Been riding a used R3 for about 6 months now and absolutely love it. Im a newbie and it’s a Perfect beginners bike. I’m 5’9” and flat foot it easily. And it gets 67 mpg which is amazing. There are times when I wish it had a tad more passing power but the handling makes up for that. I ride mainly twisties along the West coast.

This video ages splendidly! Checking this out in 2019 while I am mulling over picking this beauty. Mind you, planning on getting this model, not the 2019 update (which is not available in India yet, luckily?)
Im 46 years old I've owned the following, 94 CBR600, 96 zx9R, 87 GSXR1100, 89GSXR1100, 03 GSXR1000 and a 03 CBR 954. My point? I'm over having the fastest bike on the road......... I want one of these...... they look like a ton of fun :)
Great first bike! I bought the 2016 matte grey version and outgrew it eventually. Nimble, has enough power but not too much to get you in trouble, and easy to learn on. Giving it to my wife when she learns to ride!
Would like to share that in Australia it is the exact opposite with the ABS on this bike. It is available in ABS only, non-ABS models do not exist. That could mean that we are forced to pay more. For anyone that is interested it sells for $6999 Drive away (so includes registration, taxes etc) which at time of writing is equivalent to US $5259 or £3372
This is a nice bike, I changed my tires to pirelli angel gt which is nice for road and mileage. The sound feels unique too, r3 has a nice top end power compared to ninja. It's an agile machine too, traffic jam isn't a big problem for this bike.
I have a 2015 r3 my only complaint stock clip on height I flipped the triple clamp and clip ons, and did a larger tire upgrade 10+....10,000 miles later still no regrets in buying this bike

***** All are priced very close to each other in some countries. All are positioned as sporty beginners bike in some countries and as hardcore performance bike in few others.Even though its 500cc it has slightly more power, but its offset by its massive weight. The yamaha and the ktm produces similar amount of power. Ktm producing more torque but the yamaha fights back with its higher revving twin. The ninja is the underdog here but still it manages to come close. So all three are comparable. Just that the manufacturers are taking a completely different approach in engine department. Potential buyers do consider all the bikes before buying one.
Allan Francis Xavier The KTM is built in India, so quality is low... KTMs built in Austria are already problematic, can u imagine one made on a budget and built in India? But hey, it's your money.
***** I'm pretty sure everything he mentioned puts out 44bhp which is to comply with the new license category for under 21s in the UK so I think it's a fair comparison.
Don't hold your bike with the handlebars, your hands might slip off. Standing on the seat with the cops chasing you using your hands to flip the cops the bird, now that's the way its done, right trolls? Seriously, you guys should make more Bike reviews.
I like that Yamaha hasn't polluted their R series of bikes by naming other less-sporty bikes with an R designation. When you see R#, you know it's a sportbike. I think Honda watered-down the impact of their flagship models by naming all bikes in a series after them. When you hear CBR, you should think of their track-focused sportbikes, but there's beginner bikes named CBR too. They did the same offroad, with CRF labeling every dirt bike, including what used to be the XRs and the Z50, later XR50 - there are more non-competitive, non-race CRFs than there are true CRF race bikes. To me, that ruins the impact of the name. What if every Chevy were called a Corvette? I'm sure it's Honda's thinking that since CBR and CRF are their high-end race bikes, naming everything CBR/CRF will help sell those because it'll make owners think they're riding steeds of the same gene pool or something. Honda needs to learn, when everything is special, nothing is special.
Went and looked at the red r3 today and will be back to purchase this week. Amazing bike feels so much more comfortable than the ninja 300 and cbr 300 everything is so tight and sleek
***** The R6 has been great for so long, and now we have the new R1 and this new R3, not to mention the FZ/MT-09 and -07 as well as the FJ-09! Incredible! How do I choose? Guess I need them all haha! -DrewZilla
been looking for an A2 bike for a while and i only found RevZilla by looking for yzf-r3 reviews. I'm damned impressed, just found my next youtube binge content.
I'm pretty stoked... I feel as though there's been a gap for high production quality media for motorcycles on RUclips and if revzilla is expanding out from their in store product reviews... That can only be a good thing! Just a shame I live across the Atlantic... :P
I love how the R3 has a 321cc engine and the CBR300 is a 286cc engine.. 35cc's is a BIG difference on bikes these small, I bet Honda is banging their heads.. Haha, probably not because Honda has never been about peak hp #'s, but im sure the Yamaha revs to the moon in typical Yamaha fashion.
i ride cbr300r and r3 both extensively. honda to me has better craftmanship and overall performance. after riding the honda i can clearly tell r3 has less responsive and linear brakes, less traction tyres, and overall just feels more slippery. r3 has 10 more hp, which looks great on paper as a selling point, where honda put their money on excellent brakes, balanced design, and tighter bolts and nuts, and its 1000 dollars cheaper. r3 is faster on the straight, but in twisty roads honda is as fast and feels a lot more in control. i can hit 180 on r3 and 175 on honda. r3 is good for money, cbr300r is excellent for money (got mine for $3999+tax CND).
I had the pleasure of breaking in a 2013 Ninja 300. They finally have all the kinks worked out for the 2015 and here goes Yamaha. Awesome!!! I'm very glad they didn't use those fugly FZ6R pegs and even more glad they put some true sportbike handlebars on this. This bike is very good looking and the extra 20CCs will likely be noticeable over the Ninja 300. The one thing that was awesome on the 300 is that sweet spot between 7K and 10K on the RPMs. It be nice if the entire powerband was as sweet. I wonder if the R3 achieved that.
I just got this bike. As a new rider. A short rider might I add. I have to get a lowering kit before I can use it but this video makes me so anxious to get on it
I sat on the R3 at Bike week. Compared to my Ninja 300, I don't really like the R3. It feels smaller, suspension is very soft, and the plastics looked cheap. To be fair, I just wanna see someone bring one to Jennings May 30-31. Wanna see how it does
Nice vid guys, very well done. Too bad about those bias-ply tires, but it's probably gonna be a first upgrade for a lot of people. I run Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tires on the Ninja 300 (stock sizes) and I love 'em. It's also less rotating mass (by 3.1 lbs.) and they heat up a lot more quickly, with more outright grip. No slipper clutch either for the R3, but it looks like a strong contender for the Ninja 300. Can't wait till I can do my own review of this. I had to throw some clip-ons on the 300 to like it in the twisties...so I am really wondering how the stock riding-position is with the R3.
I think yamaha has got a winner on their hands... 321cc twin that is lighter and more powerfull than the ninja 300.. Ok no ABS might be a downer.. but we managed without ABS for many years without complaining..
I finally got my black R3 from Mountain Motorsport Kennesaw, Ga at 2:00 and set out to start the break in. As expected, it was crap for the first 30 minutes until the engine began to loosen. I rode 80 miles and happy with the suspension and power, but those horrible bias tires will be replace next week when the Marietta Store gets them in. It seemed like every 10 minutes the bike improved, but it doesn't like to turn right as much as the left, even with pressure on the clip on and hanging over more. That should improve as everything wears in. I must say, I don't miss the big Triumph 955i, because this bike is almost as long, just not as high or heavy. The acceleration is wonderful, but I didn't push it over 9000 RPM for more than a second. On the interstate, I constantly switched between 5th and 6th gear to stop any droning. Did I say it hauls, because it does. It's easy to lift the front wheel in the first four gears, and really, I only used 6th gear to mix the rpm. It is truly a bike overdrive and not as usable as I hoped, but that should get better with time.
Chase Jasper Down Well, be sure to eat your Wheaties! Then, make sure you have perfectly coiffed hair and beard while simultaneously looking slightly disheveled but in a nonchalant, devil-may-care way. Finally, when you think you're ready, there's always www.revzilla.com/jobs BOOM! -DrewZilla

Sorry it me so long to reply, I LOVE this bike!! I have 300 miles on it so far and it's a blast to ride!! plenty of power to be fun but so much it scares the crap out of me, lol. It just feels like a dirt bike also, I mean really light!! Awesome bike!!
Gurus Kansas No I haven't I have heard some negative comments on the brakes on these but they seem pretty good to me. I don't ride in the rain either though so that would be a consideration if you do. Keep in mind the cbr300r is down about 10 horsepower from the R3, the R3 seems plenty powerful but if you drop almost 1/3 of the power I don't think I would like it near as much as I do.
I've been looking at what should be my first bike, (26yr old barely received my permit from the DMV lol) and I think this might be it. Have been thinking about the Honda CBR250R, Ninja 250R and this.. Heavily falling for this right now.
In the video at one minute and eleven seconds Sean says the R3 is powered by a 326cc engine, its actually a 321cc engine. I know... 5cc difference, but I just think viewers want the exact specs.
VillainMachines319 Thanks for the feedback! Yep, we caught that too. Sean was just sooo excited to be riding it! Anyway, it's corrected in the article. Have a good one! -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/common-tread/2015-yamaha-yzf-r3-first-ride
Hey RevZilla I Love your Videos never knew before that you review bikes too. Keep up the Good Work Guys!! P.S. Please Review KTM Duke 200 and 390... plz plz plz plz plz
Amazing review, how tall and heavy you are? im looking for the bike but i don't wanna look to big on that, i hear people saying its a bit smaller. I'm 6'5", 210pounds.
I wanna get one of these as a second bike, but I'm worried it won't be much of an upgrade from my 2001 ninja 250. I've sat on one, and I absolutely love how it feels and looks from the cockpit, but I want to know how well it rides first hand and see if it would really satisfy my desire for a little more acceleration and power
Excellent video review! Well done! Appreciated the clear audio. Looks like Yamaha has a hit on their hands, though I'm waiting to hear how the RC390 performs. Comparing them side to side at the bike show last year, I preferred the KTMs overall look, fit, and feel, but the R3 certainly is the business. Drop some Gold Valves in the forks, a good quality aftermarket shock on the back, and a set of Q3s and it would be a blast on a tight track.
This bike built in Indonesia. A guy pull r Mt-25 (the smaller and naked version of r3) into 166 kph. A turkey guy pull r-25 ( full fairing version of mt-25) into 194 kph. I think r3 a way much faster than r-25
hey guys, awesome video. do more videos of motorcycle reviews. and it would be great if you mention what gear you using in the test. thanx and keep it up!!)))
+Eko Reale Since the release of this R3 review, we have started to include the gear. For example, see our Indian Scout and Triumph Tiger reviews. :D -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/common-tread/2015-indian-scout-review *www.revzilla.com/common-tread/triumph-tiger-800-xcx-review
I would LOVE an R3 naked from Yamaha (MT-03?) I really like the style of the dashboard and maybe the sound is a little better than the Ninja 300, but I'll have to go with a Z300 since it has no competitors at the moment (not considering the Honda cb300f and KTM 390 Duke, both of which are single cylinders :/ ).
So bikes like these are designed for the European and Asian markets where there are restrictions on bike lisencing (Europe) and taxing (Asia). So I have to say it suprises me that these small capacity bikes like this and the Ninja 300 are so popular in the USA where there is no restriction, especially given that when it comes to cars the US seems to be all about having has big an engine as possible.
Launched in India today for 5500 dollars out the door. Not bad but the KTM Duke 390 sells for 3500 since its manufactured in India itself. Sorry Yamaha, you fail.
Maybe it's only in Portugal but this is selling for €5.695 (ABS version) and the MT-07 for €6.495 (also the ABS version). Crazy... They'll be lucky if they sell 1...
Ricardo Lourizela mt 07 (or fz 07, same bike I guess) has 689 cc. Compared to 321 for r3. R3 can go from 0 to 100 in 6 seconds. I bet fz 07 can do it in half of that time. Fz 07 has a great gas mileage as well. I think for only 1k difference, it's worth getting a mt-07 instead.
Nice video, I really want this bike haha. That road looks like a real nice ride we got plenty like it here in nz lucky for us :). I'm getting mine at the end of year haha.
So Sean MacDonald was here before he went to Hell for Leather which then became RideApart later moving to his own online blog prior to working with Cycle World which is now on the down turn leaving him as a free agent again ?
Hipsterrsswaggg Have you had a chance to hit a track day with it? I've been running my '06 ZX6R for a few years and can't keep a smile off my face. I tried the1000cc bikes, but I'm not a fan of the additional weight. The 1000cc power is addicting, though. Have a great weekend! -HVB
RevZilla well right now i have my sights on a '09 R1, my '04 gsxr 600 believe it or not is only 20ish pounds lighter than the R1! I can deal with that weight difference! Lol but unfortunatly i dont live near a track so no i havent been able to fully unleash the power of my 600.
Awesome review as always. Just one thing though. The tyres are half nice. But what would make this bike the class leader is the front suspension. . They should have added WP or any other upside down front suspension would have been great... Thanks.
Allan Francis Xavier I assume Yamaha wouldn't have been able to meet their pricepoint if they upgraded the suspension. I agree, though, it'd be awesome to see a bunch of upgrades! -DrewZilla
Well, this review was a bit biased towards the track; most people would use this small bike to commute, preferring tires with longer tread life than a softer, sportier tire.
im taking my 2015 R3 with stock tires , what tyre pressure would you recommend for track, im anxious as its my first track day and i want my tyre to grip well.
Each track and daily conditions are different. When you arrive, ask one of the track day organization staff or coaches what they recommend for the day.
Love the look of this bike. Is it really a great entry level bike compared to Honda's and Kawasaki's 300? If it doesn't have ABS I would imagine its not as safe as the other 2.
+Nick Plaminek They offer it with ABS outside the US, but here in the US, having ABS on the Honda and Kawasaki give them an edge for safety. Even without ABS, though, we still consider the R3 a great bike. -DrewZilla
i just got my a2 license and i always thought i was going to buy a cbr500r but now i have seen this bike don't know for sure anymore. i definitely like the look of the Yamaha more, but the CBR has just a more big bike feel to it with its's 160 rear tire and stuff. and then there is the ktm rc390 witch the little boy in me want's to have. guess the ninja 300 would be the boring middle choice. greeting from holland!
Awesome video! I have a quick question.. Between the cbr300r and the r3, which would you say is easier to shift? As in, physically, which takes less force with the shift lever? I have a used rebel 250 and feel like I have to practically stomp on the shift lever to get anywhere.. am upgrading to either the cbr300r or r3 very soon! Also, do you think with it being 2016 now that the 2015 bike prices will drop? When do the bike prices usually drop, or is it random? Thanks for your time!
zac mcewen in the US we just had to wait till the 2017 version to be able to get it. It's nice for new riders, but for the rest of us it wasn't a huge deal, but it was a silly thing not to have on a bike that many would be getting as their first bike.
No ABS?? What you should say is Yamaha decided not to make it available in the USA. Now if you're in Britain, ABS is fitted as standard equipment. Now why do you think that is? Either they think we are superior riders and don't need ABS or they think we are inferior riders and shouldn't be trusted with it. I really think it's about cost, and they wanted to provide the twin at a cost lower than the Ninja 300. Personally, I don't care whether it has it or not. It stops smoothly and quickly, and that's all I care about.
D. Paul League Or probably because it has become law that all motorcycles must be fitted with ABS by 2016 in Europe. I wonder if that bill ever passed there. Last I checked it was a landslide in favor of that. Our laws just don't enforce it here in America and Most people want to save some coin and not pay for ABS. Adding ABS to all units is better financially to Manufacturers as now they don't have to make separate units.
No, its a plus just don't do things like tailgate and you should be fine. I've been riding for over 10 years and never had a ABS bike. Lastly, if you're new to riding run that yellow or red to avoid sudden or hard braking cause you are not too used to hard braking.
I am 15 now, I am able to get my L's in 18 months. I am stuck between a Ninja 300 or a Yamaha r3. I have never ridden a motorbike before but I have been on my dad's CBR600 as a pillion many times. I wanted a 600 but I am afraid that will be too much, although I don't want to outgrow a 300 after 6 months or something and have to upgrade (money is an issue for me) Also, I am 5'11" and 150 pounds. Could some people help me out, I have plenty of time to decide but want to get on top of it! Cheers :)
+Caserati A 600 will very likely be too much to start on. Modern 300s are very capable bikes, so you won't outgrow one in six months. It's also very likely that you'll learn faster on a 300, as it's easier to control. If you're concerned about outgrowing a bike too quickly, buy a used bike and sell it in a year or two for about the same as you bought it. -DrewZilla
Gary R Wood Sr R3 is a better bike and I would way prefer that over the Ninja, no doubt about that. The Ninja is also $2000 cheaper though and as I will only be using it for like 6-12 months it isn't worth losing all that extra money on the R3. I will just have to see how much they are going for when I buy one though.
+Caserati , I have rode since 14 yrs old. I am 60, and have had 800cc and bigger bikes. my next one will be the r3. top speed is 112, that's fast enuff for me. please check you tube, 300cc shoot out. you will probably keep the bike a lot longer. unless you want to go faster than the law allows! and that can be INSTANT DEATH!!! Where in USA can you safely run over 100 mph??? just concerned, take a test ride on the r3. I think you will love it. take mom or dad with you tho. 112 m.p.h. 11,500 rpm!! it is an awesome bike!!! nada says $4,195

Agreed. And it didn't sound like an advertisement, like a few other videos I've watched on this bike.
People dislike just to dislike...
See life on the bright side, 94% liked it, its not bad is it?
sadly I disliked because of the sound.
Because the audio is awful, besides his voice.
According to the Yamaha Australia website, all R3's sold in Australia will come with ABS as standard.

You put some of the other motorcycle review magazines to shame with the quality of this video. Some of the others could learn a thing or two.
Another honest review by Revzilla. Thank You for a solid critique.
Finally a good solid review on one of these.

Yamaha has been hitting home runners in terms of making bikes, so I expect this one to be a gem too. At least this one had better tired than the N300.
***** The R6 has been great for so long, and now we have the new R1 and this new R3, not to mention the FZ/MT-09 and -07 as well as the FJ-09! Incredible! How do I choose? Guess I need them all haha! -DrewZilla
I got my motorcycle license last june of 2014. I'm glad I waited. I'll prolly get this around Christmas when it's off season.
Over here in NYC, negotiated an OTD of $5500. I'll be picking up my R3 within the week
been looking for an A2 bike for a while and i only found RevZilla by looking for yzf-r3 reviews. I'm damned impressed, just found my next youtube binge content.
Thanks! Let me know when you've watched all 6,000+ videos on our channel haha! -DrewZilla
I feel like i've been issued a challenge now haha
Yamaha really kicks ass at everything they do.
Great review guys!!! Just as professional as the magazine reviews!
I wonder if there will be an FZ-03? The naked version of R3?
Cadd It exists in Europe.
I'm pretty stoked... I feel as though there's been a gap for high production quality media for motorcycles on RUclips and if revzilla is expanding out from their in store product reviews... That can only be a good thing!
Just a shame I live across the Atlantic... :P
Lachlan Williams You'll just have to come visit! -DrewZilla
this video was sick. I'm getting my license in the beginning of june and hope to get this bike after.
Want one even more now!! Thx RevZilla for being awesome!
Fantastic review - all aspects were very solid. Thank you RevZilla.
Not only that it has an offset on crank shaft so it revs up faster than the ninja 300
i ride cbr300r and r3 both extensively. honda to me has better craftmanship and overall performance. after riding the honda i can clearly tell r3 has less responsive and linear brakes, less traction tyres, and overall just feels more slippery. r3 has 10 more hp, which looks great on paper as a selling point, where honda put their money on excellent brakes, balanced design, and tighter bolts and nuts, and its 1000 dollars cheaper. r3 is faster on the straight, but in twisty roads honda is as fast and feels a lot more in control. i can hit 180 on r3 and 175 on honda. r3 is good for money, cbr300r is excellent for money (got mine for $3999+tax CND).
The best review by far! Great photography, great sound, Thank you Revzilla!
Goalier95 You're welcome! Thanks for the feedback! -DrewZilla
So stoked I cant wait to get this bike!!! thanks for the review!
Glad I finally got to see a review thats not from Asia. Great job and thanks for not trying to market the bike but being honest.
I wonder if the R3 achieved that.
crazy how he said 5000$ and right now i’m about to buy mine for 2500 and looks 10x better than the 19 year
I just got this bike.
I want to see an R3 and Ninja comparison so badly too.
***** Check C2W's first ride on it. But as for the riding-position, he says its more upright than you'd normally be.
Shihab Jiddawi
Yeah I watched it. It was a good review. I hope to do my own comparo soon!
I like the well-roundedness of this bike, but I also love thumpers and the CBR300 is making this decision very tough. I need to ride both.
bring back the inline4 !!!
That was an awesome review! How do I get a job like that? Or even just part of the camera crew?!?!?!
-DrewZilla
LMAO! Got the breakfast (shredded wheat), beard (fake), Devilish grin like I tied a distressed woman to a railroad track (didn't actually do that), and now applying for the fun! Hahahaha! Great 80's montage by the way!!!
Chase Jasper Down Everybody needs a montage! -DrewZilla
RevZilla Are you guys only located in Las Vegas and Philly?
I'm pretty sure their main office is in Philly and their distributing is in Vegas, but I could be wrong.
This will be mu first bike. Getting the blue one.
Tony_Tr3 I bought mine a week ago and I love it!! I also picked the Factory team colors...
+Jack Allen hey how you liking the bike? I hope to get one soon too
Sorry it me so long to reply, I LOVE this bike!! I have 300 miles on it so far and it's a blast to ride!! plenty of power to be fun but so much it scares the crap out of me, lol. It just feels like a dirt bike also, I mean really light!! Awesome bike!!
+Jack Allen have you been in any situations where you would need ABS? because I'm trying to decide between the cbr300r and the Yamaha
No ABS? Well over here in Germany you can only buy a slightly more expensive version that has ABS.
lifehacker123 freedom
I'm currently saving up to get one of the 2018 models at the end of 2018/start of 2019. Looks like it'll be a fun one to start on.
What an amazing machine!!! beautifull design, looks like a bigger bike, like a 500 ou 600. Hope it to come to Brazil.
@Prem- yup, the R3 abs model does exist in other countries.
For sure my next bike!
Great vídeo, could you make a review of the ktm rc 390?
MrMonoAudiofilo When it comes out in the US, maybe we will! -DrewZilla
Hoping to get a nice 2nd hand of this bike in a few years!
I just bought one with 4.5k miles all service paperwork included for 2.7k
In the video at one minute and eleven seconds Sean says the R3 is powered by a 326cc engine, its actually a 321cc engine. I know... 5cc difference, but I just think viewers want the exact specs.
VillainMachines319 Thanks for the feedback! Yep, we caught that too. Sean was just sooo excited to be riding it! Anyway, it's corrected in the article. Have a good one! -DrewZilla

Drop some Gold Valves in the forks, a good quality aftermarket shock on the back, and a set of Q3s and it would be a blast on a tight track.
orangelion03 I'm sure many will make those exact upgrades! -DrewZilla
orangelion03 What do you mean with Q3s?
Q3 is a high performance tire from dunlop.
Buying a used r3 as my 1st bike later this year. Wish me luck!
Best luck brother do share your experience
This bike built in Indonesia. A guy pull r
Mt-25 (the smaller and naked version of r3) into 166 kph. A turkey guy pull r-25 ( full fairing version of mt-25) into 194 kph. I think r3 a way much faster than r-25
Incredible audio! 👌🏻🤯
Great job on the review sir.. In your opinion, which one is better for city riding? N300 or r3
hey guys, awesome video. do more videos of motorcycle reviews. and it would be great if you mention what gear you using in the test.
thanx and keep it up!!)))
+Eko Reale Since the release of this R3 review, we have started to include the gear. For example, see our Indian Scout and Triumph Tiger reviews. :D -DrewZilla

I also demand a "naked r3"
MGOniciuffo It exists, in Europe.
Rick Clines Link please
+SNwhy search up 2016 mt03 it's already out.
*a year later... not in the states...
So bikes like these are designed for the European and Asian markets where there are restrictions on bike lisencing (Europe) and taxing (Asia). So I have to say it suprises me that these small capacity bikes like this and the Ninja 300 are so popular in the USA where there is no restriction, especially given that when it comes to cars the US seems to be all about having has big an engine as possible.
mopman94 american consumers are getting smarter, it seems
mopman94 They're also more affordable! -DrewZilla
Mudux It seems you're right! :-) -DrewZilla
My two biggest reasons for owning a 300 are my $35 monthly insurance and great gas mileage.
Great review!!
Ricardo Lourizela in vietnam the r25 is $10000usd.
In canada its $5000 Canadian.
Troy Nguyen $4,835 out the door Thailand I WANT a red ONE. -:)
Ricardo Lourizela In Norway the 2015 R3 sells for €8800ish ($9550 ish)... And a factory-new MT-07 goes for €10,700 ($11,600 ish)...
Just got a 04 gsxr 600 and a couple months later im ALREADY bored of the power, i couldbt imagine getting one of these although i did consider it.
I plan on getting this bike for my first bike..
-DrewZilla
Well, this review was a bit biased towards the track; most people would use this small bike to commute, preferring tires with longer tread life than a softer, sportier tire.
well done revzilla, very great review but i please i want to download your app and i can't find it
Qais Alehremi We don't have OS-specific apps right now, though we may in the future. We're working to optimize our mobile site. -DrewZilla
Awesome review and comments. thank you.
im taking my 2015 R3 with stock tires , what tyre pressure would you recommend for track, im anxious as its my first track day and i want my tyre to grip well.
Each track and daily conditions are different. When you arrive, ask one of the track day organization staff or coaches what they recommend for the day.
loved your review!
-DrewZilla
the insurance is way more expensive for this bike compared to its competition
does it vary state to state?
QuavyGames it must vary from state to state cuz for me it was $11 and the most i heard from family and friends was $36
i just got my a2 license and i always thought i was going to buy a cbr500r
but now i have seen this bike don't know for sure anymore. i definitely like the
look of the Yamaha more, but the CBR has just a more big bike feel to it with its's 160 rear tire and stuff.
and then there is the ktm rc390 witch the little boy in me want's to have. guess the ninja 300 would be the boring middle choice. greeting from holland!
Great revieuw!
Great review. Looks like a fun bike.
ILL GET ONE NEXT YEAR CANT WAIT!!! 2016!!! January
you ever get one
+Jonathan Bauer yea m8
Awesome video! I have a quick question.. Between the cbr300r and the r3, which would you say is easier to shift? As in, physically, which takes less force with the shift lever? I have a used rebel 250 and feel like I have to practically stomp on the shift lever to get anywhere.. am upgrading to either the cbr300r or r3 very soon! Also, do you think with it being 2016 now that the 2015 bike prices will drop? When do the bike prices usually drop, or is it random? Thanks for your time!
+R23 Both have light shifting, so I'd recommend sitting on both at dealers to see how the shift levers feel. -DrewZilla
I have a 2016 R3 with ABS. I live in Brazil, and here the ABS is optional.
Brazil isn't that cuntry dangerous with robbery. be careful stay vigilant and carry a gun at all times
I have the 2015 model here in Australia and it most certainly has ABS too.
zac mcewen in the US we just had to wait till the 2017 version to be able to get it. It's nice for new riders, but for the rest of us it wasn't a huge deal, but it was a silly thing not to have on a bike that many would be getting as their first bike.
Great Review!
I knew this bike would be good. I want one, but I think I want an RC390 more. A bit more character I predict, and more power.
Just got myself a yamaha yzf-r25. How much different it is from this tho aside from the cc
Nadzmi Mohd We don't get the R25 in the US, so we can't really compare it. -DrewZilla
For someone looking for their first bike (as a college commuter)
Is ABS a necessity or highly recommended ?
No, its a plus just don't do things like tailgate and you should be fine. I've been riding for over 10 years and never had a ABS bike. Lastly, if you're new to riding run that yellow or red to avoid sudden or hard braking cause you are not too used to hard braking.
Hey, Cj Mullane! Spurgeon knocked-out a video for you to help explain his recommendations. -HVB

I am 15 now, I am able to get my L's in 18 months.
I am stuck between a Ninja 300 or a Yamaha r3. I have never ridden a motorbike before but I have been on my dad's CBR600 as a pillion many times. I wanted a 600 but I am afraid that will be too much, although I don't want to outgrow a 300 after 6 months or something and have to upgrade (money is an issue for me)
Also, I am 5'11" and 150 pounds.
-DrewZilla
RevZilla Really appreciate the reply! I think I will get a Ninja 300 and sell that after a season or two and then get a 600 if I feel ready. :)
You need to look at the tests on all 300cc yamaha yzfr3 comes out on top, ninjas 4th, just sugesting
+Caserati ,
I have rode since 14 yrs old.
I think Lemmy does a lot better job at these motorcycle reviews
