    I transplant plants into clear plastic “iced coffee, Iced cappuccino” type cups I scrounge from recycle bins. This allows me to see when she has legs (roots). Of course I put drain holes in the bottom and recently the sides as well. If you use a knife to clearly cleave the two seedlings in one segment apart it might be a little better than just ripping them apart.

    These videos are very helpful. Last summer, I ordered some seeds of some of my favorite kinds of Asian chilis (that are impossible to find in the US) and I've been so anxious to get them started. It's been 2 weeks and almost all of them are growing like crazy! I've never successfully grown anything from seed to fruit, but then again I never really put a ton of effort into it. Doing it right this time!

    I truly enjoy all of your videos. As a new hot pepper grower I think the hardest decision I have to make is which plants I have to “snip.” It’s sad, really. You planted the seed, excited to see it sprout... then natural selection (with me playing the role of Mother Nature) happens.
    Are you going to do another planting series like this for the upcoming season?

      I transplant when the seedlings have at least 4-6 true leaves. I do plant multiple seeds together, but post-transplant, I don't grow more than one plant per pot. It will restrict growth of both plants.

    Hey Rob, so glad I subscribed, and really enjoy your videos. 2018 was my first year growing hot peppers, I live in Missouri, so I experience a nice long growing season. I grew Reapers, peach Ghost, and Chocolate Trinidad scorpions. I purchased these from a local nursery when they were about 5 to 6 inches tall. I had a very successful season so far, my Reaper plant is amazing and is still producing many pods as of Sept. 4th. Thanks to your videos, I will attempt to grow from seeds next season. I made hot sauce for the first time, and ended up with 12 full bottles, my friends love it and think I should sell some next year, lol. Don't know if I'am ready for market quite yet, but maybe someday. I dried and saved some seeds, but was wondering where you get your unique brands of seeds? Keep up the great videos

That said, I have a question regarding these 3.5" pots you're using. I made an order a short while back, and I accidentally ended up ordering 3", and not 3.5". Is the larger size a more mandatory thing, or can I use the 3" ones?

    • @7PotClub

      I'm sure the 3" pots will be fine. If you grow them in the pots for about 3 months like I do, just make sure they don't dry out, as the pots will be filled with roots.

    High my American friend Johan here from South Africa want to start farming with Hot Peppers
    1.) I want to buy Habineros from a Nursery I saw 18 Habanero plants about 20 cm high 10 inches one already got 5 fruit on and other 12 got flowers at 20 cm high they look a bit bushy but not much and I want to know why they already come out so early and so small plant?
    2.) Then must I prune the other 12 plants flowers in the middle so it can make a big plant? Or must I only plant them out in bigger 9-inch pots with new compost?
    3.) Then it is close to winter end of April can I take them in the house after they give their fruit and trim them and keep them where they get sun in the afternoon on the west side. Or must I give them light? Greetings Johan South Africa

    • @7PotClub
      @7PotClub  4 года назад +1

      Hello Johan. 1) It's not unusual that plants in a small container will start flowering and fruiting when still quite small. It's not a problem, but some people pinch off the flowers to encourage more plant growth. 2) If you are new growing peppers, I would not prune them your first year. They will be fine without it. 3) I always repot plants I bring back inside so I don't bring pests into the house. You probably can overwinter with just window light, but I usually use a grow light because I don't have a sunny enough window.

    Hi Rob, after your seeds first sprouted, what was the time line between taking the tape off the humidity dome and keeping use of the dome and heat mat ?

    • @7PotClub
      @7PotClub  3 года назад +1

      I can only guess, as I don't really keep a journal. Probably about 3 weeks before I removed the dome, and another week before I removed the heat mat. I don't do it by time, but by how the plants are germinating/growing. When most of the seeds have germinated, I remove the dome. When they start getting near size to transplant, I remove the mat. It is chillier in the basement, and I need to get them used to life without the extra warmth. Hope that helps!

    • @360smp

      Yes, definitely. They will need air after they break through the soil. Then you have to make sure the soil stays moist since the seal has been broken. You should watch my 2020 planting video.
