I love corning ware. I have several pieces of the cornflower blue. A bunch of mine came from my grandmother. I actually use mine on a regular basis. I had not seen several of the patterns shown today. I love the brighter flowers with the primary colors. It's so pretty. Thank you for bringing my brain more knowledge! You're the best!
I accidentally bought a newer version of the large 12 x 12 (guessing, because I'm not at home, with lid, not vintage, from an estate sale by an elderly man who was working alone inside his relative's home. I did not know the value of things back then, but I bought it for about $5. It is luxurious to cook with and very expensive here now, no matter the age.
I obtained a nearly complete set of the pansy CorningWare in 1996 or 97. The plates have been run through the dishwasher so many times, they barely show the pansies any more. But the bake ware is all in good condition, as are the cups & saucers, mugs, gravy boat, salt & pepper, and several "tins". Also a teapot and a package of paper napkins! I have some juice glasses, and once had place mats. I think it must have been popular in the 80's, but you rarely see it anymore. Thanks for pointing it out, now I can tell my kids it is vintage . . .
I love cooking in my Corning Ware too. My husband accidentally broke one (I know, I should have cast him out, but he scoops litters boxes so I’ll keep him) and ironically the same week we found the exact piece at Goodwill and bought it. Back then I think it was $1.00, but it’s been 30 years. I cook everything in them, from baked chicken to green bean casserole to rhubarb crumble. I also use the small square one for the egg mixture when I make French toast. Love my Corning Ware!
The big thing that makes visions great is that you can use them in the oven, microwave and even stovetop. You can brown your meat and bake it in the same pan, put it in the fridge and reheat it in the microwave. ONE pan to wash.
I have a 3 piece set that is solid green on the outside. I also have the handle that you can attach to the piece that is 8 inch round and can be used like a frying pan.
I have Visions since 1983, then bought the cranberry, when they came out, never had a problem, also that year I bought an electric Jennaire electric stove top, that's still going strong, I find visions at many yard sales, and fleas, I sell the ones I have triple of, and make money😊
My sister and I were just looking at a lot of these at an antique store yesterday. The info you are giving is just what we needed to know. We are going back soon. Thank you for this information and it will help us to understand the value of different colors and flower patterns.❤
Thank you Dr Lori. I have the visions pot with matching lid and it’s still clear and also the primary color pansies, I got the 3qt because of it’s colorful design and am happy to report that I have kept it in good condition and use it too!
Love Winter Park Fla, home of Rollins College where I was a guest student from Italy and were I waterskied a lot on Lake Virginia and Lake Sue in the ‘70. Wonderful place and awesome memories.
I've presented my Antiques Appraisal Comedy Show at Rollins College many times. It is a lovely campus. Great part of the country. I'm headed to Italy soon.
Hi Dr. Lori! I've got the cornflower set, the Iris set and the matching dinnerware/sugar bowl/gravy/salt, pepper etc, and the Visions that I barely used. I preferred to use my Mom's Flint copper bottoms on the stovetop, she got them for her Bridal shower in 1958 or 59. I still use them and they look like new🙂 thanks for your video as always tons of great info!
I'm moving after 46 yrs in my house been collecting for 50yrs. Things are going to church thrift shop, a vintage dealer in town and Good WILL. After dropping off a bag of clothing, I visited my stuff!! I recognized several things. I hope the buyers will have as much fun as I did, collecting these items. I saw 4 Chridtmas spode cups and saucers.$2 apiece. Great buy for someone

I love Corning ware my mom had the blue and white set. I could go back and hear what you called the pattern. But I'll forget again. Thank you Dr. Lori your a great teacher. 🙋♀️
I had that set of the Visions ware. IT SUCKED!!!!! Everything burned, even when you were stirring!!!!!! I got rid of them REAL QUICK!!! They are NOT worth the money.
How fun, I never knew CorningWare had a pansy print. I've started collecting the blue corn flower and it's funny because in the beginning I thought it was tacky but as I'm getting older it's very nostalgic and I appreciate the 1960s look of it. The only other pattern I will pick up is the green medallion, I recently saw a blue medallion I told myself oh no, I can't start collecting that too. I thought the medallion pattern was only sold at pennies, but online it said they were sold or offered through Shell gas? I don't know I need to do some more research on that.
Great video. I would love it if you could do one on the corning ware coffee/tea pots...especially on some of the harder designs to find. I have one of the "say it with flowers" design and have been unable to find the others for years. Very hard pattern even to find info on line. I have a Renaissance pattern coffee pot and would love to know more about it.
@@DrLoriV I am very new to RUclips trying to learn how to use the site. I will look. Love your work by the way. You are a brilliant lady with a wealth of knowledge.
Hello Dr. Lori. I have a question 🙂 I have a painting by an French-Japanese artist Tsuguharu Foujita. It is signed, and I know the approximate cost of this painting. However I don't know how to prove that this picture is an original. I contacted Japanese representatives, they said that the Japanese text on the back and signature is genuine. But these were not professional appraisers. Can you look at the painting and confirm whether it is an original of this particular artist?
I'm not sure if you read comments but I have a set of lidded square casserole dishes that I purchased at Zellers Canada in the late 80's or early 90's. I've searched extensively online and I can't find one single piece or the name of the pattern. Please reply and let me know if there's a way to send you a photo so perhaps you can help me identify these pieces.
I was married in 1960 and received many pieces of cornflower cookware. All my lids have wide flat handles except the skillet which has the matching lid with the knob.
There's thousands of that ivy pattern available on ebay with a sell through rate of 5% average sell price at 15-20 bucks which means that market is saturated with that particular pattern. Your knowledge in this particular category seems suspect 🧐

Why did you not like cooking with the Vision Ware? I hadn't heard of it before this.

I had that set of the Visions ware. IT SUCKED!!!!! Everything burned, even when you were stirring!!!!!! I got rid of them REAL QUICK!!! They are NOT worth the money.
I agree- lived in Corning NY when these were invented and launched. Hated them
Agreed! The frying pan was the worst. It burned everything.
Agree. They were horrible. Got rid of mine soon after I bought them
I love my Visions and have never burned anything. Just luck?
I still use my Visions cookware, but I have never had issues with burning and found easy to clean.

You have so many patterns in the States. In Australia, we don't have these. I would've loved the pansy pattern it's my favorite flower.
Hi, Dr. Lori!
I've bought an unused 1 qt. with a lid and a handle in an original box for 3000JPY($20).
The design looks like an abstract hen. lol
The Iris Corning Ware would go perfect with my Iris Core like dishes. I have the set a long time.

Visions. My sister gave my hubby and me a set for our 1992 wedding.

I still have many pieces from my first marriage 1964,including the measuring container with lid that I made my daughter’s formula.
Sweet.
I purchased a 3 piece set with lids of the corn flower pattern at a garage sale for 10.00. Sold a week later for 35.00
I had a set with ivy print around anyone remember those ?? However I never cared for how it would cook a meal so I got rid of them 😮
