I'm a massive Fan of this wonderful and interesting Woman and her work. Her Solo projects are powerful and emotive but many assume she hangs around between Albums doing nothing !.....When will someone have the insight into gathering all her collaborative work. It's an endless list. People think all she did was 7 seconds but she's worked with so many diverse genres in music from Rip Rig & Panic in the early 80's, Michael Stipe and R.E.M. to Timo Maas, The Judds, Cher,Craig Armstrong, Chrissie Hynde,Eric Clapton... Jazz collaborations with CirKus she even appears on Gorillaz Album Demon Days...etc etc the list is mind blowing......All this embodiment of collaborative work should be made into a CD to honour one of Musics finest entertainers....Amen
She's not "Swedish-American". She's Swedish. She lived in the US for around 8 years, leaving when she was only 14 years old. To be fair, she's lived in the UK for almost 40 years - longer than she lived in Sweden and the US combined.
When you live somewhere long enough you pick up the accent. Born in Sweden, brought up in the US, moved to England as a teenager. Since then she's lived all over the world. She still sounds very American to my ear even now.
She says it in this interview, in that she’s a “little bit of everything”. So naturally her accent will be reflective of her multi cultural background. It’s pretty normal nowadays!
Neneh Cherry - a consummate artist. Love her and her music. ❤️

Crap music journalist, Neneh Cherry's musical journey is so rich, the lady has real gumption & complexity.
Wait a min, she was speaking with an American accent on the Arsenio Hall interview I just saw, what's going on?
She would switch accents accordingly
She's lived in the USA, Sweden, and England since she was a kid.
