Thank you for such a detailed video of the hair. I’ve seen many crochet butterfly locs with the same loop problem but I never saw the mesh.
I really appreciate your review. I didn’t see it until after I had already purchased and installed them. I was looking to see if it was just me that had such a difficult experience. I agree with everything you said and then some. It was very difficult and time consuming to crochet due to the small loop and the large loc. Also the locs are rather heavy on my head. I tried to achieve the same bob look you described (short in the back and long in the front but the pieces are so long that it really doesn’t look like that at all. I was planning on cutting them in order to achieve the look because that is REALLY what I was going for but I luckily I saw your video and realized that that also would not work because of the pipe inside them (thank you for sharing that information!). It’s also really uncomfortable to sleep on because it’s so thick. The hair really is beautiful but it’s just not what I want. I just completed it 2 days ago and really want to take it down already but I’m going out of town tomorrow and just don’t have time to re-do my hair. I just have to deal with it until I get back home. I really do appreciate your review. It confirmed I was crazy 🤪. Thank you 😃
Everything you said it's the same way I feel, this was not a pleasant experience to say the least I'm going on day 3 of wearing it it looks like a big mop it is not uncomfortable to sleep with, the struggle is pulling it back so I can take a shower.
It was some bumps in the road but you mastered it. So kuddos to you because the final look is beautiful and your makeup really set it off.
I really wish I would have seen this before I bought like 4 different kinds of locs from this brand lol 😩🥴🤣 none of the others are this honest about the difficult installation.

I think the background looks great with or without the vines.
A little advice (if I may) don't ask people to much about what they think looks great or not. People will start to think they can give you an opinion about everything. Just do what works best for you.

I love the look but I definitely understand the installation process. I had some skinny ones from a vendor or Amazon and had a similar dilemma. I love the look on you. The 12 inch ones by Niseyo worked best and I was able to twist the look to install and it was easier. You look gorgeous with them. Tfs

I am installing individual poetry butterfly locs.
Don't know how long it will take me.
Definitely have to loosen the loop and carefully pull the loc through the loop.
If possible I will have to try and find someone to install for me after I braid.
I stopped by an African braiding shop, they told me they would charge me $160.00 lol. Told them thank you, and walked out respectful.
If someone else is installing them for you it's much easier.
Im just grateful I have the time and the talent to do my own hair.

Thank you for the honest review. I purchased some Lulutress butterfly locs. I unsuccessfully tried to install a loc but I could not pull it through the loop. Granted it is a different brand but the result is very similar. Fingers crossed for the final install. You're right it should not be that difficult to install a crochet style!

That’s good feedback!! I thought it was just me because other RUclipsrs gave it a big thumps up. I just did this last night for my 14year daughter. She has her 8th grade dance tomorrow. I’m indifferent about this product.
My "struggle locs" brought me here. I had to see if I was doing something wrong...I purchased the Freetress brand of butterfly locs. My hair is shaved on the sides and in the back, so I only have the top portion to braid. I didn't want too much space, so I did 5 cornrows instead of 4. I couldn't even get the locs under my braids! It unraveled as I pulled the loop through because the first bump is so large it won't slide without force. I gave up. I'm stuck with 4 packs of this mess. 😫 I'm a working mom, nursing a 2 month old newborn. Crochet styles are my go to right now. I return from maternity leave Monday and THOUGHT this would be a quick style to get me through the first few weeks back at work. I was so wrong! Now it's 7 am Sunday, I'm sitting with theses 5 braids sewn down on my head, about to rummage though my stack of hair and pull out some other crochet hair to install. I'm so disappointed.😞 Bless you for your determination! It looks beautiful!!!! After 5 unraveled locs, I was done.

I want to commend you for taking the time to make this video, everything that you spoke about is true, I spent all this money and I was not happy at the end and it did not look like the girl in the package and I had it installed professionally. I will not be doing this again, and yes it doesn't seem they took the time to test it out.

Just now installing this hair and I wished I seen this video before I bought this hair. It was a waste of money and you were absolutely right about the install process. Now I'm pissed and have to be at work in a few hours and this is taking over 20 minutes to get 2 pieces in and I want to scream more 🤬😤😡
The loops were the worst part when I first installed them. My fingers were sore. A couple of them were practically unusable but I powered through & got them in. It looked great. Made sure ish worked for $21.99 a pack. I'm about to do it again as individual crochet locs, cuz I clearly like to torture myself.

Back with an update: I installed this hair as individuals this time. Idk if they listened to the many complaints people had and made the loops easier to stretch, or if it was because I was working with a plait instead of cornrows, but it went much easier this time. Also, as an observation, cuz I used 1b & burgundy, and the burgundy locs seem to be a lot neater looking & have better loops.
All in all? Pretty happy with how they turned out & glad I didn't have to fight with the hair this time. The first time left me with extremely sore fingertips. This time? Way easier.

Thank you sooooo much for your honest review! I just wanted to know how many packs I needed before purchasing but after watching this and another video I'm not sure if I want the same struggle. It looks fabulous on you but as you stated, it shouldn't take that long to install a crochet style. I purchased two packs of the Bobbi Boss 18" Cali Butterfly Locs but I'm not ready to install them. Have you tried that brand? Also, your background looks lovely...I'm a plant mom.

@@ConversationswithCandace I did it! Thankful that I went in mentally prepared. I didn’t like the inconsistency of the loop sizes because it made it difficult to pull the hair through without it getting caught. In the end, I love the look and have gotten lots of compliments.

I wish I had seen this before I purchased this product. I will all so say that the 10,12 and 14 are not what is pictured on the photo unless they braided her hair up high or cut the loc.

Install too time consuming ..my customer couldn't return the hair I pulled loops from other area to install the hair 😟

Not only that them thangs itch like crazy! i ain't never had no synthetic hair that itched so bad! and you did bring it up but i saw you scratching and i'm laughing like yeah. Terrible. Now i see people wash them with vinegar and that's never been the case before.
