Rob, can't wait to see how this growing season progresses. Looking forward to the new songs. :)
Thanks Irvin!
By altitude, if you mean high: I think you take the cake Rob. This beanie is much higher on your head then on any mountain.
Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching James!
I love the “I grow hot peppers”..wish the song was longer 😂😂
Plants are growing well just like the mustache! Keep it going sir. God bless.

Same to you Rick!
Blimey, that's an awesome basement set-up. Well done. I look forward to the results. : )
Thanks Gary!
That's so many plants! Looks like you've really got it down with your systems 👍
Thanks A LOT!
Now I'm gonna have *_♫I grow hot peppers♫_* stuck in my head for the next 6 months.
😁
😀❤️🌶🎵
Good to see your doing well buddy, x
Thanks! Hope you are too
Great video!
Mine are at a similar stage and we've had quite warm weather here in the U.K. The seedlings have flourished in the conservatory. I'm looking forward to making my own signature sauce and dressings for meals.
All the best 7 Pot Club.
Thanks Ivan! Good luck with your plants.
I had a hailstorm that killed my Scorpion peppers and jalapeño peppers that I had outside :( will try again to grow those hot peppers next year
Also, I miss your videos Rob!! You are the best at growing hot peppers
I like your set up rob, you have your hands full of pepper sprouts. As always I enjoyed your video and thanks for your time doing this .
Thanks Joe!
Didn’t know about seedling growbags, good find
I loved this video. Your plants look amazing and you are so organized!! Also the Grow Light review was really interesting! You make all your videos very interesting! Thank you so much for your time! 🙃🔥❣️
As always, thanks for watching Carolyn! Hope your plants are dong great! 😀❤️🌶🌱
Those lights look nice! I'll be posting my re-potting pepper video soon too.
I'll look for that, Gapey!
@@7PotClub I posted last night for my members early viewing. I'll make it public in a few days. :)
rob you have truly inspired me to go my own hot peppers
That's fantastic. Good luck! 😀❤️🌶🌱
@@7PotClub Thanks rob! 👍😁 wish you goodluck as well
New subscriber here. What I like about this channel is that you don't go overboard. You only grow the required amount of pepper plants to get you enough pepper to get you thru the year. Kinda like me. lol
I do sell about half the plants I grow. 😀🌶🌱
The best is back
You're too kind!
Hi Rob!!!
Hi James!
How’s it going Rob, I really appreciate your videos a lot. Growing a bunch of hot peppers in South Africa 🇿🇦 keep up the good work. ✅🔥
Hello from Minnesota! Thanks!
I love seeing these videos yearly. Always brings a smile to my face. I wish you the best growing season! Can’t wait to share my favourite pods as you have done previously 😁
Thanks Frank!
Great video Rob I must admit I am jealous of your seedlings set up . I have converted a microwave cart Into my seedlings stand . Can't wait to see what you select for the plant sale .
Getting excited for spring, Thomas!

Cheers Anthony!
I want to see u do a cross and call it 7 pot rob! I would definitely want to grow it in my garden
I do have a cross called Stroberries. 😀
Love the videos, thanks for all the great information on growing peppers from seed!
I have a few trays of some moderate heat peppers (sugar rush peach, lemon drops, purple UFOs) in the basement of my 100 year old St. Paul home, but no super hots. If you have any extra seedlings of the hots, this Twin Cities resident would give one a good home! Heard you mention a plant sale.... will be watching out for it!
Thanks! Yes, the plant sale is scheduled for May 22. There will be lots of superhots there, from 3 growers. Will post details closer to the day.
Awesome video
funny timing, i did just that yesterday! cheers Rob!
TIM!!!
Love the videos, and Tim is the man!
Thanks. Yes he is!
Goodness Rob, that is quite the growing operation that you have in house there. Very wonderful plants receiving a great start to the 2021 growing season. No wonder you are such a successful grower what with all the patience and care your plants receive. Still about a couple months over in this part of South Dakota before such tender plants are set in outside tho. Happy Gardening! -Bob...
Thanks Bob!
cant wait to hear the new jam

Yes. Plus the facial shag.
Ruh-roh! Guess I'd better shave soon 🪒
I have a Viparspectra P 1500. The green one.
I really like my VIPARSPECTRA lights.

Great video, Rob! Your plants look great. I’m hoping mine stay alive until I come home from deployment. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Hope so, Pepper King! 🤞
Lol rip em’ apart great video and update Rob! Soooo many lights lol!
Thanks Bobby D! Yes, March through May are our biggest electricity bills. But i sell plants to offset the cost.
Your hot pepper plants look amazing way to grow Rob I grow hot peppers :-)
Thanks!
@@7PotClub You're Welcome :-)
Thanks for the info on the mesh pots! I was researching those a few days before watching this video. I might have to try them next year.
I bet it was a good feeling to pot that last pepper. I had ~200 this year and was pretty tired of potting by the end.
I may cut back next year.
Hello Rob! I am a big fan of your channel and also live in MN. I like your set-up, how do you keep your basement warm during the winter months. Space heater? trying to find a safe solution!
HI Thomas. We have a hot water boiler and radiators, so there are hot water pipes running across the ceiling in our basement so it never gets below about 60-65ºF. Without this source of heat it would be pretty challenging. Space heater could be a solution, but I'm never comfortable letting one run unattended.
@@7PotClub That is nice to have and I agree. I was maybe thinking heat mats, although it may dry out the soil quickly.
Heat mats could work, if you can keep up with the watering.
i'm so excited abouth my in Dezember ordered 7pot Brainstrain yellow preplanted plant Greetings from Germany! i tried do grow habanero red,it looks great.I start to plant the seeds abouth 3 weeks ago :3
Best of luck!
@@7PotClub thank you very much Rob! It starts to be warmer the next Days here in Germany NRW 🔥👍
Awesome video! Can't wait to see the progress :)
Thanks Lane!
Hey rob fantastic video! I’m yet to make another peppers video my peppers aren’t doing that good
I'm sorry. I hope they do better!
@@7PotClub thanks rob, excited to see the garden next video
Another great one! I’m curious... do you keep any monitors for humidity while your seedlings are going? My sun room where I have mine going seem to have a large swing every day between 15~35 percent humidity according to my cheepo Amazon weather station. Just wondering if it will affect my peppers at all. Keep up the good work my friend. 💪
I do have some humidity monitors, but more concerned for my stringing instruments than the plants. As long as their roots have enough water they seem happy!
Love the bahamian goatee...that was a corny pepper joke 😆🤣...
But seriously...it looks cool 😎👌
Thanks! I haven't decided whether or not to keep it.
@@7PotClub I vote for keeping it! :)
Try turning the bags inside out. That's the only way I use them now. Looks good Rob. Fishner next year maybe. Is that the only fertiliser needed until going outside? Maybe Epsom salt also?
That's the plan!
@@7PotClub I meant before dirt is put in. Easier to fill and more stable.
Oh! I like the beard! Suits you! You said the bags are biodegradable if put in a landfill. Are they biodegradable if just put into the soil of a bigger pot as well? Also, do the roots grow out through the bag if placed in a bigger pot? Were these the same kind of bags you showed last year or whenever it was, when you grew a plant in a clear container?
No, they don't degrade in a pot or in the ground over the course of the growing season. Yes, these are the same kind of bags I used last year. They roots do grow through them. I didn't see any difference in external growth between plants where I kept them on or removed them.
Hey Rob. I will be very happy to be corrected here but I bought those bags several years ago and after 11/2 to 2 years in proper hot compost pile they were unchanged. I wrote to the manufacturer and told them this, asked to see information on the biodegradability and they stopped communicating. I bought from AliExpress, very suspect! I’ll use up my stock as they are less plastic than pots but I no longer tell people to plant nor compost them.
This is really interesting. Thanks for sharing this. I'm going to reevaluate my use of these bags!
My plastic free solution is Ladbrookes soil blocks ( no affiliation). Signed up to your club. Love the content and advice. Many thanks from Eire.
I’ll check them out. Thanks!
Hey Rob, glad to see that your seedlings are doing great! But I have one question for you: I grew hot peppers for a few years. This year my seedlings just stopped growing about a month ago. Any idea on what could be the cause?
Hi Lama! Do they have enough light?
@@7PotClub I'm pretty sure they have the same amount as light as in the past years
There are 4 main variables. Growing medium, nutrition, lighting and watering. It has to be in one of those areas.
@@7PotClub I absolutely forgot the fertilizer, oh my god.... Thank you so much!
Mine are the same size as yours, doing great. They've been outside most days. My dog ate one whole and puked it up the other day, though 🤦🏻
Wow! I've never heard of that happening before! Hopefully your dog won't do that again. 😀🌶🌱
Let her try one of the komodo dragon peppers once they start growing, I bet she'll learn her lesson then! 😂
What minimum outside temp do you wait for before putting yours outside full time?
I try to wait until the temps during the day are in the 70s and the temps as night are at least in the upper 50s.
Thanks so much! Think I'm good to go!
Another great video! Tapped the bell icon now, since I was just re-watching some of your other videos yesterday-probably right before this one dropped-and I feel late to the party!
I'm wondering if you have a rough ratio of perlite to Pro-Mix. I'm using Pro-Mix already, and have used your Fishnure link (too bad you don't have a 7POTCLUB code for their site, as I found them through you!) and will be buying that and perlite to transplant soon.
Also, I'm in the Twin Cities area, and curious when you have your plant sale that you mentioned. I'd love to come have a look and buy from you!
Thanks!
Hoping to have a Fishnure discount link soon! Plant Sale is scheduled for May 22. Details to follow!
@@7PotClub Thanks for the reply! I can't wait!
Hey Rob! Should the brightness on the grow lights be set to max for the seedlings or around half way? (I have a notch from 0 to 100)
Kind of depends on how bright the light is and how close it is to the seedlings. I use 70W SANSI lights for my seedlings, and I keep them about two feet away. If I was using my brightest lights I would put them on about half brightness.
Will you be putting your peppers in the ground earlier this year since it’s been warm?
Probably not. I've lived in Minnesota for too many years to trust an early spring! 😀
- When do you feel the small plants are ready for a transplant??? 2nd set of leaves or 3rd???
At least two sets of leaves. I go by size more than the number. At the end, I'll transplant the tiniest ones if necessary.
I wonder what he plants on his 2nd basement? 👽
If you need a led grow light, take a look at our grow light, it is very beneficial to the growth of plants
I'm curious... Why don't you sow in the larger bags/pots instead of transplanting?
Good question. For germination, I use heat mats and moisture domes to create a controlled environment. I couldn't do that for 400 plants in larger pots.
@@7PotClub Ahhh, there ya go. I use plastic cups and no heat mat. I cover with plastic wrap until they germinate. I always have success. But I do 100, not 400! That's a lot!
Very informative, especially as I have the those grow bags on order. I also have some plastic nursery pots coming, but I think it's bigger than what you're using. Do you happen to know the size or have a link to it on Amazon?
Thank! Yes, there's a link to the plastic pots I use in the description.
You ever grown apocalypse peppers or death spiral peppers??
Yes, I grew Death Spiral last year. I've grown Apocalypse Chocolate many times, and this year Apocalypse Red.
hello,is a 33 centimeters or 14 litres pot enough for a 7 pot brainstrain yellow plant? greetings from germany NRW!
Yes, that's big enough. Pepper plants are very adaptable to any size pot. They'll get bigger in larger pots. I grow many plants each summer in pots about that size.
Maybe next time get yourself some address labels that you can print off. Use them instead that way you can peel and stick.
Good idea, Jeff! Thanks! But I've found the the sticky labels don't peel off easily like Scotch tape does.
Ehat are your thoughts on natural medicine tob? Ie cannabis?
Wait I live at the base of pikes peak,Colorado springs!!!!!!!!!!
I think it's great for those in states where it is legal!
@@7PotClub your a wonderful cat! Thanks for all you do! Can't wait to apply your knowledge to the spring and summer garden this year!
first!
So you were! Thanks!
