Man... I think Joe works in a week what I have done in all my life. Love to see your daily life! I live in a big city in a small apartment, same as my parents, so I never got to experience this "country living" or however you want to call it. Love your videos sir!
It looks great, Joe! Those bugs looked ferocious. Almost August now, duck season isn't that far away. You're going to be so happy you got that mowing done...
Joe, get some dryer fabric softener sheets, and place one on each side, tucked between the sweatband and your head, and they will keep the bugs away from your face, much better than insect spray. Learned this trick loading produce when I was trucking. Worked wonders.
Joe, thanks for showing the editing part of you tube. many people do not understand the time and effort it takes make a video. It's not just point and shoot, every aspect needs to be pr-set and then broken down and move on to the next. Then comes the hours of editing. Maybe someone should do a start to finish of what it take to do a 30 minute video. Absolutely love your channel, stay safe and looking forward to your next endeavor. Cheers Bill
Thank you Bill. A video like this one had almost 5 hours of video that was edited down to about a half hour. I enjoy making the "mess" into a watchable and hopefully entertaining video.
My Dad told me when he was at the house on Saturday, "there might not be much for deer, but I am really looking forward to deer hunting." I have to agree.
It amazes me how much stuff joe can juggle at one time I have been watching his channel for a long time and he has always had projects going on but he has so much stuff going on with getting them cows and getting the pasture set up I would love to see a video where he spends at least a weekend at the tent just to get some recreational work done
That was a lot of mowing. I had no idea that road had to have that much work done to it. I always enjoy seeing the tent, no matter how short the video is. That is such a great retreat to own.
I enjoy mowing the grass up to our cabin, . When I go up this week I have to to just what you did, mow the 1/4 mile driveway and trim back the brush that either came own last winter or just grew up. The township does a pretty good job keeping the road mowed but I like to widen it out some to make room for parking if needed. Sometime this summer I will also need to mow the trails in the woods. But as my wife puts it "you are retired so you have no excuses not to get it done!"
Watched every video u have made , enjoyable to bad u can’t get a tractor with a bucket a mover and a back blade. I keep my plow on my Atv and use it to push Back the brush and grate the gravel . Take care looking forward to the next video.
TY for the video. Well done. You are a hard worker using a manual saw blade for those tree saplings. I would have taken out my chainsaw blade attachment for my weed trimmer. It eats that stuff in seconds. But I do understand the simplicity / benefits of the effort.
Another Great video Joe. Hey don't forget some hearing protection when mowing so you can hear those deer walking this season. Lol. Love your stuff buddy!!
I’m in Chapin SC. The humidity here is legendary. I lived in Corpus Christi Texas and 100 +++ days are normal. Yeah thats hot but Its not the same as Chapin. And a shout out to our coast people and the ‘no see ums’. (biting midgs) No place more miserable then crabbing on a salt water creek with no wind and these guys show up..
Any day at the tent is a good day. Love the video Joe. Thinking that leaving that strip in the front uncut is going cost you neighborhood yard of the month 😂
Holy crap, how long is the driveway?? I just assumed it was shorter than that.. I guess with all them trees and bushes I don't see where you turn into the driveway from the road to the Tent..Well it was an interesting video, thanks for sharing. As always stay safe and have a great day.🤓👍🤓👍.Randy.
Always been kind of Zen, one with nature thing for me clearing brush in the UP or mowing grass. Very therapeutic. No one trying to sell me anything, no one asking me stupid questions, exhausted yet relaxed at the end of the job. Or is that just me ?
Another comment from the old peanut gallery… I wish there was more tent videos, lol I discovered Joe’s channel about 5or 6 years ago and watch the videos over and over. I do like the new stuff too. Don’t get me wrong. I get it. He’s super busy but man if I had some of that land, I think it would be hard to not be up there every weekend.
I wonder if you could get someone with a forestry mulcher to just make a pass either side the driveway to wide things out and buy you a couple seasons before it grows in so much
Get a Plastic Dragon fly and put on your Hat.Just got one !My buddies swear by them.Deer fly and horse flys are what dragon flys eat .Haven't been bitten since I put it on my hat.Dam deer flys will bight right through a bug jacket
Ticks are pretty much just here in the spring, I have not had one on me in at least 2 months. They are just ticks, not a big deal. If you get the bullseye bruise, you go to the Dr, otherwise, you are fine.
Because if one breaks down at the house, I need the other to finish mowing. Up at The Tent, I mow once or twice a year. At the house it gets mowed every week.
Joe you work so hard do you need to take a day for yourself go fishing go relax play cat looks awesome you did a good job cutting the grass trimming trees
Joe, Wouldn't one of those brush blades for a string trimmer be faster and less work, you could also use it to blaze your trails back to your deer watches.
What is the cost of crushed fine recycled concrete for your sloppy wholes in your road, it really works good after a few rains or snow it sets up tighter than a drum, just curios? Thumbs Up Guys!!!...
To get recycle up there they would be delivering from a hundred miles away. I could get gravel but only for the Tent driveway, the road to the driveway is miles long and not something I would maintain, it is National Forest property until you turn on the driveway. There are 4 holes that need to be filled on the Tent driveway and they really do need to be fixed.
I am not, what you saw me clearing was the Tent driveway. The road before that is supposedly maintained by the National forest service but if trees are down it might take them a month to get there so I always just cut them myself. I am not going to wait to go to the Tent when I have several chainsaws.
I have traveled through Fairbanks many times. Lots of deer along that whole area from Mackinac through Fairbanks. Have the wolves had an affect on the deer herd in that area? One time driving to The Tent I took 16 over and from 53 through Fairbanks, I counted 110 deer along that drive in the ditches. It was right after they redid that road so it was years ago and the fresh planted grass in the ditches is what they were out for.
Surprisingly enough I have a brain and use it. I dont need to watch the product videos, so i just dont watch them. Easy peasy, i always like any I watch, so know which ones ive seen.
Joe you cannot stack bales of hay alfalfa with a three-point hitch bail spear you need one for the front of the loader. You need to get yourself a real brush hog. And you definitely need a haircut lol
Deer flies are the worst.
Always good to see you up at the tent.

Thank you Joe for showing some Hollywood magic. It takes alot of work to make these videos. From repositioning the camera to editing. Good job.

Good Lad. Enjoyed, sitting on a Sunday, and watch someone working. Lot of work in short time again. Thanks for sharing.
I really love your channel. One thing I really like are your long videos. Unlike most people only have 20-25 min, Thank you.
The cabin brings me peace to see. Missed the vids.
thanks for sharing Joe.

Good to see a cabin video. Not to rush time, but before you know it hunting season will be here.

My Dad told me when he was at the house on Saturday, "there might not be much for deer, but I am really looking forward to deer hunting." I have to agree.
Couple weeks we are going to have to call you farmer joe.
34 days until the "cows come home." Lol.

This man wearing jeans, long sleeves and a toboggan. In my world it's 98° with 90% humidity. It must be nice up there
Joe wears his long jonhs until June 1st. Lol.
He did that because of the insects. It wwas about 70 or higher I think.
I never wear anything else. Year around long sleeves and jeans.

Beatiful vídeo ❤
#scag #kubota Get this man a zero turn to review, i believe he would use it. Thanks Joe. I did the same here this weekend
Hope that grass you left uncut doesnt keep you up at night, it would me...thats what nightmares are made of haha! Enjoy all your videos!
Joe, you need a hat that has the net attached to it....but Husband used his when he mowed lawn, so did my Grandson.
i find it so complete to see the grass all nice and cut
You have a Gorgeous Plot so freaking Neat! Worth It all, Thanks!... I have one in Gods Country and hope too clean it up soon, Wellsboro, Pa...
Nice Load Securement!.... That's what she said!!!🤠🤠🤠
You could use a gas trimmer but replace the string with one of those stainless blades. It would take that brush right out. Glad you survived the bugs!
BUGS! Horrible, Joe that's an understatement!
i think when you cut back all the vegitation it helps with all the bugs for sure i really love the fogger

Because I could care less that stuff like that gets trimmed. Who is going to see it? Just people watching the videos. Lol.
You did a nice job how long is your driveway

Joe,Been watching you guys for a while now and was wondering if you have any plans to build a cabin and when?? Great vids always.

Nice video. Do you plan to build a cabin there on the lake.lot someday?
i was just up there a couple weeks ago, they were trying to crawl into every nook and cranny of our truck.....its ridiculous how bad the bugs are!
A great example of property maintenance. It's not all fun and fishing.

I hope you did a Tick check after all that woods and cutting work Joe....

@@JoeandZachSurvivalticks are not as big an issue as the media makes it seem. If you are careful and check regularly.
i would have to say this is the best job you did on the grass ever
When you got there, it said 62 degrees with 94% humidity. I could never handle the humidity, especially that much.
Didnt realize it took so much work keeping up the drive way. Awsome video
Just a question, Joe: during the summer months, why don't you just leave one of your mowers up at the Tent?
