Sir I have modelled a TEG with 64 couplings, the way you did, and the problem is that when I double the high potential voltage, the current also doubles. Shouldnt it be half the previous number according to "P=VxI" ? Thank you
Great Explanation ! But I have two questions the first one is: Is the 23.267 Watt that calculated at the hot side represents the output power from the Thermoelectric Generator ? if it is not, then how to calculate the generated power ? The second one: I make a TEG model in ANSYS FLUENT and calculate the temperature distribution around the two TEG sides, how can I calculate the output power from it ? Can I Import the CFD results in ANSYS FLUENT to the ANSYS Thermal-Electric? or there is another way to calculate the power from the FLUENT ?? Thank you

@@AnsysTutor I want to simulate what are value for cold side temperature and hot side temperature for the TEC, so what are the boundary conditions to be set?
Thank you for the video, how did you know the value of the high potential (0.08V)? And I want to know if I want to draw a TEG of small trapezoidal dimensions (big base = 6mm, small base = 3mm, height 8 mm and thickness 1mm) how i am supposed to do the simulation in order to know the voltage output, should I draw all the elements inside of it or can i consider it as an object and apply the temperature difference?
Thank you for this amazing tutorial please I have a problem when I click 'solve' an error message showed up "Your license configuration does not allow pure electric analysis necessary to use with defined material properties." what should I do ?
Take a look at your material properties in Engineering Data. To avoid this error message you should apply at least one thermal properties for the material. For example, thermal conductivity.
Dear sir, i made 18 thermocouples in total. What film coefficient of convection should i use? Because the geometry i selected still in yellow, does i include way to much for comvection?
Ansys-Tutor, I was asking about a tutorial on how to simulate plasma Spheroidization in radio frequency inductively coupled plasma (ICP). How to initiate magnetic field inside a reactor, that ionization of gas.
But i want to know meassure the open circuit voltage so i put 0v at one leg and meassure the voltage across both the n & p leg. But when i solve the simulation the overall progress bar is going in a loop.
@@mohamednazer8131 I don't know if u still need this but i made it like this : I put 0 V at the n leg and just put an electric voltage image in the solution. Just run this and click on electric voltage. The high potential is the one you are looking for.
Hi sir. When i try to solve the module (step @13.40), the percentage is still at 10% eventhough i have wait for more than an hour. Does this mean that my pc is underspec, or is it related to other problem? Btw, i'm new to this Ansys software. I hope anyone can help me. Thank you
Try to reset the setup and again do it. Is it the same geometry or it is a different one. Sometimes solution timing affected by the meshing. So check the meshing, make sure that its within the required limit. Dont create more unnecessary cells if its not required.
From the thermoelectric generator power law, the power produced from the thermoelectric generator is equal to the difference between the Heat absorbed at the hot side and heat rejected at the cold side, so if we need to calculate the power harvested from this TEG, we need to calculate the heat rejected at the cold side by insert Heat reaction probe and specify the cold junction and then apply this law (Heat Absorbed - Heat Rejected ) to get the power generated .. Is this correct ?
Dear sir kindly respond as soon as possible..... Or anyone else who can answer my question..... In this vedio we apply potential difference across the end of our generator....and we found current and heat absorbed and current flows in through it..... Can you explain that why we take potential difference across its ends bcz it's a generator so it should induced emf and current...........
sir i am doing research on waste heat recovery and i have selected ansys for the simulation. In this regard i need ur help sir. could u please send me ur email address so i can clear my doubts.
One of the best tutorials i have ever seen!
Thank you for the compliment.
can you make a video on transient simulation of a TEG device to monitor temperature and voltage data?
Hi sir, how to do transient thermo-electric analysis ....i can see only the steady state thermo-electric solver

Yes, that is the generated power. You can couple the fluent with the thermoelectric module & import the temperature load to get the output.
@@AnsysTutor How to do the coupling process ? I think that I must import FLUENT results to the Thermal-Electric ,,, but how to do this ??
Amazing tutorial 👏, I would like to ask, does this demonstration goes until to fluent solution or just stoped in meaning?
Thank you
Its a separate module ,no relationship with fluent ,if you want you can use the coupling technique to connect it with fluent .
Thank you, would like to also see kind of coupling, I’m new in ANSYS fluent
We have a FSI tutorial ,on ansys fluent and static structural coupling you can see that to get a knowledge about how coupling system works.
I'm guessing this is DC. Do you know if there's a way of using AC in the Thermal-Electric module?
Yes its DC. Sorry, as per my knowledge, you need Only DC power for such module.

You need to take the ansys fluent first into the project schematic , then take the thermoelectric and make a link with the fluent solutions.
sir can I ask if I want to simulate TEC, how should be the boundary condition setting be like? is the same?

Get aired
ANSYS TUTOR, do you have some tutorials on plasma ?
Please describe a little more about the problem, if possible will try to make a tutorial on it.
Ansys-Tutor, I was asking about a tutorial on how to simulate plasma Spheroidization in radio frequency inductively coupled plasma (ICP). How to initiate magnetic field inside a reactor, that ionization of gas.
What is the reason for giving high potential boundary condition?
It would create a potential difference between the semiconductor.
Sir how do we calculate this high potential ?
How to find the COP? how can I get released heat
How do i measure the Voltage with different temperature?
You can insert the voltage probe to see the voltage results.

The potential difference can be measured with a thermocouple, so the potential difference is a meausre for the temperature difference
