Why is it that when I watch these tutorials, your method of explaining your painting process, broken down step by step, seems so easy and doable? Yet when I try it, it comes out a bloody mess lol. Any tips for the trim highlighting? i can barely get the thunderhawk lines as thin as your incubi darkness lines. Whenever i try to paint with the tip of my brushes (no theyre not just shitty brushes even brand new ones) the paint just.. doesnt get off the tip onto the model
I guess without seeing what you are working with it's making sure you have a good point on your brush - twist it as you pull it out of the paint - and also make sure you don't have too much paint on your brush Other than that you may need to add a little more water to the paint so it flows better and doesn't dry on the tip
Hey Coach, this video comes just in time 'cause I'm thinking about starting to play W40K Kill Team with a Black Legion squad since I love their lore. Btw. I recommend Aaron Dembski-Bowdens Black Legion novels (I'm waiting for the third). As for this particular tutorial, I like how you paint the golden parts. In most other tutorials in RUclips they are too shiny imo. I think what would have made this model even better is an additional paint for the sword case. Maybe a copper or at least a normal red case? What do you think?
At 9:46 when you go back to the eye in the centre of the armor, did you add another coat of anything as it looks to go from yellow to a more orange shade. Is this just a trick of the light or did I miss something.
Any chance of you'll have a go at painting Dragon Warriors Chaos Space Marines? I'm looking to paint my Chaos Marine battleforce to counter my Salamanders. Also, your Welsh accent is fantastic!

Hmm check out Juan Hidalgo 's alpha legion vid - he does scales with an underpainting technique For red and black armour I have loads of videos that show that in different colours - you could check my Blood Angels or Black Templar vids Hope that helps!

Other than that you may need to add a little more water to the paint so it flows better and doesn't dry on the tip

I honestly can't remember - it is possibly a trick of the light, or it could be I added another layer as the yellow didn't have enough depth

Biggest mistake I see is trying to highlight black. Black will highlight itself when on the table
