So can I. I'm also a profoundly deaf 16 year old girl with cochlear implants on both ears and I'm an Irish Dancer. I speak English, French, ASL, and I'm going to start learning either Spanish or Latin soon. She ain't ALL that special. Also, why would her being bilingual or more make her an idol? I'm certainly not an idol to anyone, so why is she? I'm just curious.
Leslie Mergist now, you're my idol too! I think that everyone who doesn't give up and gets through life doesn't matter how hard it is , then, they deserve to be called "idol".
that lip reading just reminded me of the video you did with Drew and watching that back on mute, even after knowing what was being said, it was really hard to tell what was going on and all of that was in a control situation. I still enjoyed it and this video as well!
This is a question I have too! I can not speak for someone who is deaf, but I would imagine that they would think in sign language. I would love for Jessica to answer this question! :)
I have NO idea lol I haven't learned anything about this so it's hard to answer. But like if you think about it, like do we really "hear" a voice in our head? Or is it something else? It's a question I will probably never know the answer to.
i think I know what ALZulas means. Do deaf people think in Sign language or hear voice? The answer depends on the person's upbringing. Some have learned ASL their whole life and never learned to talk so they will "think" more in ASL and pictures. While others may wear hearing aids/Cohlear implants and have learned to use speech so therefore they may have that voice. Again, every deaf /hoh person will be different. Some may come from a hearing family with not much interaction. Other deaf may have a very rich environment with full sign language and English education instill them. haha hope this helps sorry I'm rambling here -Annie
I'm not deaf but when I think I don't hear a voice in my head most of the time (unless I'm studying cuz it helps me remember stuff) I just have a logical process going on in my head, no words, sort of like how an animals brain would work? 😖
God girl I love this! Your humour is fantastic! I have wondered about starting a deaf channel in particular for cochlear implant/hearing aid - middle of the road deafness but didn’t think it was possible to get such a big audience. You are proving me wrong girl! Inspirational you are :)
I asked a deaf social media account how some deaf children gain the ability to mouth words.+ Someone read the comment wrong and told me that, "all deaf people can read lips, so mouthing words helps them understand us better."... I had no response for that
Very informative! Thank you! I work at a university with students that have disabilities and every little bit of help to understand how they feel helps!
Jessica Flores dios mio, you're so sweet (and funny)! I love your videos, it's great the way you represent deaf people and how you make everyone see your reality. Never stop doing it, please💖👏
As a hard of hearing person, I listen to music wildly load. To the point I’ve had coworkers as where I get my over the ear headphones from (Walmart) and how much my Pandora subscription is, $60 for 12 months of ad free bliss.
Hey Jessica! :) I am a hearing person, but I've always been amazed by deaf culture. I had a friend who was a CODA and ever since then, I've tried to learn ASL. Now that I am 20, I'm actually trying much harder. But anyways, *you're* the real reason I decided to put forth all of my effort into practicing ASL every day! Especially since if I ever get another job in, say, retail or something like that, I want to be able to talk to someone who is deaf and help them without them having to feel any sort of stress that they shouldn't feel, like things you've described in your videos. Sidenote: I think ASL should be taught in schools as an elective or something. Anyways, just wanted to leave this nice comment and thank you for your videos!!! :)
Omg I love watching your videos. They are so funny and energetic and really get my day off to a good start. Plus, they are educational! I started learning PSE a while back and your videos have been helping a lot. Thank you so much for being awesome!
Oh my gosh I LOVE you! I am so glad you went on Drew Lynch's channel! I am a disabled mom of four, I train service dogs which is how I came across drew's channel and I just LOVED your personality so much! You are so upbeat and have that freaking like "awesome and I know it" kind of attitude! I have sub'd and am looking forward to seeing more of your videos! -Kasey
Yes! Take it one day at a time. If it's too much give yourself a break from them every now and then. It takes a while to get used to but slowly over time it gets better :) Keep me updated
Not true. My license states I must have side and rear view mirrors or my hearing aids. Nothing about being able to hear horns. In fact my hearing aids are almost worthless and can't hear a thing without them. Deaf people as a rule, constantly check our surroundings while driving
So, because I can't hear, I shouldn't be allowed to drive??? I'd be more concerned with the drunk drivers, people who read while driving, text, put on make up
Where do you live? There are other ways to "hear" the horns and traffic. Like personally, I pay attention to the brake lights 15mins ahead of me, I also always look around in my mirrors. If someone is honking I can tell by looking in my rear view mirror (since I am always looking in my mirrors) and seeing if the person is gesturing a lot, if they upset or trying to tell me something. A lot of people tend to honk and gesture to people in their cars because they know that other drivers can't understand what they are trying to tell them by simpling honking. For example like if you leave a cup of coffee on your car people honk and point to your car or if you are a bad driver they might honk and flip you off. Also if I am driving at an intersection that has no stop signs, I scan the cars that are parked where there might be cars coming and I look to see if there are any motion reflections of oncoming traffic before I drive through. So there are a lot of different ways to drive without your hearing. Truth be told, deaf and hard of hearing people are really good drivers because we are visual people. And because of that, we tend to spot thing a lot faster than most people since we rely heavily on visual cues every day.
Think? Yeah, duh. Images and imagery text words! ;) It kinda feels like being asked a question that has an obvious common-sense answer. Someone asked me once: “Can you sneeze and cough?” Hahahahah! Duh. :)
Jessica Flores I wish I did that! I was only 15 and shy when a girl bully said that to me and my interpreter unpleasantly interpreted to me what she said. I just looked at her silently and then said “uh yeah I can...”
It's also easier to lip read when you now the person I have a hard time reading the lips of people I don't know I'm hard of hearing and I can hear higher pitch better than lower
Hi! I was just wondering that since you have said in some of your other videos that you have a severe to profound hearing loss if you are a candidate for a cochlear implant or if you even want one. I’ve commented on a video before when I first got my hearing aids but my hearing has declined since then so I was just curious about it. Sorry don’t think I’m weird lol😂
I loved the "ay dios mio!" part😻😹. She is deaf and she can speak more than one language. New idol found.

OMGoodness!
I cant believe some of those questions were actually asked.
Hey I am 13 years old girl that deaf and I absolutely love you same as my mom thanks
Girl I can't hear kids either. I totally rely on adults telling me what they have said
HAHHAHAHA!!!
haha funny! yeah little kids voices are hard to hear! i just smile and nod if they are peppering me with questions.
This video deserves million likes.. it's such a shame nobody in the world would care to bother learn about deaf culture and language!
that lip reading just reminded me of the video you did with Drew and watching that back on mute, even after knowing what was being said, it was really hard to tell what was going on and all of that was in a control situation. I still enjoyed it and this video as well!
Super speech!! Thanks for your wonderful support to spread awareness.
When I think I hear a voice in my head. Do deaf people hear a voice in their head when they think? Or is it more like.... pictures or something?

idk about other people but for me, I kind of think in feelings and concepts.

I love this girl
I missed you Jessica

Wow I wonder if they ever read lips before lol
You are so funny! I love your "Ay Dios Mio", you are the coolest!
Very informative! Thank you! I work at a university with students that have disabilities and every little bit of help to understand how they feel helps!

Don't cry too much or I just might start crying too!

You rock!!!! :) Stay awesome!!
So hilarious and you got all questions covered on the point. Bravo and high five !!!
“Unless you have master the terminology of what I’m saying right now” how close was I?
I correct myself “unless you have achieved the total Master of terminology to what I’m saying right now.”
you got the "unless you have ...." and "What I am saying right now"
Your like one of my favorite RUclipsrs because even with your situation you are still so positive on life 💕
You never disappoint! Excellent video!
Omg I love watching your videos. They are so funny and energetic and really get my day off to a good start. Plus, they are educational! I started learning PSE a while back and your videos have been helping a lot. Thank you so much for being awesome!

Like Jack turn aub titles on 🤣🤣🤣
Also a lots of people keep on asking me to lipread and it like back off I need space btw
Hi Jessica I’m getting hearing aids on Monday do you have any tips with them?
Yes! Take it one day at a time. If it's too much give yourself a break from them every now and then. It takes a while to get used to but slowly over time it gets better :) Keep me updated
Haha. Great vid! 👍🏻
Unless you have the tool to get back to the beginning to understand what I’m saying right now.
Got some of it lol!
It’s cos I’m also deaf lol
YOU HAVE FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM!!!!
#PotterheadsUnite
Yes as long as you can convince the RMV/DMV that you can hear horns and other traffic.
Not true. My license states I must have side and rear view mirrors or my hearing aids. Nothing about being able to hear horns. In fact my hearing aids are almost worthless and can't hear a thing without them. Deaf people as a rule, constantly check our surroundings while driving
That scares me honestly. I'm glad my RMV is very strict.
So, because I can't hear, I shouldn't be allowed to drive??? I'd be more concerned with the drunk drivers, people who read while driving, text, put on make up

Have I mentioned how awesome you are!
you must be awesome too since your name is Jessica :D
Turn sub titles on
Think? Yeah, duh. Images and imagery text words! ;) It kinda feels like being asked a question that has an obvious common-sense answer. Someone asked me once: “Can you sneeze and cough?” Hahahahah! Duh. :)
HAHAHHAHAH did you cough on them?? I would have :D
Jessica Flores I wish I did that! I was only 15 and shy when a girl bully said that to me and my interpreter unpleasantly interpreted to me what she said. I just looked at her silently and then said “uh yeah I can...”
Have you seen A Silent Voice? It’s a good movie 😊
No! I really want to but haven't yet ;(
It's also easier to lip read when you now the person I have a hard time reading the lips of people I don't know
I'm hard of hearing and I can hear higher pitch better than lower
Yes I am going to be making another video covering that! So true!!
I am a candidate! My hearing is also dropping pretty fast! Do you have an email? I can email you more about it if that's okay, let me know! :)
Jessica Flores yes. Haha any possible way I can give it to you on Instagram or something? Just don’t want my email on comments for anyone to see 😂😂
She's literally Liza Koshy 😂
I can hear kids great. But adults with low pitches. Not so well. Low in is my worst. I am only hard of hearing.
How did you come up with "LimeMoney"?
I'm kind of hard of hearing... And still have a hard time lip Reading
I M FUN WITH BETTER AMAZING! SHE IS DEAF AND VERY FUNNY!!!!!!
Wut do you say? I can't read lip week ;-;
