    YESSSSSS I moved to America as a kid and it was a culture shock sleeping under these thin, scratchy blankets. Bread was weird. Butter was weird. It was a rough transition. 20 years later, I have my IKEA duvet, “french dinner roll” from the store as brötchen and use Irish butter. Not perfect, but close!

    Oh, absolutely - Bepanthen is THE thing! I learned about it when I did an intership in a childeren's hospital - they used it for everything from diaper rash to chicken pocks. I mainly use it for dry spots from my sensitive skin or for dry lips in winter. Though I am an avid hiker, I so far never had a Deuter backpack - my husband had a Vaude one and a Mamut. I should maybe invest in a "vernüftige" Version though...

    Hey, I also have multiple bag packs cheap and quality and all of them have a rain cover in the bottom pocket. My oldest & cheapest (ALDI) bag back is now used for tools/craft.
    My quality Deuter bag pack (30L) is most comfortable to carry because of its airy and arc shaped backside, but it misses inner pockets / pouches as other city/business bag packs do have.
    Thats why I prefer a newer and subdivided city bag back for office work & shopping.
    For longer (train) trips (Aachen-Flensburg) I now use a big 60L bag pack.

    Lol you made me run and check my backpack! It also has the pullout raincover and I love it. It’s a different make - Camel active. So I can be German in disguise when travelling (well, I only became German a few years ago, I have to build up to it lol). Yes to the duvet and the tempos, too. But my favourite crisps (potato chips) are Walker’s salt and vinegar, only the actual British ones. Eat them at the seaside with a cold beer. The perfect mixing of cultures…

    So much more clarity now, however 'alltages' it may look at first! My biggest backpack is just a bit smaller than your smallest one. 😅 I'm sure that might change over the course of some time of living in Germany. And those zippers with rain covers are indeed awesome! Oh, and that very kind of blanket is an absolute necessity and a favorite to me... douvé, or I don't know how to write that, sounds to me like a French word, but Iove them definitely and I'm happy I won't have to miss them! All else mentioned, well, it's up to be seen and felt about. 🥰 🎒

    I prefer Bepanten Augen- und Nasen Salbe. It is a smaler tube and it can be used on any muscosa (nose,eye..) for my kid it was the Zaubercreme (magic creme) for any sore peace of skin on the body.
    I also like the hot water bottle, cause I don’t have a microwave.

    As always, I'm having fun and additional insights with the comments each Monday evening. But seriously, if Deuter and Buko don't sponsor co-op with you, then I don't know what they'd be waiting for! Oh, and Bepanthen. I have developed a skin allergy to dry heat weather and the last couple of summers have been one hell of fighting it, so I immediately remember this one. 😊

    • @simplegermany
      @simplegermany  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, the comments are fun to read! hahaha maybe we get a Deuter sponsorhip one day 😅
      Oh, I hope Bepanthen will be able to help your skin allergy! Although it's a very thick cream. Please keep us posted.

    • @fannychristozova8158
      @fannychristozova8158 2 года назад +1

      @@simplegermany It has to be thick, the one I'm using Triderm, is thick and strong, of course only applied to problematic areas. But the allergy itself, with less severe treatment could as well be mended with change of the climate. I once mentioned to you that I'm running away from Bulgarian July and August weather, well that's why. 😂 My town is such a prominent touristic destination each summer, and yet is the one place which is absolutely unhealthy to me. You will be informed, and thank you!

    • @simplegermany
      @simplegermany  2 года назад +1

      Are July and August super dry in Plovdiv? Summer in Germany can me humid humid sometimes. So I hope that will help with your allergy 🙂

    • @fannychristozova8158
      @fannychristozova8158 2 года назад

       @Simple Germany Yes. So humidity is key. I love summer and wearing light clothes, enjoying a beach... But you see, in Plovdiv July and August for the most part have temperatures of 38-41 degrees, below 10% of humidity and not a leaf moves from wind. 24 hours for 5 or 6 straight weeks. Slightly different from your cozy sauna, I suppose. 😅With age and past my mid 30s now I've developed ever growing intolerance and skin allergy, like rash, but now I'm fine, it only starts with dry weather heat. So I don't plan on surviving another summer here. I'll be in Germany within two months from now, maybe a bit less. 😎

    Hi!
    I'm a backpack person, I don't even own a Handtasche! And currently it's a Deuter. 😂 I like a specific way of different pockets and how they are placed. That shrinks the backpack market for me drastically. Also I need to have a stabilized back part......Deuter it is!
    I used to have Kirschkernkissen, but I changed to Dinkelkissen (spelt grain) decades ago. I make them myself, I use them all the time and friends and family love them too. They are a great gift and function the same way as the cherry ones. The difference is the size of the pips and grains. The Dinkelkissen adapts *more smoothly* 😅 to the body.

    Here in Hamburg I obviously only get Aldi (Nord). I totally get it. With their recent incentives to switch their providers of meat products up to more Bio / organic versions I can again support them more. Until then I had decided to boycott Aldi (either version) due to their demands on their suppliers for incredibly low gros prices, especially when it came to the liter of milk.

It would be also very useful to hear your opinion, what should be brought to Germans as gifts from other countries and also what should be brought for yourself because we can't find it in Germany ))) I am sorry for being so long)))))))) Thank you a lot!!!

    • @simplegermany
      @simplegermany  2 года назад +2

      Hey Iulia, from my own experience, Germans love to get food or drinks as gifts. Something special that they might not be able to find in Germany and nothing too crazy sweet or full of sugar.
      Could you please expand on your question on moving to a village with a baby? We don't have experience with that, but would be happy to ask around and maybe provide some more insight on that.
      You can find almost anything in Germany. So I'd say pack light and whatever you cannot buy here you can bring from home next time you visit or have a friend send it over.
      Hope that helps. -J

    Ich war auch Tempo Fan, bis ich die grünen Kleenex Balsam entdeckt habe, noch viel angenehmer und weicher. Habe mir es erst auch nicht vorstellen können, aber sie sind wirklich besser, wenn auch nur für zu Hause in Boxen

    I am chuckling to myself because my son, soon after he moved to Germany, said something offhand about how great the "kleenex" is.
    What?!? Of all the weird things! Well, he did not elaborate and the remark got lost in other conversation.

    I am just curious.. How is the rain cover for the Deuter backpack such an amazing feature? There are many backpacks on the market out there that are completely water-proof on their own, without the need for any cover whatsoever.

    • @simplegermany

      We just like the versatility and texture. The fully waterproof ones don’t have a nice texture and are by far not as comfortable, at least for us 😅

    About tempo: what I love about it, is that it does not fall apart if you forget it in your clothes and wash it in the washing machine.
    I ALWAYS forget tissues in my pockets. With other brands the tissue dissolves in the wash and then you have these tiny pieces sticking to every clothing item you had in there. With Tempo the most that will happen is that the layers separate. So theoretically you could wash a used Tempo and use it again. LOL
