I worked for an attorney like this two years ago. I remember sobbing in my office three or four times. He tried to act like he fired me when I quit, sending me all these texts about how I wasn't allowed to step foot in the office again. I printed them off and took them to HR. They fired him. Hope you're doing awful, Jim.

PTSD is NOT an excuse to be straight up abusive, toxic, create a hostile environment.
And I say this as someone who has extremely severe PTSD.
If Daniel is that mentally unstable,he damn sure should never be in the position he was in.period.
He will end up costing that company a lot of money, because employees will quit, customers will leave, and send poor reviews.suppliers won't deal with that.
    H.R really isn't for employees.
    They're there for the company

Exactly. If someone's PTSD is that bad, they need serious therapy. And they shouldn't be allowed to traumatize other people.

Exactly i have diagnosed PTSD. Major depressive disorder, anxiety disorder. No way would i treat any one like this. I admit i do have my "asshole days" but i feel them and i reach out to a counsellor to a friend. The other day i even put on music and danced for 2 hours. Just dont take ot out on others and then make people who have some sort of mental "ailment " look like bad people.

I love that Nikki stands up for people and for what she believes in. I find that truly commendable.. I know not a lot of people will do that. Men like Daniel clearly have anger issues and need professional help. No woman should be spoke to that way, especially in a work environment. Like “sir, I know you sign my checks, but you’re not my parent. Not even my parents speak/ yell at me like that”. 😤

There are just as many people suffering from PTSD caused by abusive spouses as there are war vets suffering from it. I'm not saying vets don't deserve care, but it frustrates me that there seems to be this expectation to just deal with it if a vet doesn't have the coping skills to treat other people in their lives w care

He was a nightmare to work with: he micromanaged everyone and was a smarta** knowing no one liked him, and he didn’t want music or chatting to exist. He made it known that he didn’t care about being liked as long as the job gets done. The work environment sucked, but ya girl needed the money so I stuck throughout the contract. All of your storytimes from when you were in middle school and high school and how you would get in all of these fights, somehow was comforting to me but more than that it was when you would talked about relationships and you handled guys not having respect or any issues you encountered that ultimately inspired me to get out of my relationship. You always have stricken me as the type of person to respect her worth and it was so inspiring for me at that time and still to this day. I have literally eaten so much abuse it's not even funny and watching RUclipsrs like you who have had the strength to fight back or clearly not accept that b.s. has always been so inspiring to me. Thank you Nikki, you probably have no clue how the way you handle conflict is the way I wish I did and now do. You are helping a lot of people and you probably don't even know it.

Had a very similar experience in my past with a former boss, like verrry similar. And like you, Nikki, it did not take me that long to realize that I needed to leave. In fact, I probably should have left sooner than I did. I left without notice. It was THAT bad. I think you did the right thing by resigning. Sometimes, you just have to protect your energy. My experience was as a receptionist at a real estate office. As a new employee, I noticed how the broker (name was Robert, actually 🤭) was very blunt, rude, never wanted to update anything (we were still using physical punch cards in 2015), and would use foul language. But, he had never talked to me sideways... until the honeymoon phase was over, like around my 2nd month. Then, he decided that it was OK to curse me out. Guess I was no longer special as the newbie. He seemed to have 2 personalities, too. He differed from Daniel as he could be goofy and pleasant at times. But, he could switch so quick. If his day was bad, EVERBODY'S day would be bad until he was over it. One day he called me on my extension and cursed me out with his office door open so everyone could hear it, over something that was not even my fault. His secretary, who had been used to his temper tantrums, started laughing, saying "here we go again." Um... no. His behavior was unexceptable. I'm a very passive person, but I started to lose my cool that day. Only reason why I stayed after being cursed out was because I convinced myself that it wasn't personal. 😕 Yeah... I don't know. I swear it was so bad, that one of his real estate agents actually printed out and handed me a job posting for something else. She probably thought that I was about to quit. The real estate office also did property mgmnt, and so I would process rent payments as well, and a few of the tenants expressed their surprise that I was lasting as long as I was there. Really bad sign. The former receptionist who was training me for a few weeks would have crying fits outside. Robert's secretary had 4 ulcers, his maintenance guy had very severe anxiety. All bad signs. The final straw was when I overheard him talking to his secretary about me and another new hire like we were idiots. Apparently, he was tired of us not understanding anything. He was like, "I guess I'M going to have to train them!" I thought to myself, oh heck no. He would be super condescending whenever he would show me how to do something. Always made you feel like a clueless idiot while requiring you to do things that were out of your scope and above your pay grade. I handed him my key and told him straight up "I am not going to work here anymore." Yeah, he had the nerve to be shocked, tried to act like I didn't just quit in his face, tried to argue with my list of reasons for quitting, but he finally got the message. I had nowhere else to go jobwise, but I knew I wasn't spending one more day in that real estate office. Thank God another job opportunity fell in my lap a month later. 😌

not going to lie I'm 22 years old and when I 20 maybe younger I went through something similar at a job and was draining it felt like I was stepping on eggshells it was a bad environment all around it didn't help that one of few women on the job I did the same and quite because I couldn't do it anymore. and hearing this gave so much anxiety and I wasn't even there. I am glad you got out while you could I and I do hope the lady that worked with him... I hope she got out at some point

This reminds me of when I was working at Starbucks as a barista, so while I was working at the drive through a lady was being so rude to me had dropped her change on the ground. Mind you it’s maybe .27cents at most and she demands I go in the cash register and give her more change because she’s “not picking anything up from the ground.” So I have to get my boss to open the register because I don’t have the code to open it, so I tell him the situation and he just loses it on me and starts screaming “this is not ok to do!! When the register is off at the end of the day who do you think will get in trouble for it?! Me, the manager of this entire Starbucks or you? Just a barista???” I literally cried when I went home that day and never went back. Later that day though, I vented to my co worker because he was yelling so loud at me that even the lady in her car heard and apologized but my co worker said “he means well and I’m sure he’s a good person it’s just he gets very passionate.” …. I just yeah. It was the worst work environment ever and now I’m happily somewhere else

PTSD is something crazy, something that’s hard to deal with and hard to get over- especially, if it’s from military service. Buttttttttt, it doesn’t make it okay to treat people with such disrespect and be so explosive. If he can’t run a business hire more ppl with better training, or train them weekly to handle the work. He definitely needs therapy and sometime to gather himself before going back into the work place. A office place isn’t the easiest job, especially for retired vets and it comes with a lot of people problems. That most average people can’t deal with. Sooooo yhhhh. That’s crazy. Glad you got out of there Nikki! 47:02

Dude, I don't care if someone has PTSD or not. That is absolutely NOT an excuse to use other employees as emotional punching bags. Daniel is clearly unstable and unhinged.

I don’t care who you are you can be a town mayor or whatever but I would not allow anyone to disprespect me in that way either. At the end of the day we are all human and equal no matter what position or status we hold in this world. I’m sorry you had to endure that and work in that hostile environment however, you did the right thing of leaving. Keep doing what you do Nikki much love!

What made his PTSD more important than Rhonda’s? She experienced trauma as well from her past abusive relationship. That’s so sad and unfair. And shame on that HR lady for making excuses. Y’all didn’t deserve that. I appreciate his service but it’s never okay to treat people that way. I hope Rhonda is doing well too 🙏🏼❤️
