with bolt strike after some dragon dances at NAIC, IT WAS EPIC) Avalugg, one of the best defenses in the game, high HP, assuming I run against a physical attacker, I’m guaranteed safe with max Hp max defense. Iron defense body press wide guard, i can wall opponents and protect against incoming widespread attacks. Even against sacred sword chien pao, only does about 1/4 damage, with leftovers, takes a while 😂. Tera fairy and I’m basically immune to chien pao. Special defense is a problem, but sturdy + mirror coat can turn the whole game around against miraidon, fluttermane, etc.
@@kingyveltal1623I honestly overlooked teravolt as an ability. It’s no intimidate or prankster but it’s useful in its own right. Bolt strike is such a cool move and I wish zekrom got more usage he’s such an awesome legendary. I had a feeling it was a body press set with avalugg because of the insane physical bulk but mirror coat is such a smart addition to help with the poor special bulk… I didn’t even know he got mirror coat! And ofc wide guard is nice because the ridiculous amount of spread moves lol

can we please get some new casters next season? nothing personal but i just like to hear people who actually play the game. like len deuel, cybertron etc are amazing casters
The issue with this is that say cybertron could make it to this event, he would more likely be playing rather than commentating. They will commentate occasionally, but to have consistently available casters, most will not be active players.
These people do play the game... Are you saying you want more VGC competitors commentators instead? Because while cybertron is the exception, most competitors aren't the best public speakers as we've seen in their interviews
@@MrWicked187nothing against them as people, but it’s very clear that a couple of the casters here barely play vgc. they have no intuition about a players mindset that your more seasoned casters have, they get moves completely wrong like thinking spore is a 4 turn sleep move. They start yelling at things that aren’t exciting because they clearly don’t understand the game state, and just display an overall lack of awareness. Talking slowly so that it sounds like you’re giving play by play is just lazy.
Also they've gotta give the commentators some computers to check the accuracy of moves n stuff because there's no way they should be expected to remember all of this
When did pokemon become so braindead. Double electric pokemon and just click 1 button with both Pokemons, one just one shotting with volt switch neutral... Most boring depressing state of the game I've seen
Im starting to think they manipulated the results in the play of the players, because how in the hell you are going to spore someone and from no where is going to woke up so quickly when they only do it to manipulate the time, come on man let the players play…
